(Arata)

Those dusky, smooth strands of his partially obscured his sable-shaded peepers, which seed to pierce through my defences. He didn’t move or speak for a few frustratingly long seconds before snaking his thickly muscled arms around my back tighter and pushing closer to his flat and hard chest.

The air seed to have left my lungs completely at his action as his head dipped and his supple lips touched my temple.

"Then we will give them a show, just go along with it." His feverish breath fanned my face making tingles dance all over my skin. That cologne of his had mingled with the sll of the cigarette and it didn’t help my case either.

Stupidly, I nodded, but for the love of anything, I couldn’t relax. This man put on edge.

I knew there was a window near the foyer which opened into the garden and his mother and sister were most probably watching us.

His hands rubbed on my back in a warming rhythm and this ti it was him who said.

"Relax!"

He could feel the tenseness in my body?

But I took his advice and inhaled deeply, filling my lungs with oxygen and letting it out slowly. To ease the awkwardness I was experiencing, I asked.

"So, will you tell why you are in such a bad mood?"

He continued to stare down at , his lips perked up slightly, almost mockingly, as he answered.

"Haven’t you t my mother?"

I nodded almost sympathetically and boldly shifted my hands to cup his rugged face.

I had imagined him to stiffen at my actions, but he didn’t. Instead, he seed to have relaxed.

"Families are not always easy."

A little surprise passed over his face as he continued to stare back at . I knew he didn’t like being controlled, and that’s what his mother did; he hated it and, at the sa ti, respected his mother.

"My mother’s life was not easy. She raised alone, and that’s why I have a lot of respect for her, but..." he didn’t complete his sentence but left it hanging.

I understood what he ant.

"Communication is fundantal to building and strengthening relationships. You can talk to ." I offered a genuine smile.

He retreated his right hand, snaked it through his dark locks, pulling them away from his eyes and then bringing his hand closer to my face. His rough knuckles rubbed against my cheek which was burning and reddening with every second.

For a man so rugged his touch was gentle. It didn’t seem foreign and I wondered how I was going to avoid the awkwardness later.

"Let’s stay like this for a while and then head inside. We will have to share the room today."

Another tingle of warming sensation spread through and all I could do was nod. Just one more day of acting, I was going to survive this.

Instead of staring at him, I concentrated on the wild blue rose vines which twined themselves around the pergola’s bamboo poles. A single white butterfly fluttered on it suckling on the rich nectar these wild roses produced.

And then both his hands slipped to my waist and he rubbed them painfully slowly as if feeling my curves.

"Arata!" He huskily called out, returning my attention to himself.

Our eyes locked again, and there was a sense of urgency in his gaze, a hunger, too. His upturned lashes blinked and I could see the spidery red veins in his sclera.

So close, he was so close to .

"They are spying from the window, so don’t freak out because I am going to kiss you," he slowly said, that dark, hypnotic gaze of his falling to my lips.

He waited for my response.

I gulped at his words, the ache in my lower belly intensified and it was not just from the cramps.

He still waited, letting make up my mind. When I agreed to be his girlfriend, this was supposed to happen.

’It’s just a kiss, Arata.

It ans nothing.

You kissed a total stranger, even had sex with him. This is a harmless kiss to put your boss’s family off his back.

It won’t matter.’ I reminded myself and found my head to be bobbing up and down.

Like a prey swooping in, he seed to have been waiting for his grip on my waist tightened and his lips ca tumbling down on mine.

I should have known, should have been prepared but I wasn’t.

Not for how smoothly he claid .

He savoured my mouth like enjoying an expensive delicacy, slow and sensual.

The man knew how to kiss and I was reminded of Twisted Rider.

The flowers seed to bloom in my belly. Has spring co?

Why did I feel so warm?

I should have only acted, but my hands rubbed the sharp edges of his face, and I leaned into his kiss, letting his soft caresses turn on. Letting his hands pull taut against his well-defined body, feeling the dips and ravines his muscles had crafted.

Letting our breaths mingle, letting the tip of his tongue nudge inside .

He tasted like tobacco, but at that mont, I didn’t mind or care; all I wanted was for his lips to stay on mine, for his hands to feel my flesh. His heat travelled through my dress and branded ; his lips hijacked mine, and his tongue sought what lay inside my mouth.

So surreal, I couldn’t have imagined Karsten Chevalier would be such a gentle kisser for his personality was way dominating. The kiss was in a whole contrast to how he was.

The Twisted Rider had dominated , devouring raw as if there was no tomorrow for us. Like a sudden blast of pleasure and flavours, that’s how Azul’s kiss had felt.

But Karsten was like the evening transitioning into the night, slowly and steadily sponging away the daylight from the world. The feeling of his lips was like the velvety petals of flowers brushing against my hungered mouth.

My heart grew impatient, my hands tightened on his face but he didn’t pick up the pace.

Feelings there were so many feelings to his embracing lips as if he possessed all the ti in the world to make his lover swoon.

And just how gently he had begun, Karsten parted his lips from mine, leaving utterly frustrated.

He pressed his forehead on mine. Closing his eyes he just held there while both of us caught our breaths.

"Sorry, I had to make it real..." he hoarsely whispered and opened his deep whirling black pools of emotions. They watched with such intensity—the one I couldn’t even understand.

"It’s... fine," I stumbled with words.

He shifted around, and now, instead of him leaning against the bamboo pole, he pressed into it. The right hand left my waist and moved above my head. I wondered what he was doing when he plucked a blue rose from the vine. Carefully, he placed it in my hair right above my left ear and quietly said.

"You remind of a blue rose, Arata."
