Chapter 165: I Will Wait for Your Return
Grandma Gu and the little orphans were arranged in a spacious and bright house in the capital.
Since the stone church in Divatu City had already been destroyed by the count, Acoley arranged for them to stay here so she could focus on her studies at the capital’s academy.
“What a spacious big house!”
“This bed is mine!”
“This room is mine too!”
The group of little rascals who had always lived in the poor stone church had never seen such grandeur. When they arrived at this spacious and bright house, their joy was overflowing. They ran wildly through the hallways, constantly opening one room after another, or bouncing on the soft big beds.
Grandma Gu looked at the house, which seed sowhat luxurious to them, and frowned, “This house must be very expensive, right? How could you spend so much money?”
Grandma Gu was worried, as large houses in the capital weren’t cheap, especially one this big. The monthly rent must be several gold coins, right?
Acoley held her weathered hand and said with a smile, “Don’t worry, Grandma. This is funded by the academy. You can live here comfortably, and it’s also convenient for
to take care of you all.”
“Alright, but if it’s too much of a burden for you, we can find a house in the suburbs,” Grandma Gu still seed concerned.
“I’ll manage,” Acoley nodded.
But in her heart, she had no intention of moving them out. She would work hard to earn money and give everyone a good life.
At this ti, Luo Sheng was in the living room of the house.
Using Dongfang Muqing’s Azure Feather technique, he had moved all the luggage from the stone church into the living room, piling it up.
There were kitchen utensils from the church, as well as everyone’s clothes, quilts, and other daily necessities.
However, most of these were newly purchased, as the previous church had been burned down, leaving few things behind.
Grandma Gu saw this scene.
Then she gave Acoley a gentle push, “Don’t just think about us, Acoley. You need to consider your own happiness. Go, child, he has done a lot for you. You two should have a ho.”
“Grandma!” Acoley’s face flushed, and she pouted.
“Go on, child. He’s a good boy too,” Grandma Gu said with a smile, waving her hand to urge her to go.
Acoley could only helplessly clasp her hands behind her back and walk to Luo Sheng’s side, feeling a bit nervous.
“Um… well…”
Acoley hesitated, her words coming out in fragnts.
Luo Sheng turned his head to glance at her, his face showing a puzzled expression, “What’s the matter?”
“It’s just…” Acoley swallowed, then finally mustered up the courage to say, “You still owe
a date. Can I invite you to… tour around… this capital?”
As she spoke, Acoley’s face had already turned red, like a ripe apple, but she still gritted her teeth and said it.
Luo Sheng smiled and patted her head, then took her soft, white hand, “No problem. I did promise you, after all.”
Acoley blushed and gave a soft “Mm.”
At this mont, Grandma Gu walked over and gently pushed them towards the door, “You two go have fun. Leave this to this old woman. I’m the only one who can manage those children inside. I won’t cook dinner for you tonight.”
“Grandma!” Acoley was at a loss, especially since Grandma Gu had never pushed her out like this before.
“Go on, child. Don’t worry about ho.”
Grandma Gu repeated, then closed the door, leaving the two of them outside.
Acoley looked at Luo Sheng, her face showing a helpless expression, “Grandma can be so quirky sotis.”
“Mm, I think so too,” Luo Sheng held her hand, their fingers intertwining. “Let’s go. It’s rare to have a leisurely day. We need to relax properly, and I’m interested in this place anyway.”
Luo Sheng felt like he was traveling in another world.
Everywhere were elegant and ancient buildings, Gothic-style churches could be seen everywhere, along with royal palaces and castles, and all sorts of strange structures.
It attracted him, a lover of travel.
“Mm-hmm,” Acoley tightly held his large, sturdy hand. The two looked just like a loving couple.
Walking on the street.
The streets were bustling with people, rchants from various places ca and went frequently, clowns and street perforrs were everywhere, along with nurous fruit stalls and all kinds of tempting local delicacies.
Acoley was captivated.
She had always lived in small places, and even Divatu City was just a small town.
But the royal capital was different. The dense flow of people brought a developed commodity economy. Various goods and rchandise were everywhere. Many shop windows could be seen displaying exquisite clothes, including pink wedding dresses.
Acoley stood outside the window of a bridal shop.
Admiring the soft, puffy red wedding dress adorned with jewels, her eyes were bright, her face showing a longing expression. She seed to hope that she could wear such a wedding dress.
After a mont, Acoley said, “Let’s go, there’s a nice cake shop over there.”
Luo Sheng silently noted this in his heart and nodded gently.
Sitting at a table outside the cake shop, Acoley took a bite of mousse, her face showing an expression of bliss, “It’s so delicious. You can’t get this in Divatu City at all. You can only have it in Tripoli.”
“Eat slowly, there’s plenty more here.”
Luo Sheng took out a handkerchief and helped wipe her face.
Acoley felt a bit embarrassed but still enjoyed Luo Sheng’s help. Finally, she stuck out her little tongue, then started eating more elegantly.
The two of them went like this, from cake shops to pancake stalls, or even fancy Western restaurants, tasting various foods bit by bit.
They also ate all kinds of snacks on the street.
Finally, they quietly climbed to the top of a large windmill, overlooking the entire royal capital of Tripoli.
This was perhaps the happiest day for Acoley. The two sat on the edge of the high tower, Acoley’s body leaning gently against Luo Sheng, her head resting on his shoulder.
Acoley gazed at the setting sun, its red light shining on the colorful tile roofs, a picturesque scene before her eyes.
A gentle breeze blew by, ruffling her soft red hair.
Acoley spoke in a soft, gentle voice, “You’re leaving again, aren’t you?”
Luo Sheng felt the warmth on his shoulder and nodded slightly, “I can stay with you for a while longer.”
“Can’t you not leave?” Acoley asked reluctantly. She enjoyed the ti spent with Luo Sheng; it was the happiest ti in her life.
Luo Sheng shook his head helplessly, “When the ti cos, I have to leave.”
Then he looked at Acoley seriously, “But don’t worry, when you’re in danger, I’ll appear by your side.”
Acoley’s face wasn’t just red from the sunset glow, but was originally red. She gave a soft “Mm.”
The two looked into each other’s eyes.
Gradually, Acoley closed her eyes. Under the sunset glow, those pink lips were like attractive food, making one unable to resist the urge to kiss them.
Especially with the young girl’s fragrance so close.
Luo Sheng gently kissed her. The two embraced, their silhouettes particularly radiant under the setting sun.
At this mont, Acoley’s face was full of tears as she reluctantly parted her lips.
She wiped away her tears, her eyes blinking, “I’ll always wait for you here.”
“Mm.”
Luo Sheng gently stroked her hair, his hands slowly sliding from her forehead to her fair cheeks, finally embracing her again.
Luo Sheng whispered in her ear, “I’ll co back whenever I have the chance. I won’t make you wait long.”
“Mm-hmm, I believe you!”
Acoley also felt the warmth and smiled very happily.
She truly wished this mont could last forever. Thinking of this, she hugged him even tighter.
