(Arata)

Ranold’s mother fisted my hair and dragged my head up. A snickering smile on her lips as if enjoying my misery.

My head exploded from pain. The woman had an iron grip.

"Feeling disgusted? Let make you more when you learn the truth about your parents."

I helplessly watched, remaining silent for now. Not giving them any ammunition to use against . I was more worried about the unborn life inside my belly than myself.

Ranold dragged a chair from the corner of the room, and the scraping sound against the hard floor irritated my ears.

I tried not to wince from the erupting pain in my scalp.

He placed the chair opposite and helped his mother settle into it. She let go of my hair.

"Tell her mom. I am sure her perfect parents never did. Tell her that they are murderers and killers," Ranold spat out. Hatred had fully occupied that smiling face of his.

How he had transford from this cheerful and teasing guy to this hateful person was astounding.

And I couldn’t believe what they were saying about my parents. They would never hurt a soul. The world had wronged them in so many ways, and yet they had remained steadfast, not turning into evil people.

"My parents would never hurt an innocent person," I defiantly said, and both of them just stared at and then burst out laughing.

"How delusional, they have kept you. Let enlighten." The woman leaned back in the chair and elegantly folded her arms in her lap. Ranold stood beside her with his hand on his mother’s left shoulder.

"Did you know your mother was married to another man before she cheated on him with your father?" She asked with a hint of derision.

My heart drowned, and I knew the little bits of my mother’s past. She was married to so sicko before Baba.

Mom still occasionally t up with her ex-mother-in-law, Amsilia Blackthorn, and she was friends with Grandma and sotis visited us.

Elders refused to give many details, but what I had gathered from the old videos and the court case, which Mom won against her ex-husband, Doran Blackthorn. He was a sick person who assaulted her throughout her marriage to him. After the divorce, he kidnapped her when she was pregnant with .

The topic was super sensitive, and both Mom and Baba refused to discuss it with us. Maybe they tried to shield us from the horrors they had faced.

I had learnt most of the stuff from the internet. But Mom had spoken to once and told that she was in a super abusive relationship until Baba saved her. And when that man ca for my Baba, she was the one who stood beside her husband and shielded him.

I had seen her old press conferences, and she was a badass, the way she defended Baba.

So proud, I was extrely proud of them.

No way was I going to believe these delusional people who sohow had this notion that it was normal to kidnap soone and ntally and physically torture them.

With every second, they were proving why my parents warned against such people.

"You an the man who used to torture her and almost killed her after kidnapping her while she was pregnant?" I couldn’t help myself and answered back. My eyes road from the woman to Ranold.

"Shut your fucking hole before I shut it for you," Ranold blazed, the coldness in his eyes was terrifying and now I was reminded where I had seen that eye colour before. I had seen pictures of Doran Blackthorn. Although I didn’t rember much of his face, the eyes were exactly like his. They were a very particular icy blue colour.

"That’s my father you are talking about, you bitch. Your mother didn’t deserve him. He was supposed to be married to my Mom, but your parents killed him."

I blinked. So, he was Doran’s son?

But, what was he talking about? My parents killed him? Didn’t he run away?

It was his mom’s turn to speak and my confused eyes shifted towards her.

"I was his secretary and Doran was mine. We were going to get married and spend our lives together." Annoyance blazed in her eyes.

"Just when I beca pregnant with his child, he went after your slut mother to teach her one final lesson. I don’t even know what he saw in her, she never deserved him."

Yeah! Seed like this Doran guy really deserved this twisted sociopathic woman sitting in front of .

"If you were pregnant with his child, why did he co for my Mom? Shouldn’t he have married you? Started a family with you?"

I asked, trying to wrap my head around what this demonic-looking woman was saying.

"I didn’t get the opportunity, he had already kidnapped your whore mother. So I gave him ti and hoped he would just kill her. But before we could get to that part, he just disappeared, and your mother was rescued."

She shook her head in disappointnt. Ranold’s hand gently squeezed his mother’s shoulder while he watched with disgust.

"Now, the problem is, I knew Doran better than anyone. He wouldn’t just disappear and not contact . I knew all of his hiding spots, which no one else did. I visited them but found him nowhere and assud the worst. So I tried to flee Angel City but was captured at the airport."

Pain passed over her face as Ranold held both of her shoulders. Concern ran deep in his eyes for his mother.

She continued to narrate her story.

"My lawyer had to fight tooth and nail to keep my pregnancy a secret and get a minimum sentence because of my condition. I was afraid your parents would make disappear, too. I know, down in my bones, that they killed my man. Now, you would ask how I am so sure?"

She delicately brushed away tears from her face and she boldly faced with her twisted story spilling through her botched lips.

"I went to see Doran’s mother, taking a newborn Ranold with so his grandmother could et him. But she was going sowhere, so I followed her. To my surprise, she visited an unmarked grave. Sat beside it and cried for hours. That was the mont I knew Doran had been secretly killed and buried. That was the reason police never found him. His mother, who should have inford the police of what was done to her son, chose to stay quiet. She is a loser."

The woman sniffled again, and Ranold lovingly patted her shoulder, offering her a tissue from his pocket. She dabbed her eyes before continuing.

"That’s when I decided to seek revenge from your parents and destroy them. It took a long ti, but finally I got you. Their beloved daughter. Now they will understand the pain of losing a loved one."

So this was all a revenge plan. They were going to emotionally torture my parents using .

"I wish we had killed her the day we tried to run her down with the car, but this is going to be more fun. I can’t wait to cut off her pieces."

Ranold’s glacial eyes shone with such coldness that I felt my heart freeze over while my mind reverted back to the incident which gave that scar on my temple.
