(Arata)

I had completely lost control of him.

What the hell was wrong with ?

Instead of convincing him to believe in love, I was falling into his trap of keeping it casual.

If his phone hadn’t rang, I would never have stopped him.

How desperately I had clung to him.

What was even happening to ?

Changing the dress, I slipped into the soft bed, but sleep had evaded ; only Karsten’s thoughts invaded my brain like a parasite.

Tossing and turning for a long ti, I gave up on sleeping. It wasn’t going to co. Grabbing my tablet, I proceeded to the one-seater sofa and cuddled up on it with the dolphin-shaped cushion. Covering myself with the throw blanket, I relaxed in its softness.

For a while, I watched the slow swimming fish, which cald my erratically beating heart. Their assortnt of colours attracted the onlookers as they swam with such a smooth rhythm.

Then I opened my App and began to read Mom’s latest book.

The male lead was as charismatic as Karsten and it didn’t help satisfy the thirst within . The thought of texting Azul and seeing if he was available did cross my mind. But I couldn’t just run to him every ti I was left frustrated because of my unhealthy attraction towards my boss.

I had no clue when I drifted to sleep while resting on the sofa.

My alarm woke up, and my neck had gone extrely stiff because of being bent at such an odd angle.

"Urggh!" I placed my hand on my neck and pressed it in the other direction.

"Bad, bad idea to sleep on a one-seater sofa." I reprimanded myself, dragging my body out of the throw-in blanket and rushing to the bathroom to get dressed and changed.

Asbela knocked on the door, seeking permission as I stepped out of the bathroom in my towel gown and bathroom slippers. Granting her access, I let her enter.

"Good morning, Arata," she greeted .

"Good morning, Asbela." I waved my hand in my wet hair.

"Let know what you would like for breakfast; I will inform the chef and then help you with your hair," she calmly said, moving closer to the wall phone.

"So orange juice and cheese sandwiches with a boiled egg."

She cheerfully nodded at my request. Calling to place the order, she returned to my side and grabbed the hair brush plus rechargeable hair dryer.

I settled down near the vanity mirror as she dried, brushed and pinned up my hair. I had decided not to wear the wig anymore and wished to inform Miranda and Chan about my real identity, I trusted them, so there was no point hiding from them anymore.

Karsten’s words from last night still echoed in my mind, and the urge to just open my hair twisted my insides. But I had to be professional; I couldn’t go to the office with open hair.

Wearing my peach-shaded pantsuit and grabbing my handbag, I was ready to head downstairs.

To my dismay, I didn’t find Karsten on the dining table. My gaze wavered to see if he was around. Asbela must have observed my wandering eyes so she explained.

"Master doesn’t eat breakfast and usually just drinks a glass of his smoothie or a cup of coffee before heading to the office."

"I see." Settling down in my chair, I finished up my breakfast when Asbela inford that Karsten was waiting for in his car.

Thanking her for the scrumptious al and helping to get ready, I got up and headed out.

Olphi was waiting for as I stepped out of the villa. My eyes still wandered around to fully take in the beauty of Karsten’s place. He respectfully nodded at and guided towards the car.

My heart slightly raced at the prospect of seeing him again and the previous night’s events flashed in front of my eyes.

Opening the door, he let enter the car and Karsten’s heady scent invaded my senses.

"Good morning, Sir," I greeted him, turning my head to take a proper look at my Icicle of a boss. With every passing day, he was becoming less cold and more hotter.

The darkest shade of the blue in existence had been used to craft the suit he was donning today. His thighs were snug against the smooth fabric as he sat with finesse, which ca naturally to Karsten Chevalier.

Freshly shaven, that citrus oceanic scent of his aftershave had drawing in more oxygen than I had intended.

Smooth, the skin of his face seed so smooth that I wanted to run a finger along the edges of his jaw and those Cupid lips as if God had taken extra ti to shape them.

’Please! Don’t bring up last night.’

’Please! Don’t bring up last night.’ The mantra was on repeat in my brain.

"Morning, Arata; I hope you slept well," he asked in his smokingly smooth voice.

’Yeah! Thanks to that knee-weakening kiss, I couldn’t sleep most of the night, and when I did, I did it on the sofa, so now my neck is screaming.’

I was staring.

Damn! I was staring at him.

Flashing him a warm smile, to hide my mortification, I answered.

"I did, thank you."

The car began to move.

"Good, because today is going to be a busy day. The eting with the board of directors should go smoothly. Learn as much about them as you can. Especially, their nas and those of their partners, spouses and girlfriends. Rember none of them will have their daughters with them even if the won on their arms appear of that age."

I cringed so badly at this information that Karsten made no attempt to mask his smirk.

"Noted, all are perverts. I hope not pedos, though, because I won’t be able to hold back."

"Relax! So girls may be young, but they will be of adult age. I just warned you so it won’t co as a shock," he snorted, drumming his fingers on his knee.

"Ways of so wealthy people rattle to my bones but I can be discreet if they are not hurting anyone." My eyes stayed on his hands and my mind began to reel to what kind of pleasures they could bring.

His watch flashed a happy face and the quote appeared.

{There is no path to happiness. Happiness is the path. (Buddha)}

He constantly wore the watch I had gifted him and this quote revealed he was rry.

"I trust in you; that’s why you will be accompanying ," he answered matter of factly.

My boss trusted to act appropriately on such events and I was not going to disappoint him.
