"Leaving now?"

"Yes."

"Not coming back?"

"There’s no ti."

"How long will you be gone?"

"About a week, I think."

"Oh, alright. Be careful on the road."

"This trip ca up suddenly, so I have to leave in a hurry. I’ll make it up to you when I get back."

Qin Miaomiao couldn’t quite figure out whether she was angry or feeling sothing else entirely.

"Honey, I want to tell you sothing."

"What is it?"

"I..."

There was a loud noise on the other end, drowning out everything she was saying.

"What did you just say? Say it again."

"I said I... Forget it, I’ll tell you when you’re back."

She hung up the phone, staring out through the floor-to-ceiling window. It was almost New Year, and outside, another thick layer of snow had fallen.

She loved the snowy scenery. Lying on the bed, watching the snow, she pondered how to plan the days ahead. She’d heard the first three months were risky, so everything had to be carefully considered.

For instance, her filming plans — even if she wanted to be the director, even Ninth Uncle probably wouldn’t agree.

But she wasn’t soone who could sit idle. She couldn’t just do nothing.

Lu Qing had left again. She wanted to share such wonderful news with him but felt that if it wasn’t said face-to-face, it might lack sothing.

If only she’d told him last night, knowing he was going overseas today.

Why was she acting so stubborn? Honestly...

Lu Qing arrived in France and t Joanna. As soon as she saw him, she hurriedly said,

"Ouyang Yan has surfaced."

"What about Xiao Chen?"

"Is he one of your n? He was shot in the right chest. Currently being rescued in the hospital."

"Ouyang Yan?"

"He escaped, but he’s still in London. My team is searching for him."

"Find him! You must find him! What’s Xiao Chen’s condition?"

Joanna knew about the connection between Xiao Chen and Qin Miaomiao, so instinctively, she was protective, her expression grave as she replied,

"He’s still being rescued, not out of danger yet."

Lu Qing’s face turned dark. This had to be kept from Qin Miaomiao—if she knew, she’d definitely panic.

"He must be saved!"

"We’ve brought in the best surgeon, but whether he survives will depend on his luck."

"Thank you. This must be kept from Miaomiao."

Joanna nodded,

"Understood."

At that mont, one of Joanna’s subordinates rushed over and whispered sothing in her ear.

"Lu Qing, we’ve found Ouyang Yan!"

"Where?"

She roughly gave a location, and Lu Qing, without saying a word, grabbed his team and headed out:

"I’ll catch him myself!"

"Ouyang Yan is an extrely dangerous person. Are you sure you want to do this in person?"

Lu Qing sneered, "Of course. I’ll catch him myself!"

"Alright, but take care. I don’t want ow ow ow to end up a widow."

Lu Qing scoffed, "Don’t worry. I’m tough enough to survive."

Qin Miaomiao was experiencing relentless morning sickness. She threw up everything she ate, and eventually, even when she didn’t eat, she still vomited.

It got so bad that she seed to be spitting up pure bile. Mr. Jiu couldn’t bear to watch anymore and called for a doctor to check on her condition.

"Mr. Su, this is considered a normal reaction."

Mr. Jiu’s face turned extrely sour,

"She’s vomiting like this, and you call it normal?"

"So won experience extre symptoms during pregnancy. It’s tough, but in a couple of months, it should get better."

Mr. Jiu’s expression darkened even further,

"What did you say? She has to vomit like this for two months?"

The doctor was drenched in cold sweat. This job paid well, but the stress it ca with was unbearable—he honestly felt like quitting!
