Chapter 7: No Chivalry
So people noticed Luo Sheng’s arrogant smile.
They couldn’t help but recall sothing from the forum and exclaid: “I rember now, he’s that scumbag Card Enhancer who cheated Goddess Wang out of her money!”
Imdiately, everyone started to rember, “It seems to be him, no wonder this newbie has so many cards.”
“This guy is really arrogant, having such a beautiful girl card, and still daring to provoke our Goddess Wang.”
“Although this Voldemort is hateful, that scumbag Enhancer is even more despicable, take him down!”
The audience gradually shifted from sympathizing with Luo Sheng to supporting Voldemort Xia Xingri in defeating the evil Luo Sheng.
So even shouted “Wang Loli yyds!”
Luo Sheng was embarrassed. Was it really such a big deal that he tricked Wang Keai once?
Was it necessary to hold such a grudge? Besides, she had also tricked him by assigning him to Qin Jianjia’s room, subjecting him to the bullying of that tigress, which was simply inhumane.
The female Card Master whose skirt was lifted asked in confusion: “But he has the ability to repair others’ cards, so isn’t it reasonable to ask for so money?”
“But he shouldn’t have taken Wang Keai’s money, and he even shalessly threatened her!” a young Card Master righteously retorted.
Outside the arena, many young angry Card Masters were constantly shouting.
They were just kids who had barely passed their coming-of-age ceremony.
Luo Sheng looked at them with disdain, having been hardened by society’s cruelty, he was clearly amused by their childish behavior.
Moreover, Qin Jianjia was living with him. While they were fantasizing about her elegant life, Luo Sheng saw her picking her feet every day.
Of course, Luo Sheng wouldn’t say these things out loud.
Otherwise, he probably wouldn’t make it out of the school campus alive.
Xia Xingri said, “It seems your reputation isn’t very good. If I defeat you, I’m sure my fa will soar.”
“Villains die because they talk too much.”
Luo Sheng grumbled.
Originally he was very innocent, but now he was facing cyberbullying.
Just as Xia Xingri was about to counterattack, Acoley, under Luo Sheng’s guidance, created a large number of small fireballs and began a new round of indiscriminate bombardnt.
“Damn, you’re not playing fair!”
He shouted, and was imdiately engulfed by nurous fireballs. The cha began to glow and heat up, turning red-hot, and a strong sll of burning emanated from the entire cha.
Xia Xingri beca sowhat frenzied, losing his rationality, his pupils bloodshot as he lunged towards Luo Sheng to kill him.
He couldn’t accept it. This was a card duel, and if he lost, it ant he would lose his card. It was simply unacceptable, too painful to bear.
In his frenzy, he charged recklessly, finally stepping on the fireball bomb that Luo Sheng had Acoley set up in advance.
With a trendous boom, flas shot skyward, and the cha along with its pilot were sent flying, then began a free fall. Even though Xia Xingri had the cha’s protection, he had already fallen unconscious due to the impact.
As he hit the ground, he instantly lost all fighting consciousness.
As the black mist dispersed, Luo Sheng caught the falling 【00-2 Humanoid Battle Armor】 and said with a smile:
“According to the rules, I can choose any one of your cards, so this card is mine now.”
It was a common phenonon for Card Masters to duel with cards as stakes. The Card Alliance even supported and encouraged such activities, believing that a powerful card could only exert its maximum potential in the hands of a strong user.
The fact that Voldemort had carelessly lost his advantage was quite novel for these new Card Masters, especially since this card specifically designed to trick newbies had been taken by the victor.
It caused quite a stir at Pingcheng No. 2 Experintal School.
Luo Sheng, the protagonist of the event, had already blocked his phone and returned ho, locking his door.
Today’s unexpected gains were quite substantial. Apart from the 【00-2 Humanoid Battle Armor】 won in the card duel.
He now had the cards 【Fire Maiden – Acoley】【Black Mist】, as well as a white card 【Incomplete chanical Maiden】【Open Door】.
These cards were enough to make any novice Card Master envious, but Luo Sheng was still not satisfied. If he hadn’t been able to enhance Acoley last night, today’s card duel would probably have benefited soone else.
Luo Sheng held the white card 【Incomplete chanical Maiden】 in his hand.
This was currently his weakest card.
