My Brother's the Protagonist? Good Thing I Awakened My System! Chapter 188 Feng Yun Is Next!
The crowd erupted once more, their excitent reignited by the announcent of the second match.
Perhaps it was fate—or so kind of joke that fate has it—that Feng Yun's na was called imdiately after Ling iyu's.
But the crowd was all for it!
"Feng Yun of the Feng Clan? Isn't he the one who rose from being a cripple to a genius?"
"And Jian Xian from Spirit Wind Palace! He's one of their strongest young disciples. This match is going to be intense!"
"I heard Jian Xian mastered the Gale Sword Art to perfection. He's no pushover!"
"Feng Yun might be strong, but can he handle soone from Spirit Wind Palace? This will be interesting."
"Grand Qi Condensation Realm versus Grand Qi Condensation Realm. It just keeps getting better! I just hope this fight doesn't end as quickly as the last one though."
….
The lingering excitent from the first match flared to life once more as the next contestants were announced.
Feng Yun rose from his seat, his expression calm yet confident.
The timing was unexpected, but it didn't matter to him whether he fought first or last. All he had to do was win.
"Brother Yun, good luck!"
Feng i called out, her voice filled with encouragent.
"Don't hold back, Feng Yun!"
Feng Liang added. Of course, he wouldn't have said those words if he'd known that Feng Yun was already in the Three Elents Divine Realm.
"Show them what the Feng Clan is capable of."
Feng Yun nodded, his deanor relaxed.
"Don't worry. I'll finish this quickly and co back."
He stepped into the arena, his every movent exuding a quiet power that imdiately drew the crowd's attention.
Many in the audience had already seen him during the selection phase, but the people from the sects were seeing him for the first ti.
"So he is Feng Yun? The Ex-fiance of Ling iyu! He doesn't look strong."
"Not too bad looking!"
"Perhaps our sect should recruit him after this competition."
In the Mystic Fla Sect's seating area, Ling iyu's gaze sharpened as she watched Feng Yun step into the arena.
This was the first ti she had seen him in person since their Three-Year Promise.
Her eyes narrowed slightly, studying his every move.
Despite his opponent being the renowned genius of Spirit Wind Palace, Feng Yun showed no sign of fear.
( Interesting! ) Ling iyu thought.
Considering how fearless he had been in front of her even back when he was only in the Qi Gathering Stage, it wasn't too surprising.
Whether it is just fake bravado or not is yet to be seen.
Beside her, Yuan Ziyan noticed her focused expression and chuckled softly.
"iyu, how do you feel seeing him after all these years? He's not bad, right?" Yuan Ziyan teased, clearly referring to Feng Yun's appearance more than his strength.
Ling iyu didn't respond imdiately.
"Mmm… We'll find out soon enough." She replied calmly, interpreting Yuan Ziyan's comnt as a reference to Feng Yun's abilities rather than his looks.
On the other side, Jian Xian entered the arena with a composed deanor.
He had one clear instruction to follow.
"Finish this in a minute," Gao Mingrui had ordered before Jian Xian left.
Gao didn't want Ling iyu's reputation to increase further. By having Jian Xian replicate Ling iyu's earlier swift victory, Gao aid to prove that defeating another Grand Qi Condensation cultivator quickly wasn't as remarkable as it seed.
Jian Xian nodded confidently. He couldn't disobey Gao's command, and he believed it would be easy for him to execute. After all, he was in the Mid-Level Grand Qi Condensation Realm, second only to Gao Mingrui in Spirit Wind Palace.
Dressed in the signature flowing robes of Spirit Wind Palace, Jian Xian's presence was both elegant and sharp, like an unsheathed blade.
A sleek, silver sword rested at his side, and his piercing gaze scanned Feng Yun, mistaking him for an overconfident amateur with little experience.
The announcer's voice bood across the arena.
"Both participants, are you ready?"
Jian Xian nodded, his hand resting lightly on the hilt of his sword. He was going to go full strength the mont the match started.
"Ready."
Feng Yun offered a slight smile and nodded.
"I'm ready as well."
"Then let the match comnce!"
The mont the words left the announcer's lips, Jian Xian moved.
SWISH!
He unsheathed his sword in a flash, a gust of wind swirling around him as he activated the Gale Sword Art.
