Li Shengxiao listened to her soft voice mumbling complaints about him, and his heart lted completely. With half-closed eyes, holding the phone as if he could feel her warmth through it and could see her expression and tone while she talked, his heart felt like it had a void in it, one that was stored all the way in Capital City, making him ponder the idea of returning there.
“Don’t worry, I won’t punish him over such a small matter.”
Rong Yan breathed a sigh of relief, “Really?”
She blinked her eyes and quickly dolled out a little flattery, praising him, “I knew you were fair and wouldn’t take out personal emotions on others, muah~”
Li Shengxiao pursed his lips tightly, his gaze flickered, and he silently pushed down the idea he had earlier of transferring Gu Ming overseas, “Have you washed up? If you have, get up for lunch. I’ve ordered lunch for you from Juhua Hall.”
He was afraid that if he continued to chat on the phone with her, he might not be able to resist the urge to rush back to Capital City.
“I’ve washed and changed already.” Rong Yan rested her chin on her hand and glanced at the clock on her phone—shoot, it’s 12 o’clock already.
She got up from the bed, stretched lazily, and moved her sore muscles from the night before, “I’m going out to eat, Little Baby is waiting for . You should be nearly ready to have lunch too. Rember to video call when you do; I want to make sure you’re eating properly, or else you’ll find excuses not to eat again.”
“I won’t.”
“I’ll believe you if you video call,” Rong Yan insisted.
The distinguished man couldn’t stand against her persistence and eventually compromised, “I will.”
Rong Yan’s face bead with joy, “It’s a deal, I’ll be waiting.”
“Mhm.” Li Shengxiao listened to the relaxed voice of the little woman on the other end of the line, his heart was so tender it was incredible. A year ago, he couldn’t have imagined that there would co a day when he would be so emotionally dependent on soone, finding even a few days of separation unbearably long.

Rong Yan was about to tell him she was hanging up when she heard him call her and subconsciously made a sound in response.
“I’ll only be in Rui City for a week. Be good and stay in Capital City, waiting for till I co back.”
