"Really? I agree. You all worked so hard—go and collect your red envelopes."
However, it seems that once we get to the wedding venue, at the winery, there’s bound to be another outfit change, and the amount in those red envelopes definitely won’t disappoint.
The group went off feeling a mix of emotions. Ugh, sure, collecting the red envelopes was satisfying, but our souls took quite the beating, okay!
At this mont, Ou Beichen walked in and, upon seeing Qin Miaomiao dressed in her wedding attire, froze for a mont.
"Little Chen, you’re here. Co over quickly."
Little Seventh heard this and thought: No way! She actually called him Little Chen. Why not call him Little Seventh instead?
Ugh, his brain must have short-circuited. Anyway, he was absolutely not going to admit that he was a bit jealous. "Little Chen" sounded so nice, so close!
"Sis."
He walked over to her, gazing at her face that was as radiant as a blooming peach blossom, and chuckled softly:
"You look beautiful."
"Co, co, co. Take a selfie with ."
"Alright."
After taking the photo, Ou Beichen crouched slightly in front of her:
"I wasn’t sure what to give you, so I’m giving you this jade piece. I’ve worn it since childhood—it’ll keep you safe."
Saying that, he handed it over to her.
His eyes were slightly red. Qin Miaomiao grabbed his hand and said:
"Don’t create such a tense atmosphere, alright? I’m just getting married. You’re still going to live with afterward."
Ou Beichen responded with an "Mhm" and said, "I’ll go and check outside, see what needs to be done."
He turned and walked out, leaving Qin Miaomiao sowhat puzzled. Was the idea of her getting married really that heartbreaking?
Oh co on, she’d practically been living away from ho for ages!
"Little Seventh, why are your eyes red?"
Little Seventh wiped the corners of his eyes: "I don’t know, there’s just this bittersweet feeling about marrying off my sister. Ugh."
"Silly boy, co here. Here’s seven gold coins—think of them as your red envelopes. Make sure you distribute them to the eldest, second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth later."
The gold coins weren’t very large, but they carried symbolic aning.
"Young Madam, you’re the best."
Little Seventh was moved to the verge of tears, prompting Qin Miaomiao to poke his head:
"We’re all family—why say things like that? Let them know you can all drink to your heart’s content tonight, but there’s one rule: Don’t overdo it on my husband. You’re in charge of entertaining the guests."
Little Seventh gave a thumbs-up: "Young Madam, when it cos to standing by your husband, I bow to your skills."
"What are you even saying? Wow, Miao Miao, you’re stunning today!"
Xu Jiaojiao, Lin Xiaoxiao, and Hua Tiantian walked in as though they’d coordinated their entrance. These three were her bridesmaid squad.
"You guys finally showed up—you’re late. Self-inflicted punishnt: three glasses each!"
Xu Jiaojiao burst into laughter: "Only three glasses? You’re underestimating . I could handle three large bowls without a problem!"
"Of baijiu too?"
"Cough, cough, cough—forget I said anything."
Lin Xiaoxiao walked over, scanning her up and down, and said:
"A traditional Chinese wedding, huh? This phoenix crown and wedding dress are beautiful. When I get married soday, I want a traditional ceremony too."
Xu Jiaojiao teased her:
"You? If you marry Song San, you’ll probably end up having a mountaintop wedding on so snow-capped peak."
Lin Xiaoxiao’s face turned red: "What are you talking about? That’s not even close to happening."
"Oh, co on. Stop pretending. Weren’t you just dropped off here by Song San? Look at your lips—the lipstick’s gone. Were you kissed?"
Lin Xiaoxiao grew slightly nervous: "Is it really gone?"
She pulled out a mirror while Xu Jiaojiao laughed: "Go fix your makeup—otherwise, everyone will know what’s up. Clearly, round one was intense."
Hua Tiantian sat off to the side, her gaze lingering on Qin Miaomiao, her expression sowhat complicated:
"My idol is getting married. Sigh..."
