Chapter 160: Excellent Young People
“Stop it, cease this aningless battle. It’s not good for either of you.”
The voice echoed through the castle, coming from afar and drawing near. It was an extrely old yet powerful voice, one that imdiately gave the impression of belonging to a transcendent expert.
Luo Sheng had Levni and Bai Moxue stop their attacks and return to his side, vigilantly surveying the surroundings.
The owner of this voice possessed abilities far beyond his own. He couldn’t act rashly.
Luo Sheng hadn’t expected there to be such a formidable figure in this world.
He had been too willful and reckless before.
At this mont, the Captain of the Holy Knights, Raymond, stood up with a surprised expression and said: “Head Instructor?”
Suddenly, on one of the castle walls, a purple stone door appeared, resembling a portal from Minecraft. A figure erged from the rippling purple surface – an elderly man slowly walked out of the shimring portal.
He leaned on a cane and had a white beard.
Looking at the devastated castle dining hall, he said:
“Everyone, stop fighting. There’s no point in continuing this aningless battle.” The old man’s voice was no longer as resounding as before, now sounding like that of an ordinary elderly person.
Raymond, still unwilling to back down, said: “They killed a count of the kingdom. How can we let them off so easily? They must face legal consequences!”
The old man raised his cane and struck Raymond’s head forcefully, angrily scolding:
“You’ve always been so rigid! Moss Haddis was originally a scoundrel, kidnapping and murdering civilian won, constantly doing despicable and disgusting things. Aren’t you siding with evil by defending him?”
“I… I’m upholding the kingdom’s laws,” Raymond insisted stubbornly.
But he didn’t dare to act rashly, given the old man’s superior status.
The old man glared at him helplessly and struck his head a few more tis. “You’re too bound by rules. Go back and reflect on your mistakes. If you push people too far, not only will you lose your life in vain, but you might also create a powerful enemy for the kingdom!”
After that, he ignored Raymond.
Instead, he glanced at Instructor Phyllis and said with great satisfaction, “You’ve nurtured an excellent student.”
He then approached Luo Sheng and Acoley, saying, “What fine young people, just a bit too hot-blooded. But who hasn’t done reckless things in their youth? I can understand you. If one’s lover were taken away, it would indeed drive anyone mad.”
In just a few sentences, the old man defined this incident as a mistake caused by youthful impetuousness, seemingly de-escalating the situation.
Bai Moxue and Levni watched him vigilantly, protecting Luo Sheng behind them.
Luo Sheng gently patted their shoulders, telling them to relax.
If the old man were hostile, he wouldn’t waste ti talking and would have attacked imdiately, given his obvious superior strength.
Luo Sheng stepped forward and said, “I can only apologize for this incident. Because no one could help us, and you all know very well what kind of person Moss Haddis was. Acoley would certainly not have fared well in his hands.”
Seeing the old man’s conciliatory attitude, Luo Sheng also took a step back.
“I can understand your predicant. After all, a count wields too much power,” the old man said thoughtfully, then continued in a calm tone: “My na is Hunter Jas, the Head Instructor of the Kingdom’s Magic Academy. I will make a fair judgnt on this matter.”
Hunter looked intently at Luo Sheng and Acoley.
He spoke seriously and earnestly: “This incident was originally caused by Count Moss Haddis abusing his power and committing detestable and disgusting acts. He must pay the price for his actions.”
Hearing this, Luo Sheng and Acoley both breathed sighs of relief, realizing the old man hadn’t co for them.
However, Hunter changed his tone, “But you also bear inescapable responsibility for this matter.
Although Moss Haddis was a scoundrel, he was still a count, and your actions have brought sha to the kingdom in this affair.
So there must be punishnt. Given your abilities, you should serve the city of Divatu well.
A giant dragon slumbers there. Your punishnt will be to defeat the dragon and make it disappear from the kingdom’s territory. Do you have any objections?”
Although Hunter intended to punish them, the severity wasn’t great from Luo Sheng’s perspective.
Perhaps he was giving Luo Sheng and Acoley a chance to make ands.
Clearly, Hunter’s approach was opposite to Raymond. One played the bad cop, the other the good cop; one used the stick, the other the carrot to win people over. They just hadn’t anticipated Luo Sheng’s abilities to be so far beyond their expectations.
However, since the other party had offered a way out, Luo Sheng followed suit: “No problem. I accept this punishnt.”
“You truly are a sensible child,” Hunter praised Luo Sheng, then looked at Acoley and said: “You’re very fortunate to have found such an outstanding partner. It’s truly enviable… It reminds
of my long-departed wife.”
Hunter nodded at the two of them.
He displayed a kind and benevolent deanor, like a friendly neighborhood grandfather.
But when he looked at the Captain of the Holy Knights, Raymond, his expression beca serious, and he spoke in a reproachful tone: “Co back with
to face your punishnt. You’re too inflexible and rigid in following rules. This isn’t good for you.”
“I apologize, Head Instructor,” Raymond lowered his head, then followed Hunter through the portal, leaving the castle.
Acoley then approached her instructor Phyllis, “I’m sorry, teacher. We were too rash.”
She knew Phyllis had done a lot for her sake, even inviting soone from the kingdom’s capital to help resolve the situation.
However, things had developed beyond expectations, and her efforts had been in vain.
“It’s alright. I’m just glad you’re safe. After all, that count was notorious for his depravity. I didn’t want to see you abused by him,” Phyllis let out a long sigh of relief.
Then Acoley asked about the old man who had just appeared.
Phyllis thought for a mont, “He should be an old friend of Principal Skandia.”
Then she patted Acoley’s shoulder, “Just do as he says. His position in the kingdom is quite high.”
“Understood, instructor.”
“I believe you can do it. Rely more on the person beside you. Although he’s a bit rash, he doesn’t seem to let you co to harm,” Phyllis comnted on Luo Sheng.
After giving these instructions, she left the castle, looking at Moss Haddis and his troops with disgust.
Moss Haddis’ infamy was widespread, making him an object of public contempt. Phyllis despised him as well.
Acoley returned to Luo Sheng’s side and asked gently, “You weren’t hurt just now, were you?”
She had seen Luo Sheng take a direct hit from Captain Raymond’s sword.
Luo Sheng gave her a confident smile, “Of course not. His attack wasn’t that strong.”
Assured that he was fine, Acoley then looked at the two card girls beside Luo Sheng, Bai Moxue and Levni.
Lost in thought for a mont, she finally said resolutely, “I’ll definitely beco stronger, to keep your back safe!”
“I look forward to the day you beco a powerful person.”
Luo Sheng pinched her cheek.
He transford Bai Moxue and Levni into cards and put them back in his card box.
Acoley also smiled and said, “Mm-hmm, I’ve decided. I’ll take care of that dragon.”
“Then let
give you a little boost,” Luo Sheng didn’t object, even though the dragon was at the silver level of power, he wasn’t worried about Acoley failing.
Then he took Acoley’s hand and led her to the garden outside the castle.
The castle guards had long since left, and even if so guards lingered in the castle, they didn’t dare approach. They had a deep understanding of Luo Sheng’s abilities.
They could only watch from afar.
Luo Sheng ca to a sufficiently open area, then took out the card he had specially prepared for her: 【Fla Dragon Cub】.
