Chapter 1341: Chapter 1342: Instead, Unable to Feel Happy

She caught sight of Chu Xi’s disheveled left face and added, “Have them take you to the hospital to treat the wounds on your face so that they don’t leave scars.”

Chu Xi feigned ignorance and nodded obediently, “Alright, Madam.”

“Don’t call Madam anymore, you should call …”

Here it cos!

Chu Xi’s heart raced, waiting for her to continue.

Who would have known that Jiang Chenyue’s brows furrowed tighter and tighter, her eyes sharp as blades, not softening at all, her expression seed to be mixed with disappointnt. She pursed her lips tightly, and amidst Chu Xi’s expectant gaze, she suddenly changed her words halfway, “Never mind, just keep calling that for now.”

Chu Xi was already prepared, the word ‘Mom’ was about to slip out, but Jiang Chenyue’s abrupt change of heart left her in an awkward and embarrassed state, her complexion extrely ugly, yet she had to pretend she didn’t understand, “…okay.”

After the butler sends people away.

Jiang Chenyue sat back on the sofa, heavy-hearted, and lost all appetite for breakfast.

She had been searching for so long, and for the first ti, it seed possible she had found her biological daughter. Yet she didn’t feel the sense of relief and happiness, instead, her chest felt as if it was weighed down by a heavy stone, making it difficult to breathe and her mood oppressive and heavy.

Everything from Chu Xi’s experiences, to her birth month, to the cinnabar mole on her arm matched the information about her daughter. But she couldn’t feel happy at all! Instead, she kept picturing a face with fair, soft features, and those large, clear black-and-white eyes.

She rembered feeling so happy at the prospect of finding her biological daughter, so why couldn’t she feel happy now when there’s soone even more likely?

“Madam.”

Jiang Chenyue was still deep in thought.

A servant who had gone to see the guest off had already returned, walking up respectfully in front of her, bowing his head, and softly reminded, “Miss Chu has left. Which room do you think would be better to prepare for Miss Chu?”

“2…” She paused for two seconds, her brows knitted tightly, still unable to get over her psychological barrier, she instructed, “Just prepare a guest room on the first floor.”

“Choose one of the better rooms, with the best lighting and ventilation, and get it ready.”

The second floor of Chu Garden has direct access to the garden courtyard, and there is a separate villa inside the garden courtyard.

All mbers of the Chu Family reside in the detached villa on the second floor overlooking the garden courtyard, while the first floor is reserved for guests.

This side of the first floor doesn’t lead to the villa and has no access to the garden. Compared to the second floor, the second floor feels like an independent space, isolating the first floor on the outside.

The servant didn’t think so much and imdiately went to do it, “Yes, Madam.”

“Go ahead.” Jiang Chenyue waved her hand and then felt as though what she was doing might not be very nice.

Just before the servant was about to leave, she called out to him, “Wait a mont.”

The servant imdiately stopped, a puzzled look on his face, “Is there anything else you would like to instruct, Madam?”

Jiang Chenyue’s brows were deeply furrowed as she thought, “I rember there is a room with a walk-in closet on the first floor.”

The servant quickly responded, “Yes, Madam. That was the walk-in closet prepared for the young lady by you. Inside it are clothes, accessories, and bags that you bought for the young lady while shopping in dostic malls.”

“Just prepare that room!” Jiang Chenyue’s brows relaxed, telling the confused servant, “Leave everything in the walk-in closet as is, don’t touch any of it.”

“Aren’t those clothes that you bought for…” The servant, uncomprehending, blurted out instinctively.
