(Arata)

The whole night I slept in his arms, every ti I shuddered just a fraction, his hold on would tighten, keeping glued to his sweltering body.

He whispered sothing each ti, too, but I was too sleepy to decipher.

Mr Cold was Mr Warm now.

To my dismay, I woke up alone nestled between many soft pillows, the dolphin one in my embrace.

Instantly I missed his warmth and strong arms.

And then the night’s events played like a film in front of my eyes. A blush descended on my cheeks which should have mixed with mortification.

But all I felt was this warm glow that seed to have thrown open my heart and settled right inside.

And its na was, Karsten.

At that mont, I knew, no matter what I was going to do from that point forward, that haughty, difficult, broody and moody man had taken residence in my heart.

The fact that he had gone above and beyond for —tortured soone for sohow settled as a sign of deep care in my twisted mind.

How was I going to get myself out of this situation?

He cared for but he was never going to go beyond that point but sleeping with him had sealed the deal for .

My mind was consud with his thoughts, his well-built body, the snake tattoo that had gazed at while he buried himself inside my wetness.

Insanely hot, my body began to heat up just from his thoughts.

I knew I was screwed. How was I going to keep my desires hidden and be professional?

He had made it abundantly clear that I should never mix what happens between us under the pretence of our fake relationship with my job as his secretary.

Sighing, I lifted my battered body off the mattress, and my eyes shifted towards the nightstand. I found my phone, a folded paper along with chocolates, a glass of water and a single pill.

Extending my hand, I grabbed the note and unfolded it.

"Blue Rose...

Rest as much as you can, I had to head to the office but will try to return early. Tell Asbela to fetch you breakfast and anything else you need, she will change the dressing on your hands.

Take the pill..."

He left a note and the pill like I had suggested. Was his care genuine? Or was he only faking it because of the contract we had signed?

Picking up the tablet I contemplated for a few seconds before popping it into my mouth and downing it with water.

Removing the blanket I headed for the bathroom. I needed to pee, and Asbela could apply dicine and change my dressing afterwards.

I desperately needed a shower but knew I couldn’t get my bandages wet. I would have to take help from Asbela.

Calling her through the phone I told her to bring so breakfast.

Then, I grabbed my phone and unlocked it. Using the tip of my index finger, which was uncovered, I opened my text ssages to see what Karsten had sent to Baba.

Intrigue got the best of as I opened the text.

{Baba, I am well just busy with so work. I will call you soon. Take care.}

The way he had written Baba, made smile. He had paid attention to my words and knew I called my dad, Baba.

Karsten was smart and sotis I thought he was too smart for his own good.

With difficulty, I typed another text and sent it to Baba, ensuring he wouldn’t worry about . There were texts from Mom, Zaylen and Stella as well and I replied through voice notes, unable to properly use my hands.

Then I clicked open my secured app, saw Azul’s unread ssages, and heaved a sigh of relief.

Karsten hadn’t lied; although he knew my password, he didn’t open my other apps or breach my privacy more than required.

Azul had replied to my text where I had asked him to reply to so I could bitch about Karsten, but right now, I didn’t feel like it.

So I simply sent him a voice note asking how he was doing and when his next video would be uploaded.

Asbela arrived with a tray of hot soup and so freshly baked bread soon after and my heart eased seeing her.

Putting away my phone I turned my attention towards her as she said with a smile—drawing the curtains away from the life-size window and lifting the skylight ceiling so sun rays could pour in.

"Good morning! Arata, you seem better."

"Good morning! I am. Need to change these and if you could help with the bath?" I requested, showing her my hands. "Also the bedsheets."

"Don’t worry I got you covered." Asbela set the tray down and started feeding breakfast.

"So, Master seed in a good mood today. Did he stay the night with you?" She asked with a wink, unable to hold herself back. I could sense the mischief in her words.

"He did. Was he really in a good mood?" I was curious now.

"Yes, he was. He almost smiled at while giving instructions." She lowered her voice and almost whispered the last words. "He never smiles."

Damn! Even his house helper complained of his non-smiling face.

I couldn’t help but snicker.

"Tell about it. In the beginning, I thought sothing was wrong with his face," I confided to Asbela, and she giggled while feeding soup.

We gossiped like two old friends; Asbela had this calming effect about her, which eased one to open up to her.

After breakfast, she wrapped a plastic material around my hands so she could give a bath without wetting my hands.

It was awkward shedding my clothes in front of her, but she told to relax. She had been a nurse practitioner before coming to work for Karsten, so it was just a normal sight for her.

I eased down with her when she handled my body with care and didn’t pass any remarks. She added so healing salts in my bathtub.

Once she had bathed and wrapped in a towel gown, we exited the bathroom. She helped with my clothes and then we sat down. She changed my dressing and covered my shoulder wound with ointnt.

"Thank you! Asbela."

She bead at and offered.

"Would you like to go and sit in the garden? The weather is quite pleasant." The filtering sunlight through the glass was inviting and I took her invitation and headed out to sit in the beautiful garden of my boss.

The one I had slept with.

The reality was finally sinking in and to my surprise I was not ashad.
