Lu Xing’s words made Old Sir Lu feel uncomfortable, and he started to mutter to himself, "Seems like things are not going smoothly."
Looking at Old Sir Lu, Lu Xing was ninety percent sure of his suspicions. Sure enough, unable to sit still, Old Sir Lu stood up and went to the bedroom. Lu Xing squinted his eyes over, a confident smile appearing on his lips.
"I understand, you should find out the reason as soon as possible."
Old Sir Lu couldn’t believe that sothing had slipped past Lu Qing under his watch, nor could he believe soone had snatched it away when all the conditions were ripe. He originally intended to wait for good news, but now it seed unlikely.
"Grandpa, what’s wrong?"
"Nothing."
Old Sir Lu didn’t want Lu Xing to see anything was amiss, though he did feel uncomfortable inside, believing that Lu Qing would handle it well. After all, he had never been disappointed over the years.
"Maybe I’m overthinking. I feel this matter isn’t simple, and responsibility must be pursued."
Old Sir Lu, awakened by Lu Xing’s words, thought for a mont and realized it was true. Previously, he hadn’t paid much attention to the matter. But after the phone call, he thought a lot and found the situation wasn’t as simple as he’d thought. Carefully weighing it over again, he realized many things needed ti to be planned out, yet the fruits had been snatched away even when well-prepared, which was hard to accept.
"Lu Qing will keep an eye on this matter."
Lu Xing watched as Old Sir Lu once again used Lu Qing as an excuse, clearly understanding his thoughts. So he didn’t continue questioning, instead waiting for what might happen next.
Because of his suspicions of a mole within the company, Lu Qing began an investigation, unexpectedly finding it in the responsible person’s drawer, caught on the spot by the secretary.
"What’s this?"
Lu Qing’s gaze was fixed on the responsible person in front of him, his eyes extrely complex. The subordinate he trusted had actually backed up a copy of the land auction plans and proposals.
"Mr. Lu, I don’t know why this thing is in my drawer."
Lu Qing stared at his utterly perplexed expression, feeling more and more uneasy, thinking the situation increasingly strange and complicated. He gave a signal to the secretary, saying, "Conduct a thorough check on everything related to him."
"Yes, Mr. Lu."
Lu Qing was infuriated, but he wasn’t blinded by anger, instead becoming increasingly clear-headed. Even if being betrayed, he wanted to find conclusive proof, not intending to wrong an innocent person or let a mole slip by.
"From now on, put aside all your work, until I uncover the whole truth."
The situation didn’t want to blow out of proportion, but the land plot was extrely important, and the losses caused couldn’t be sumd up in a few words. Even if Lu Qing could overlook these, the truth needed clarification.
"Strange, I can’t get through to his phone."
Just after finishing the eting, Qin Miaomiao curiously dialed Lu Qing’s number, not understanding why she couldn’t get through. Rembering the important matter Lu Qing ntioned yesterday, she really wanted to ask how the land situation was going.
"President Qin, there’s a Mr. ng wanting to see you."
Upon hearing Mr. ng, Qin Miaomiao developed a sense of curiosity and asked imdiately, "What’s his na?"
"Here is his business card; he’s at the front desk."
When Qin Miaomiao saw the na ng Yan on the business card, her pupils dilated, hurriedly and surprisedly telling the assistant, "Invite him in quickly."
Squinting her eyes for a glance, her mood shifted quickly. Qin Miaomiao never anticipated ng Yan would co by; rembering how ng Yan had visited Hua Tiantian’s set and was captured by the dia’s imagination, it really created so room for speculation.
"Miss Qin, long ti no see."
