Jiang Chenyue was a bit calr than him, just frowned and gestured to stop the person who was getting angry, "Don’t rush, let figure out what’s going on first."

"Aunt, he dared to directly take action against the Chu Family’s people, even sending ’evidence’ to our doorstep. This is outrageous, I can’t pretend it didn’t happen! Otherwise, who would respect the Chu Family in the future?" Qin Jun clenched his fists in anger.

Jiang Chenyue rubbed her brow, "I just think he wouldn’t act without a reason. I’ll make a call and ask."

The atmosphere in the dining room was tense, and Chu Xi didn’t dare to speak recklessly.

She watched as Jiang Chenyue made a call to Li Shengxiao. After the call, her expression grew darker and uglier, until by the end when she hung up, her face was as grim as it could be.

Qin Jun rarely saw her looking so grim. His attention had been focused on Li Shengxiao’s provocative ’gift,’ but now he couldn’t help but ask, "Aunt, what’s wrong?"

Jiang Chenyue’s temples were pulsing. She took a deep breath and said to Qin Jun, "You should go back to your room first."

"?"

There was a fierce look in her eyes, and she heightened her tone, "Are you not listening to anymore?"

"How could I not listen to you?" Qin Jun reluctantly slid away from his seat, gave her a glance, and said, "I’ll go back to my room. Call if you need anything, Aunt."

"Mm."

Before leaving, Qin Jun shot a look towards Chu Xi, a mix of warning and confusion, but since Jiang Chenyue told him to go, he didn’t procrastinate and dutifully went upstairs back to his room.

"You all leave too!"

The butler and servants discreetly exited the dining room.

Once everyone had left and she was alone, Chu Xi’s heart was racing. An unshakeable sense of unease caused her to stand up instinctively, anxiously looking at the woman whose face had been dark and brooding from the start, "...Mrs. Jiang."

Jiang Chenyue fixed her with an oppressive gaze, as if she didn’t recognize her, making Chu Xi feel a chill on her scalp. Her expression beca increasingly guilty, "What’s wrong? Mrs. Jiang. Why are you staring at like that?"

Jiang Chenyue said nothing, staring at her for a full five minutes. During those five minutes, Chu Xi felt like she was on a burning rack, restless and uncomfortable.

She wanted to ask several tis, but under the oppressive atmosphere, she couldn’t open her mouth at all.

She could only stand there, letting Jiang Chenyue stare at her.

After five minutes, the person with the stoic expression finally spoke, "Was it you?"

"Uh. What?" Chu Xi felt completely bewildered, having no clue what she was talking about.

Jiang Chenyue’s expression darkened as she squinted, "I’m asking you, was it you who arranged for Rong Yan to be kidnapped?"

Chu Xi blurted out, "She was kidnapped?"

The joy in her eyes hadn’t faded when she realized Jiang Chenyue was suspecting her. Her heart instantly turned cold, and she quickly shook her head to deny it, "I didn’t know she was kidnapped. She was actually kidnapped? That’s really unlucky. The security in Capital City is so good, she must have offended soone, right?"

Jiang Chenyue sneered, curling her lips as if she didn’t believe her words, "Yes. She offended soone. Do you know whose human skin Li Shengxiao just sent to ?"

Chu Xi’s heart skipped, and unease began to creep over her, "Whose?"

"From Chu Liuqi, the person by your father’s side, the skin from his arm."

All the elites in the Chu Family were numbered, and their numbers were their nas. The one next to Chu Feng was number 67, hence called Chu Liuqi.
