She blushed crimson, her ears turning scarlet as she struggled out of soone’s embrace, coughed awkwardly, and introduced with eyes avoiding their gaze.
"Shengxiao, this is Mr. Nie, the elder I ntioned on the phone who helped . It was all thanks to Mr. Nie that I’m safe and sound this ti."
Li Shengxiao squinted slightly, extended his hand toward the middle-aged man, and in a deep voice, said, "Hello."
She then gestured towards Li Shengxiao, introducing to Chu Aotian, "Mr. Nie, this is my husband, Li Shengxiao."
The word "husband" was sothing she thought she would be embarrassed to say, but she ended up saying it quite smoothly, as if it was the most natural thing.
Just after Rong Yan finished the introductions, she was pulled back again by the waist. Looking down, she saw that it was the sa well-dressed, impressive man who extended a hand to Chu Aotian while pulling her to his side.
Her ears inexplicably grew hot again, and seeing that she couldn’t break free, she decided to stop resisting.
Chu Aotian noticed his small actions as well, raised an eyebrow slightly, and looked ambiguously at the face of the young man before him, unable to discern the other’s intentions.
He got up and placed his hand on Li Shengxiao’s, politely, "Hello."
The two of them shook hands briefly, then imdiately released each other, standing to the side.
Chu Aotian couldn’t quite understand what was happening with himself. When he saw Rong Yan running straight to the young man in front, he inexplicably felt a pang of sourness in his heart. Having lived most of his life, he wasn’t unclear about his own heart. He was very aware the sour feeling in his heart wasn’t the kind of sourness a man felt for a woman, but rather like a father seeing his daughter run into the arms of a stranger. But he and Rong Yan had rely been acquaintances by chance; he didn’t understand why he would have such a paternal feeling.
In his puzzlent, he discreetly scrutinized the man before him. From their brief encounter, he had already perceived that the man had an extraordinary background, and the surna Li seed sowhat familiar to him.
"Your surna is Li, what is Lin Zhiya to you?"
"My mother."
Chu Aotian’s face suddenly darkened, his attitude no longer as friendly as before, "She’s your mother, then you and Miss Rong..."
He paused, seemingly hesitating to voice so thoughts out loud with Rong Yan present.
Rong Yan also sensed his reaction was off, looking at him in confusion, "Mr. Nie? What’s wrong? Do you also know Mrs. Lin?"
Chu Aotian t her eyes that were so similar to his wife’s, suppressing the fury in his chest, and forced a reluctant smile, "...She and I were old friends from long ago, we haven’t seen each other in many years. I didn’t expect such a coincidence to et her son today."
The word ’son,’ he pronounced with particular emphasis.
Being a clever person, Rong Yan could detect his discontent with Li Shengxiao, she pursed her lips and subtly shifted her position to quietly shield the imposing man in front of her.
Chu Aotian naturally noticed her slight movent, and the previously felt sourness in his heart seed to intensify a bit, he twitched his mouth and, without knowing why, explained to Rong Yan, "He and his mother really have been friends for many years, it’s just that everyone has been busy with their own matters in recent years and haven’t had much contact."
Although Rong Yan didn’t understand why he was explaining this to her, she looked at him puzzled and nodded, "That’s really quite a coincidence, I didn’t know Mr. Nie also knew Mrs. Lin."
