Capítulo 1926: Chapter 1927: I Thought You Actually Could

After returning from school, Rong Yan took Little Baby out for a al before heading back to Dihor Garden.

They had been staying at the old house for quite so ti and hadn’t returned for a while.

After a month away, Rong Yan expected the place to be a ss, covered in dust. To her surprise, the house was spotless, and the fridge stocked with fresh vegetables and milk.

Li Shengxiao took off his coat and placed it on the sofa, saying, “Gu Ming arranged for soone to clean every day, and stocked the fridge for us, making it convenient for us to co back anyti.”

Rong Yan heated up a cup of milk for Little Baby, handed it to him, and looked up in amazent, “Is Assistant Gu really just your assistant? He seems to handle everything.”

More like soone’s nanny than Mrs. Lin.

She imagined Gu Ming dressed in nanny clothes instead of his usual suit, and was amused by the thought.

Li Shengxiao, unaware of her whimsical imagination, felt a bit annoyed hearing her praise another man. He pursed his lips and said, “I can do what he does.”

Rong Yan looked surprised, “You can cook? Do laundry? Clean the house?”

She didn’t even ntion grocery shopping. Soone like him, with money, doesn’t need to haggle; he can just spend freely.

She was just curious and asked casually, not expecting to hit a nerve.

Li Shengxiao paused while picking up his water glass and squeezed out, “No, I can’t.”

“Then why did you say you could? You startled ; I thought you could do all these things.”

Li Shengxiao felt like his chest was stuffed with cotton, making him uncomfortable. He tightened his grip on the cup and gritted his teeth, saying, “I can make money!”

“Uh?”

So what?

Everyone in the country knows he can make money.

He picked up the water glass, raised his chin slightly, and spoke with undeniable certainty, “A man doesn’t need to know too much. Making money is enough because when you earn enough, soone will handle the chores for you.”

Rong Yan was confused.

And more confused.

Still puzzled.

She couldn’t follow his train of thought.

So, hmm.

Then, hmm.

Weren’t they just talking about how Gu Ming knows so much and, as an assistant, still helps him with life chores? How did it turn into whether n should be multitalented or just earn money?

The conversation slipped away just like that.

Rong Yan went to take a bath.

She had just gone in when the man with a dark expression found his phone and made a call.

“Hello, Mr. Li, it’s late. Is there sothing you need?”

Li Shengxiao skipped work and Gu Ming had been busy, working nonstop for the past two days. It was already eight o’clock when he just got ho from the office, took a shower, and received a call from his boss.

“Did you arrange for soone to clean the house at Dihor?”

Gu Ming was puzzled, “…Yes.”

“Did you also ask soone to stock the fridge?”

He was even more confused about what the boss wanted to say, “Mr. Li, is sothing wrong? Did the staff slack off, not clean properly, or did they not stock the fridge according to the list?”

Li Shengxiao narrowed his eyes slightly, “Have you often helped with these things before?”

Gu Ming, “Mr. Li didn’t like going out before, so I’ve always handled these little things.”

Is there sothing wrong with what I’ve done?

With the BOSS being reclusive and busy, without a girlfriend, no one cared for his daily needs. As his right-hand man, I’ve always handled these matters.

“You don’t need to take care of it anymore.”

Gu Ming got anxious, “Mr. Li, have I done sothing wrong?”
