The woman who entered from outside was about in her early forties, yet she looked no different from soone in their thirties, with skin so well-kept that no fine lines were discernible. Her exquisitely beautiful features had an air of standoffishness that suggested she was unapproachable, and she appeared quite difficult to engage with.

Following closely by her side was a young, lean man who, from his attire, appeared to be a bodyguard of sorts, never straying from her side.

Mrs. Jiang, who Little Baby had helped in the mall that morning, was so strikingly attractive that Rong Yan could rember her face even after just one encounter.

However, when Rong Yan had t her in the mall, Mrs. Jiang had seed approachable and affable.

Jiang Chenyue had not yet noticed Rong Yan; upon entering, Chenyue had marched straight to the cashier without so much as glancing at any of the cakes in the shop, her tone filled with anticipation, "I heard you have a type of candy here that isn’t sold anywhere else?"

The employee, having never seen such an aristocratic lady before, was montarily stunned before regaining composure, "Uh, yes, we do have it, but I’m sorry, it just sold out."

"Sold out?" Jiang Chenyue had not expected this outco and was visibly dissatisfied, furrowing her brows.

When she wasn’t furrowing her brows, she rely seed aloof; but once her expression darkened, it felt overwhelmingly oppressive.

"So when will new stock arrive? Tomorrow?"

"This..." The employee felt like crying at the question, wondering why the peanut candy that used to be hard to sell was now in such high demand, "I don’t know, only our shop owner knows how to make this candy, and our shop owner has gone back ho to take care of a relative. I don’t know when they’ll return."

Disappointnt was evident on Jiang Chenyue’s face.

The employee, not wanting to see such a beautiful face marked by disappointnt, suggested after so thought, "How about this? You can leave your phone number, and once our shop owner cos back and makes new candy, I’ll call you."

Their shop owner’s grandmother had fallen severely ill, and being the only relative, the owner had to stay by the bedside. It was uncertain when they would return.

If the grandmother’s health improved, the shop owner might be back in ten days to a fortnight.

But if the grandmother did not recover well, it could take several months or even half a year before their return.

The bodyguard, with sharp eyes, spotted a glass jar the employee was preparing to pack and suddenly spoke up, "Madam, she’s holding one jar still!"

Jiang Chenyue looked toward the employee’s hand.

Startled, the employee’s face flushed red as she quickly withdrew her hand and explained, "It’s not that I don’t want to sell it; this jar is the last one we have in the store, and it has already been sold."

Knowing that Jiang iqi always collected unusual, local candies from every place she visited, the bodyguard didn’t take the "it’s been sold" words to heart and bluntly stated, "We’ll pay twice the price."

The employee paused but explained with principle, "I’m sorry, but it has been sold already, it’s not about the money."

"Ten tis the amount," the bodyguard insisted, thinking she was simply holding out for more money, and offered another figure.

The employee, "..."

At two hundred a jar, ten tis would an two thousand. She inhaled sharply, unable to comprehend how the peanut candy that couldn’t be sold beca hot property in just a blink of an eye.

"Ten tis, twenty tis, it’s all fine. You na a price, money is not an issue; our madam wants your candy."

Jiang Chenyue appeared indifferent to the bodyguard’s words. It was typical of the Chu Family’s people to be overbearing, always getting what they wanted, just as they were always fiercely protective of their kin!
