The matter of finding a traditional Chinese dicine doctor is finally behind us, but the editing work has only just begun. The footage shot earlier has to be pieced together bit by bit. A skilled editor can turn sothing mundane into magic, but if they don’t understand the ssage the movie is trying to convey, it could end up as a disaster.
For this film, Qin Miaomiao had left everything to Director Zhao during the shoot and didn’t involve herself much. As a result, when watching the raw footage, she felt completely unfamiliar with it and had to spend a significant amount of ti studying it.
And when she finally t with the editor...
"Boss, can you explain to why you’re also an editor now?"
The boss shot her a seductive glance:
"Young Madam, am I not allowed to juggle multiple roles in life?"
"A bodyguard? A model? An editor? You’re taking multitasking to the extre here."
The boss tossed his elegant long hair with a flair, exuding charm:
"Life is so boring, that’s why I find things to make it interesting."
At this mont, Qin Miaomiao was utterly convinced: "Alright, you’re impressive."
"For the next two months, I’m afraid I might clash with Young Madam. See, when I get into work mode, I take things very seriously—and my temper tends to be less than pleasant. Please don’t mind ."
"If you can convince and prove you’re capable, I’ll have nothing but admiration for you."
"Great, now that you’ve said that, we’re good."
Once imrsed in the editor’s world, expect strong territorial instincts to erge.
However, just three days later, the editing suite erupted into a heated argunt:
"Why can’t this segnt work?"
"It’s too convoluted."
"These are details! Details are crucial to a scene!"
"This segnt has to be included."
"No way, it’s aningless."
"Include it!"
"Not including it."
"Hey, Young Madam, just because you can’t out-debate doesn’t an you can resort to physical force. Your ager skills couldn’t possibly challenge —I... Wait, are you seriously using your foot now?"
Little sixth, Little seventh, and Little second stood at the door, exchanging puzzled glances:
"How many tis is this now?"
"Three."
"Are they fighting again?"
"Yep."
"It’s practically the tenth ti today."
"Boss and Young Madam are locked in a battle of wills. Neither of them wants to back down."
"Seriously though, isn’t Young Master Lu going to step in?"
"Young Master Lu said as long as Young Madam doesn’t get hurt, they can fight however they want."
Little sixth and Little seventh: .....
Clearly, he’s taking her side.
"So what do we do now? Just standing here seems pointless. Should we play so cards? Or grab so red envelopes or sothing?"
Little seventh: "I need to prepare dinner—French wine and snails. I’ve been studying French cuisine lately, and I’ve gained so significant insights."
"Little seventh, your side activities are really starting to show so promise."
"Sixth brother, aren’t you practicing equestrian skills lately? You’re almost at professional level."
Little second glanced at the ceiling. Aside from being a bodyguard, he didn’t seem to have any other specialties. How embarrassing.
Bang! The door swung open, and Qin Miaomiao walked out, her face calm and composed. Little sixth grinned and asked:
"Young Madam, who won in the end?"
"Hmph! That stubborn old boss! I was about to scratch his beautiful face, but he still refused to include that segnt!"
Little sixth: "Should we switch to a different editor then?"
Qin Miaomiao raised an eyebrow: "You must be joking. He’s a top-tier editor. Where am I supposed to find soone as good? And besides, he’s cost-effective."
Little seventh muttered under his breath:
"The key point... is cost-effectiveness?"
Little sixth: "Little seventh, stop blurting out harsh truths."
Qin Miaomiao: "Am I really that superficial? Where’s my husband? Is he back yet?"
