(Arata)

I woke up fresh the next day. The golden rays of the sun were peeking through my curtain, insisting for to wake up.

My phone was pressed underneath , I had slipped into a slumber right after sending that embarrassing voice note to Azul.

Snatching it out of underneath , I tried to check the ssages but found the battery had drained and the phone had switched off.

Throwing my blanket off, I lazily crawled out of my bed like a sloth. Sundays are supposed to be spent in bed, and that was exactly what I had planned, but I needed to charge my phone.

Plugging it into the charger, I hurried to the washroom for my morning routine but didn’t bother changing my clothes.

Grabbing a quick breakfast of toast and orange juice I jumped back into the bed after grabbing a book.

The scent of the new pages invigorated my senses and I took a deep inhale as my fingers traced the paper.

The feeling of a good book in my hands always lifted my mood.

I was going to be lazy today and read my romantasy. Last night’s adventure had tired out. My legs still ached but my body felt extrely satisfied and full.

The day dawned into noon while I remained snuggled under my blanket with my several pillows. I needed quite a few to sleep, I loved pillows.

Finally, the climax in the book dropped and I decided to take a pause and grabbed my phone.

Turning it on, I saw the notification of missed calls from Baba. I knew he would be worried sick, seeing my number was switched off so I knew I had to call him.

Hitting the call button, I placed the phone on my ear. The phone only rang once and Baba instantly picked up the call.

"Arata Chan! Is everything alright? Why was your phone switched off?" His frantic voice ca through. I knew he would be deeply concerned.

"Baba, I am good. My phone’s battery drained so it got switched off. Sorry, I made you worry."

I could feel how tense he must have gotten at the ti when his call wasn’t going through.

"Oh! I see. How are you?"

"I am good, Baba. How about you?" I asked softly.

"We miss you, my moonshine. Co visit us." My heart jolted at the sadness in his voice. I knew Zaylen’s birthday was coming. So maybe I could surprise them.

"I miss you even more and will visit soon. Please, don’t worry about ." I tried to calm his heart, knowing how he would always dive deep into tensions and apprehensions.

"You are taking care of your health, right? Is there anything you need? You have enough money?" He threw question after question towards and I knew there wouldn’t be a male who would love more than my Baba.

"Babaaa! I am fine and I have everything. Quit worrying. How is Mom and Grandma?" I asked, picking up a pillow and taking it under my arm.

"Both amazing and shining like two bright lights in my life." He never let an opportunity pass to not praise them. Leading by example for Zaylen, too, on how to treat his woman when he was going to find the right one.

"Give them my love and to Bitu as well."

"I will. Take care of yourself, Ara. If there is anything, just call your Baba. I love you to the Milky Way and back." His words lted my heart and emotions clogged my throat. I couldn’t speak for a few seconds, trying to swallow the lump in my throat.

This was his way of expressing the love he held for .

"Will do, Baba. I love you to Androda and back," I answered, trying not to choke on my words and I heard his hearty laugh.

"I know." The call ended, leaving emotional. Clicking on the Gallery icon, I took out our family picture. We visited our beach villa last year and made these happy mories.

Zaylen was pulling Stella’s ear; Baba was holding Mom, and I sat near Grandma’s knee while Aunt Huria and Uncle Rais posed with their best smiles.

The picture made realise I was missing everyone imnsely and needed to plan a trip soon.

Sighing, I hugged the picture, trying to feel close to my family and sat there in silence, trying not to cry.

Tomorrow! I will speak to Karsten about taking a few days off and visiting my family. I should have checked the ssages he had sent yesterday but I will face the devil tomorrow. I didn’t wish to ruin my mood.

The rest of the day passed with getting ready for the office and cleaning my apartnt. Caysir bought groceries so I didn’t have to leave my place at all.

The next day, I left for the office with the determination of a woman with a bone to pick with her boss.

Fixing his morning coffee and saying the morning prayer over it so it was as black as the darkest night and as bitter as the water trickling from a squeezing bitter gourd. I took the coffee to him and pressed the logo on his door.

The permission was quickly granted, so pushing the door open I entered, carrying his coffee.

The sun must have risen from the west that day.

The ever-sulking Karsten Chevalier was smiling as he leaned against his liquor cabinet with all his expensive collection neatly packed behind the glass cases.

Pouring himself a brandy from a square decanter, Karsten appeared to have stepped out of a fashion magazine today. With his polished-to-perfection Oxfords, well-ironed dress pants and a skin-hugging navy blue shirt with his top buttons remaining unhooked.

The golden yellow liquid swirled in the glass.

~Swish~

Seriously? He was going to start his day with brandy.

"Good morning! Your coffee?" I phrased it more like a question.

"Morning, place it on my desk," his heavy voice ca as his eyes glead slyly. Sothing was going on in his mind.

Slowly he dangled the glass between his index finger and thumb while thrusting his left hand into his pockets and sauntered towards on his graceful legs.

I stared, rather shalessly.

At a distance of a few feet, he halted and asked with his lips half upturning. But his words left more than stunned.

"So did you reach your orgasm? Did thinking about help?"
