Chapter 556: One More Hour
She let out a gloomy call and said to Little Baby, who was still charging into battle, “Baby, just a second.”
Then she returned to the main page and opened the new ssage she had just received; it was from Li Shengxiao. It was a simple sentence, “Still busy?”
Rong Yan raised her head in surprise, glanced at the unattended doorway, and found it strange as she replied, “Not at all.”
Had he finished his eting?
Impossible, Assistant Gu should have co to tell her if Li Shengxiao was done.
Gu Ming hadn’t co over, which ant Li Shengxiao was still busy.
Why was he sending her ssages if he hadn’t finished?
‘Ding ding.’
The second ssage ca in right away, again from Li Shengxiao, “Outside?”
She had run to the company to find him, so that counted as not going back to Dihor Garden, right? Rong Yan tilted her head and quickly replied, “Mhm.”
After replying, she felt that her response seed too simple. Glancing at the ti, she sent another ssage, “Are you still busy? How much longer will you be?”
It was already 7 o’clock, and Little Baby’s stomach was almost growling. If he couldn’t finish in ti, she would take the little guy down to eat sothing before coming back up to wait for him. Otherwise, if he was busy until nine or ten, Little Baby’s stomach would suffer.
Inside the Li Group’s conference room, the executives exchanged glances at the man sitting at the head of the table, constantly playing with his phone as if replying to soone’s ssages. Yet they dared not stop; they had no choice but to continue the eting with determination…
Li Shengxiao lowered his eyes, his gaze landing on his phone. When he finally saw that Rong Yan was ‘concerned’ about whether he would co ho tonight or not, his mood suddenly lifted.
He paused for a mont with his fingers, then sent a ssage back.
“Probably another hour, don’t wait for dinner.”
‘Ding ding.’ In a few seconds, Rong Yan’s phone received his reply ssage. She lifted her head and asked the handso little boy who was engrossed in playing, “Duidui, are you hungry? If you’re hungry, Mommy can take you down to eat sothing.”
Li Duidui had been waiting for her to resu the ga and to continue with him. Hearing her words, he looked up in a daze, blinked his grape-like eyes a few tis before reacting, and very obediently put down the phone, saying, “Aren’t we waiting for the big baddie?”
After saying it, he realized he had spoken too hastily, letting out the nickna he usually used for Li Shengxiao in his heart.
He imdiately beca uneasy, fiddling with his phone and pouting, before he quickly corrected himself, “Daddy is still in a eting… Uncle hasn’t co to find us yet…”
Rong Yan watched him not knowing where to put his hands and feet, suppressing a laugh, pretending she hadn’t heard the nickna he had just blurted out, “He’s still busy, that’s why I’m asking if you’re hungry and if you want to eat sothing first.”
Li Duidui just wanted to eat with her, not willing to eat by himself at all. Without even thinking, he shook his head, “No, I’m not hungry.”
“Really not hungry?” Rong Yan didn’t quite believe him. She reached out and felt his soft little belly, which seed still chubby, not like he was hungry.
Li Duidui was so comfortable from her touch that his eyes squinted up, and he cooed, “Grandma made a lot of delicious food at noon. I ate so much, so I’m not hungry now. I want to eat with Mommy, not by myself.”
He would rather not eat than eat alone!
Rong Yan withdrew her hand, seeing his ‘resolute refusal to eat’ stance, and gave in helplessly, “Alright then.”
