Chapter 678: Chapter 678: Don’t Tell Her, He Has Already Arrived
Li Shengxiao walked back to his office, picked up the clothes draped over his chair, and while striding out, he said, “Where are you? I’ll co pick you up!”
Rong Yan glanced at the address and reported it to him.
After hanging up the phone, Li Shengxiao said a quick word to Gu Ming outside and then left.
Having finished the call, Rong Yan returned to Gu Linxi’s side, picked up her bag, and with a face full of guilt, she told Gu Linxi, “Xixi, I might need to leave, we can grab a drink when I have ti so other day.”
“So soon?” Gu Linxi saw that she was just leaving after a phone call and couldn’t hide her surprise.
Rong Yan said, looking guilty, “Yeah, I’ve got dinner planned with Little Baby tonight, and it was a last-minute trip this afternoon. I ant to grab a drink with you, but now I’m short on ti.”
Gu Linxi, being generous and straightforward by nature, and not one to fuss over small matters, imdiately waved her off, “No worries, we’ll have that drink next ti. You go ahead if you have plans; I’ve still got unfinished work to sort out anyway.”
Knowing she was referring to the motorcycle she had just tuned, curiosity quickly took over Rong Yan, “That bike looks like KK’s 1987 limited edition. I rember there was a news leak, saying a collector in Capital City bought it. I just can’t rember who it was. Who is it?”
This was the second ti today she had asked about the owner of the motorcycle.
However, Gu Linxi, uncharacteristically evasive this ti, would only say it belonged to a friend and refused to divulge more.
The more evasive Gu Linxi was, the more Rong Yan felt there was sothing fishy going on.
Guilt about the red string that suddenly appeared on Gu Linxi’s hand, and a nagging feeling that she had seen it sowhere before. And today, this Harley motorcycle gave her the sa feeling.
Watching Xixi’s reaction, could it be that she was actually in love?
But why wouldn’t she tell her if she was dating? Could it be that Xixi was involved with soone she knew?
Rong Yan rifled through her mind for the most likely candidate, and only Lin Xinbei ca to mind. But that was utterly impossible; how could a man who disliked won possibly date one!
Just as she resolved to press further, her phone rang. Looking down, Rong Yan saw it was Li Shengxiao calling again. She said goodbye to Gu Linxi while heading outside.
“Hello, you’ve arrived already?”
It had only been five minutes since she hung up; don’t tell her he was already there!
From the other end of the phone, the man’s cello-deep voice ca through, “No.”
Rong Yan sighed with relief, “Good, good that you haven’t.”
She hadn’t even picked up Baby yet, and if he had arrived so quickly, she wouldn’t know what to do.
As if hearing her inner thoughts, the voice on the phone, dark and husky, said, “I called to tell you there’s no need to pick up the little guy. I’ve asked the butler to take him there.”
Rong Yan had told him to et directly at the hot and sour noodle shop because she figured she would not yet be with the little guy, so he called ahead.
“Oh.” Rong Yan blinked, “Wait for a bit, I’ll hail a taxi and be right over.”
The noodle shop wasn’t far from where she was, and a taxi should get her there in about ten minutes. She planned to get there early to save a spot so they wouldn’t have to wait for a table when they arrived.
Having made up her mind, Rong Yan got ready to end the call, “Li Shengxiao, I’m hanging up. I’ll take a taxi and ssage you when I get there.”
