“Pfft.” The man on the other end seed to find sothing amusing, laughing out loud before complaining impatiently, “Won are always so fussy! Still want to hear her voice? What, afraid I’ve silenced her for good? Rest assured, we live in a lawful society, and I’m not about to kill soone in Capital City. Although you’re nothing but little ants, crushing you would still dirty my hands, wouldn’t it? So, you can relax. She’s alive and well, breathing just fine. The man spoke with the tone of an arrogant second-generation rich kid, and Rong Yan’s eyes darkened slightly, knowing that these people were accustod to acting outside the law. Rong Yan drew in a sharp breath, knowing that all the money she had access to was far from that amount. Yet, she didn’t show it, keeping calm, “I understand. Before I get there, don’t touch my friend!”
The man on the other side mocked, “Heh heh, with her plain Jane looks, even if I were desperate I wouldn’t be interested in touching her, that much you can be certain of.”
“I’m giving you half an hour, if you’re not here in half an hour, I’ll have soone break one of her fingers to give you as a welco gift.”
After saying that, the brazen man hung up the phone.
The phone emitted a busy tone.
Rong Yan slowly put down the phone. She t Estelle’s worried expression, “What happened to Qi Yue, has sothing happened?”
Rong Yan hadn’t used speakerphone when she called, but even from hearing only one side of the conversation Estelle could tell sothing was amiss. It seed like soone was holding Qi Yue.
But that little girl was so shy, kind-hearted, and low-profile even in the entertainnt industry, almost like a shadow, always silent—whom could she have possibly provoked?
Rong Yan took a deep breath, her brows furrowed slightly, “I’m not sure about the specifics just yet, it’s just that a man has Qi Yue’s phone, and he’s demanded that we bring money to Zijin Club for her ransom.”
