The small black helicopter had a bold and sleek design, with no superfluous painting on its body, just pure black, exactly like the color soone favored.
Li Shengxiao held her hand, his voice as beautiful as a cello, low and steady, “Let’s go.”
Rong Yan, who had just woken up, almost got dazed again by him while being led away, couldn’t help but ask, “Where to? Are we flying this thing?”
In the middle of the night, he couldn’t possibly be planning to take her on a tour over the skies of Capital City, right?
“Co with and you’ll know!” Li Shengxiao, holding her hand, sounded as if he was in a good mood.

Rong Yan had no choice but to keep up with his pace.

Every man in black they encountered on the way bowed their heads, respectfully greeting them.

The helicopter, hovering a ter above the ground, lowered a ladder, and the stern-faced man turned back to let go of Rong Yan’s hand. “Do you want to carry you up?”
Rong Yan knew without looking back that dozens of eyes were intently watching them, and without thinking, she shook her head and refused, “I can get up myself. Just climbing up will do, right?”
“Hmm, be careful.”
“OK.” Rong Yan made a relaxed expression and gave an OK gesture.
She had fild for “Three Kingdoms” before, and since it was a historical drama, she hadn’t shied away from wire action scenes, so climbing a one-ter ladder was certainly within her abilities.
Rong Yan wasn’t one to show off beyond her capability; she said she could get up and she did, climbing the ladder steadily. When she turned back to boast to the man below, she ran straight into his firm chest.
“Hiss.” Her nose t his squarely, causing her to inhale sharply with a gasp.
It hurt.
The pain wasn’t particularly severe, but rather it was an aching sensation, pulling at the corners of her eyes.
Li Shengxiao, not expecting her sudden turn, instinctively wrapped his arms around her waist, his voice tinged with a trace of anger as he imdiately checked her nose, “Did you get hurt?”
Rong Yan awkwardly dodged and quickly said, “I didn’t get hurt, just grazed it a bit, I’m fine.”
Li Shengxiao relaxed knowing her delicate little nose was just slightly abraded, letting go of her as his eagle-like eyes still held a hint of displeasure, “Be more careful next ti; don’t turn back so suddenly.”
“…” Rong Yan felt thoroughly vexed. The point wasn’t that she had turned back suddenly; it was when he had gotten behind her.
Had he followed her closely as she climbed, worried she might not hold on to the rope securely and fall, so he stayed so close to catch her in ti if necessary…
Even though she didn’t think she would fall, her heart couldn’t help but race uncontrollably at the realization.
