Hua Tiantian spoke with a aningful smile at the corner of her mouth, thinking about how it always made her want to laugh when blending in with them.
"Tian Tian, the director said there’s a scene to reshoot later."
"Got it."
Answering while holding her phone, Hua Tiantian briefly exchanged a few words with Lin Xiaoxiao before hanging up.
"Whose call was that?"
"Sister Xiao Xiao reminding about the weekend gathering."
The assistant gave a knowing look and handed the script to her: "The scene to reshoot is this one."
"When we wrapped this scene back then, I didn’t feel very satisfied. But the director was in an irritable mood at the ti, and continuing would’ve taken us to the seventh take."
"Your intuition was right. The reshoot is probably ant as a do-over to compare and pick the best take."
Hua Tiantian eyed the assistant’s shifty gaze, chuckling as she spoke: "Say what you want—why are you sneaking around? You’re acting all weird."
"Tian Tian, let tell you—I overhead Yu griping about Huang Shan, and it sounded like she was stirring the pot."
"That’s not surprising, right? I see her bustling back and forth, and Huang Shan has quite the temper—she lashes out whenever sothing doesn’t go her way. On set, you could even tell she lost her grip on Sichuan pepper and aid at her assistant."
"Why does she need three assistants anyway? Two interns, but neither as reliable as Yu."
Hua Tiantian didn’t know much about Huang Shan’s habits nor had any desire to ddle. Deep down, she still felt the baseless rumors involving her sohow had ties to Huang Shan. Yet without evidence, she didn’t want to bother ng Yan again. She decided to investigate while continuing to film.
"About the matter I ntioned last ti... have you thought it over?"
The assistant looked awkward: "You’re seriously going to investigate on your own? Honestly, we could ask President ng for help."
"I just don’t want to trouble him; I want to handle my own affairs myself."
Her response left the assistant speechless. After carefully rethinking it, the assistant realized that many issues were targeted attacks. Even if you disregard them, once they occur, they’re still done.
"I think the suspect is Huang Shan."
"Which is why we need to gather evidence."
Hua Tiantian’s expression turned even calr. Having an object of suspicion brought clarity. The next step was evidence-gathering. She decided her business would stay hers to resolve.
anwhile, Huang Shan began inquiring about people she knew, starting close and spanning to people she hadn’t contacted in ages. When her leads ran dry, she accidentally ca across an online news report targeting Yao Guang Entertainnt. Interestingly enough, the opponent was also another entertainnt company.
"This is getting fascinating. So, even competitors go at it this intensely."
As Huang Shan turned her attention from the article, she noticed Mo Wenwan’s na listed among three others in the coverage. Mulling it over, she realized where she’d heard of her.
"Ah, so it’s her."
Huang Shan thought back to a drunken evening with Li Li when she had accidentally browsed his contacts and spotted Mo Wenwan’s na. It seed they knew each other and had had interactions.
"Could this Mo Wenwan be one of Li Li’s many ex-girlfriends?"
Laced with a mix of jealousy and curiosity, she dove into a deep investigation of Mo Wenwan’s profile.
"Who would’ve guessed Mo Wenwan’s pretty impressive—she even runs her own entertainnt company."
Huang Shan held her phone as she arrived on set, ready to reshoot her scene. Feeling unsettled, she scrolled through the tabloid news about herself again. After carefully reviewing, her eyes halted on the man in one of the photos. She pondered for a while and concluded that she needed to gather up her courage to take action on sothing.