Shimring lights danced, his eyes glead, and a rugged, desolate world appeared before him. In the scene, a half-human, half-chanical girl lay unconscious in a heap of chanical waste in a wasteland.
This card can be enhanced, choose from the following:
①The incomplete chanical girl, thrown down from the sky city, has fallen into a coma, her life force constantly waning. She urgently needs help now, perhaps Dr. Jack, the biochanical doctor, could save her.
②If you have enough cards, perhaps a miracle might occur.
Luo Sheng pondered for a mont.
He decided to enter the world where the chanical maiden was.
The scene before him beca illusory, shimring with colorful wings, and after a final flash of light, he arrived in a brown-gray world.
Surrounding him were abandoned, exposed rebar concrete high-rises, rusted yellow chanical remnants everywhere, and withered vegetation barely surviving in the wind.
Beneath the distant floating cyberpunk-style city, electronic waste dumps stretched endlessly, the scent of tal perating the air.
“Is this a wasteland world?”
Luo Sheng frowned as he looked at the apocalyptic scene.
At the very least, he felt this place was truly unsuitable for human habitation, giving off a depressing sense of despair.
Then, he summoned Acoley, sensed the direction of the chanical maiden, and began to advance.
……
In the garbage heap.
A scavenger unexpectedly discovered the chanical maiden in the trash pile, “There’s a high-quality humanoid robot here!”
At this ti, she was in a coma, her tal right leg had exposed wires, the chanical joints were damaged, and occasionally sparked with blue light, indicating an electrical leak.
Another scavenger, seeing her in this state, said, “This isn’t a high-quality humanoid robot, but a cyborg… However, the parts on her body seem quite valuable.”
He coveted the parts on the chanical maiden’s hands and feet. Although old, they could still fetch a good price.
Especially since she was a cyborg, originally human, who had her body modified with super prosthetics to gain rare abilities such as enhanced physical abilities, combat skills, speed, x-ray vision, super-computation, and so on. Of course, the modification costs were not low, only affordable by the military and the wealthy.
The scavenger said, “If we sell her to NASDAQ, we should get a higher price.”
NASDAQ was a combat competition company. They specialized in searching for or creating cyborgs, making them compete to earn large amounts of chanical coins, the currency of this wasteland world.
The scavenger found a sack from sowhere, preparing to package the chanical maiden and take her away.
At this mont, on the other side of the garbage heap, a figure appeared, “Let her go, leave her to !”
The voice reached their ears.
The two scavengers turned their heads to look, and saw a rather handso youth with distinct features and delicate skin, looking like a young master from a wealthy family in the city, unfamiliar with the ways of the world.
The scavenger laughed mockingly, “Kid, don’t refuse a toast only to be forced to drink a forfeit. You’ve lived in the city too long, forgotten how dangerous the outside world is.”
Then they pulled out wrenches, shovels, and electric wires.
The other scavenger also laughed, “This kid must be a young master from a wealthy family in the city, if we kidnap him, we could extort quite a sum.”
These scavengers were originally from poor families, fighting and kidnapping for ransom were not beyond them. Therefore, 7 or 8 out of 10 scavengers were not clean, either carrying murder charges or having done bad things.
They were about to make a move.
The next mont.
Acoley appeared behind Luo Sheng, holding a magic wand, with fireballs floating in mid-air around her, like a blazing sun.
She was glaring angrily at the two scavengers, as if threatening Luo Sheng was an affront to her.
“Shit!”
The scavengers cursed, forgetting about the chanical maiden they were about to take.
They frantically fled in the opposite direction.
Unfortunately, they still couldn’t outrun the speed of the fireballs. After a round of fiery roasting, the two scavengers completely lost their fighting ability, kneeling and begging for rcy, crying bitterly, almost treating Luo Sheng like a revered grandfather.
Of course, Luo Sheng never disappoints people. Since these people respected him so much, he had to do sothing befitting his status, such as having the scavengers offer up all their money, treasures, and equipnt. That’s not too much, right?
Finally, he let them leave wearing only a pair of torn underwear, full of gratitude.
Luo Sheng looked at the overflowing chanical coins, as well as maps, food, and other items.
“My card wife is still the most capable,” he praised Acoley effusively.
Unfortunately, she only tilted her head and stared at him, her head full of question marks, completely unable to understand.
