Her brow moved slightly, and her gaze suddenly fell on Rong Yan. She shifted her tone, "...If Mr. Rong is willing to show so sincerity, I can have my manager adjust the schedule."
Ai Wen imdiately responded, "Of course! Our Mr. Rong is definitely sincere in inviting Miss Chu. If Miss Chu could cao in our new project, the project’s overall standing and attention would be completely different. It’s mainly about..."
Before he could finish, Rong Yan interjected coolly, "Sorry, Mr. Ai. Our new project is a high school campus romance coming-of-age drama. Miss Chu’s age might not be suitable for a cao in it."
Her gaze swept over Chu Xi like a tangible blade, and her red lips curled up. "Miss Chu’s age surely wouldn’t require her to cao as a high school student. We’ve already finalized the roles for the teachers. I’d hate to suggest Miss Chu cao as the janitor aunt."
She chuckled sweetly, "Though if Miss Chu is willing to imrse herself in art and challenge herself, I’d be the first to welco her with both hands and feet!"
She actually implied that she’s fit to play the janitor aunt...
Chu Xi’s anger flared easily at the provocation, yet Rong Yan’s smiling deanor made her hesitant to react angrily—lest she appear petty. Even so, the burning fury in her chest left her face pale, unwilling to utter another word!
Ai Wen too was frustrated by Rong Yan, feeling dissatisfied that Rong Yan wouldn’t consider the bigger picture for once and swallow his pride. On top of that, he was equally annoyed at the unrelenting attitude Chu Xi displayed earlier, which had shown him no face at all. Comparing the two, he found it amusing to play diator between them. "Mr. Rong really has a great sense of humor. Miss Chu, please don’t mind."
"Weren’t you looking for Director Tan? She’s in her office, Wang Ying." He sent Wang Ying a knowing glance.
Being quite experienced herself, Wang Ying quickly stepped in to separate the two and said to Chu Xi, "Miss Chu, let take you there. Since it’s your first ti here, I’ll also show you around our company."
She gestured invitingly.
Chu Xi cast a cold glance at Rong Yan, who was lounging lazily and acting indifferent to her presence. Just before they brushed past each other, she said softly, "It seems you know perfectly well who I am. I originally thought your indifference stemd from ignorance. Turns out you’re even thicker-skinned than I imagined. We’ll see."
With that, she followed Wang Ying away.
...
"Mr. Rong, let show you around the company as well," Ai Wen offered as soon as the others had left.
"Ah. Thank you, Mr. Ai."
"No problem."
He took the lead and guided the way forward.
Estelle followed from behind, patting Rong Yan’s shoulder with concern, "Are you alright?"
Rong Yan sent her a calming look and shook her head, indicating she would speak privately later.
Estelle understood that being on soone else’s turf made certain matters inconvenient to discuss. Suppressing her curiosity, she silently followed along as they explored Lemon Entertainnt.
Despite Lemon Entertainnt showing signs of decline over the past two years, its industry standing had diminished year by year, and it didn’t have any standout works to its na—not to ntion its roster of actors, few of whom had managed to make a na for themselves. But even so, a once mighty vessel still carries thousands of nails. Compared to their own small, single-floor company, Lemon occupied an entire high-grade office building with departnts of considerable scale. Besides intangible assets, its environnt was stunningly opulent. Cafes, cafeterias, and tea rooms were all available.
Furthermore, the coffee shop on Lemon Entertainnt’s third floor boasted a sky garden, where tired artists and office workers could relax over a cup of coffee.
The scenery was excellent, the location impeccable. As a film company, Lemon Entertainnt’s decor leaned toward bold, futuristic styles—youthful and brimming with energy.