His blade shimred with a greenish glow, and in an instant, he closed the distance between them, slashing toward Feng Yun with incredible speed.
But Feng Yun remained unfazed.
With a subtle shift in his stance, Feng Yun raised his sword, eting Jian Xian's strike with a burst of qi that surged through the blade, sending a shockwave rippling through the arena.
CLANG!
The clash of their energies echoed loudly. Jian Xian's eyes widened slightly in surprise as his blade was deflected.
"Not bad!" Jian Xian said, regaining his composure.
"But let's see if you can block this one."
Jian Xian's expression turned serious as he stepped back, his sword glowing with an intense green light.
The air around him began to swirl, forming a vortex of wind that grew sharper with every passing second.
He lifted his blade, the green energy coalescing into a focused arc along its edge.
The crowd held their breath as they sensed the imnse power radiating from him. They knew that Jian Xian wasn't playing around and was going to unleash a powerful attack.
"Gale Severance Strike!"
The wind howled as he swung his blade, releasing a crescent-shaped wave of wind energy that shot toward Feng Yun at blinding speed.
The sheer force of the attack caused the ground beneath it to crack and the arena to tremble.
"He's done for!"
"There's no way he can block that!"
"Feng Yun is just standing still. Did he freeze from fear?"
Even Ling iyu's gaze sharpened as she watched the devastating attack close in on Feng Yun.
But Feng Yun didn't move.
He seed like he had already given in to his fate.
BOOM!
The Gale Severance Strike collided with Feng Yun, the impact generating a deafening explosion.
Dust and debris filled the arena, obscuring the battlefield from view.
"Direct hit!"
"Damn! There's no way Feng Yun could survive getting hit by such a powerful attack."
"Shouldn't the referee save Feng Yun? Why is he not doing anything?"
The spectators were convinced the fight was over.
As the dust began to settle, a single figure stood tall—Feng Yun, completely unscathed.
His sword rested lazily in his hand, its blade gleaming under the sunlight.
"What… what just happened?"
"Did he block it? No way!"
"Maybe he dodged it at the last second?"
Jian Xian stood frozen, his eyes wide in shock.
He opened his mouth to speak but stumbled forward, coughing violently.
A spurt of blood escaped his lips as he fell to his knees, his sword slipping from his grasp.
The arena erupted in chaos.
"What happened to Jian Xian? He was the one attacking!"
"Did Feng Yun counter him?"
"Just what the hell is happening?"
The one they had expected to be defeated stood completely unscathed, while the attacker was left coughing up blood, leaving the spectators utterly bewildered.
As Jian Xian collapsed, Feng Yun took a step forward, his sword pointed at Jian Xian's neck.
It was over!
The announcer then announced the result imdiately amidst the confusion.
"Jian Xian is unable to continue! The winner is Feng Yun of the Feng Clan!"
The crowd erupted into a mix of cheers and stunned murmurs.
"That was incredible! What did he do?"
"Feng Yun didn't just block that attack; he countered it flawlessly! And he barely moved!"
"I am in the Grand Qi Condensation Realm and I even failed to see what happened."
The result was announced but the crowd was still confused about what had occurred.
In the Mystic Fla Sect's seating area, Ling iyu was also watching.
Weak people might have missed it but how could she?
She along with other powerful people all saw what happened in the split second when the Jian Xian's attack was about to hit Feng Yun.
He sidestepped and then headed towards Jian Xian at an abnormal speed and attacked him.
Even Jian Xian didn't grasp or know about it until blood flowed out from his abdon.
Yuan Ziyan, sitting beside her, clapped enthusiastically. "Wow! That was amazing! He's stronger than I expected."
Well, only she seed to be enthusiastically among the Mystic Fla Sect as others just frowned at the winner.
They still considered Feng Yun as their enemies especially since the whole fiasco with the Feng Clan and Ling iyu.
So were also not happy with Yuan Ziyan's excitent over their enemies victory though other than Ling iyu, no one could tell anything to her.
Perhaps Elder Chi could but she wasn't going to scoop to the level where she will interfere with things between juniors.
Back in the arena, Feng Yun sheathed his sword, his movents unhurried and composed. He turned and began walking back to his seat, leaving Jian Xian to be carried off by dics.
However, before he left, he cast a final glance at Ling iyu!
