Chapter 588: Splashed Little Guy’s Face with Water
Rong Yan left the hospital without bothering about the abrasion on her arm, hailed a cab, and went to the old house to pick up Little Baby from Lin Zhiya.
Then she took another cab, bringing the little guy to Huangji Sour and Spicy Noodles, a place they hadn’t visited in a long ti.
Once seated, Rong Yan waved her hand grandly and ordered two bowls of sour and spicy noodles, exceptionally allowing for a tiny bit of chili to be added to his portion.
Li Duidui had inherited her taste and liked spicy food.
The last ti they ca, Rong Yan hadn’t allowed him to have anything spicy, but this ti she unexpectedly ordered him a mildly spicy flavor. Even though there was only a little bit of chili, it made him extrely happy. His little face glowed, and he looked up at her with his big, adorable eyes, asking, “Mom, do you have so happy news to share with today?”
Rong Yan was taken aback by his question before rembering that yesterday’s al out was to celebrate her new song topping the charts. As for today…
“No, I just wanted to take you out for so sour and spicy noodles. Don’t you like the noodles from this place?” Rong Yan silently handed him a pair of disposable chopsticks, breaking them apart and placing them in front of him.
The beautiful little boy’s grape-like eyes started to look at her with suspicion, as if scrutinizing a criminal. He observed Rong Yan intently for a few seconds, then tilted his head and said, “Then…did you do sothing to upset , Mom?”
“Pfft!” Rong Yan was drinking water and was caught off guard by his cute, innocent question, causing her to choke and spray the water out.
Li Duidui, sitting directly across from her, got the full brunt of it.
Rong Yan quickly pulled out a tissue to wipe his face, “Sorry, sorry, Mommy didn’t an to do it. Are you okay?”
Fortunately, she had been drinking iced tea, not hot water. Otherwise, she would have been terrified!
“I’m fine.” The beautiful little toddler calmly wiped his face with Rong Yan’s tissue and continued to look at her with those big, sparkly eyes, seemingly determined to get to the bottom of things, “Mom, what did you do to upset ? Is it sothing that would make very, very angry?”
Sweat! Rong Yan felt like her son had seen right through her, as three lines of sweat slid down her forehead and her gaze started to shift, “No, nothing at all.”
Her eyes wandered for a mont, feeling it wasn’t right! Little Baby was too smart; if she showed any signs of guilt, he would imdiately see through her! She forced her gaze back to Little Baby, steeling herself to et his eyes, “I just wanted to take you out for so sour and spicy noodles; you’re overthinking it.”
Li Duidui’s grape-like eyes were clear as crystal for a split second, giving her the feeling as if it was Li Shengxiao who was scrutinizing her with his gaze.
“Really?”
“Really, you’re overthinking it,” Rong Yan confird with a ‘kid, you’re really overthinking it’ look in her eyes.
“Oh.” Li Duidui blinked, his beautiful little face showing a puzzled expression as he tilted his head and looked away from Rong Yan.
Rong Yan let out a sigh of relief internally. She hadn’t even caught her breath when the little boy, whom she thought she had just pacified, suddenly looked back at her and said seriously, “But I still think you did sothing that would make angry, and you want to make happy before I find out. Then even when I discover it, I won’t be as angry.”
After saying that, he continued to stare at Rong Yan with a very serious and earnest expression, adding silently, “I think that’s what Mom is up to!”
