Chapter 1104: Chapter 1104: No Room to Maneuver
Dina didn’t use her because the Chu Family intervened. With their enormous influence, she had no reason to let them risk it for her sake. She couldn’t bring herself to ask them either and knew such thoughts were unrealistic. Even if Dina admired her, that admiration wasn’t enough to have others take on significant risks—it only ant they couldn’t cooperate.
She had no grounds for complaints; if she were Dina, perhaps she might have made the sa choice.
After all, they weren’t close nor had any other connection.
Rong Yan looked at the dejected faces in the office, particularly her team mbers, whose shoulders suddenly drooped. Her chest felt tight. She bent over at 90 degrees towards them, sincerely apologizing, “This ti it was my fault that we lost the resources. I am sorry, everyone.”
Estelle was originally furious, almost at the point of arguing with her, but seeing Rong Yan like this, she didn’t know why but a lot of her anger subsided. She leaned on the office desk and said, “Let it be, what’s done is done. You said you tried to salvage it, but since the other party is determined not to cooperate, there’s nothing we can do. After all, they hadn’t signed any agreent with us, so it’s not a breach.”
While she said this, she still felt anxious inside, “But without this resource, your upcoming PR will be difficult. All the plans we discussed this morning need to be readjusted. Do you have any thoughts of your own?”
Her own thoughts…
Rong Yan straightened up, raised her head, her eyes clear as she scanned the office and said, “I’m thinking of not doing any PR for now.”
Estelle’s temples throbbed suddenly, and her recently eased expression darkened again, her look not just serious but stern, “What nonsense are you spouting? No PR, do you no longer want to stay in showbiz? Everyone has supported you until now; when there’s a problem, we solve it. If you give up, how can everyone continue to strive for solutions?”
She couldn’t understand what was wrong with Rong Yan today; she wasn’t usually like this, and today she was particularly infuriating.
“Just like that, Rong Yan, we can find a solution to any problem. Mr. Nick and the director are here, surely we can figure out a good solution,” a junior assistant also chid in.
The director from KT spoke as well, “Rong Yan, the company is definitely on your side. I know the pressure from the public opinion outside has been a lot these past few days, but you can’t just give up recklessly. Let’s discuss together; the company will respect your team’s thoughts.”
The man in the suit, however, maintained a cold deanor throughout, his ice-blue eyes scrutinizing Rong Yan as if pondering why she had said such a thing.
Yet, Rong Yan remained resolute, “I still want to take a break, give myself a vacation. For the next half-month, I want to do normal PR, just managing public opinion.”
“Why choose now to rest? This is a crucial mont for you, whether you advance further or stay still depends on this,” Estelle didn’t understand. “I know since you joined the competition, you haven’t had a break, and it’s normal to feel exhausted. Once this period is over, I’ll arrange so ti off for you. There’s no need to rest at this mont.”
Rong Yan showed no signs of changing her mind, remaining firmly resolute, “No, Estelle, I’ve already decided. For the next half-month, I’ll focus on resting. You don’t need to fetch big resources; I have so personal matters to attend to.”
Estelle’s chest heaved, her eyebrows knitting together, “What personal matter is so important that you’re willing to forsake your work?”
