She placed her hand gently on his head, and remarked with a hint of emotion:

"Xiao Chen has really grown up."

"Xiao Chen will always be my Xiao Chen."

When Qin Miaomiao heard this, her nose felt a little tingly, and she choked up slightly—she had been easily moved lately.

She held Xiao Chen’s hand and whispered:

"Why does it feel like you’ve gotten thinner again? Your baby fat is all gone, and there’s barely any at on you. Baby, you need to eat more, no dieting allowed."

The word "baby" coming from her lips carried an especially tender and intimate warmth. Ou Beichen froze for a mont, as the faint, elegant fragrance on her body gently drifted into his senses.

He was essentially a loner, and Qin Miaomiao was his only family—not by blood, but closer than anyone else.

He reached out to hug her, and said softly:

"Alright, I will."

"Good, I just want you to be healthy, strong, safe, and happy."

"Alright."

"The day after tomorrow is my wedding. You’ll carry out of the house, won’t you?"

Ou Beichen’s body stiffened montarily, and then he replied:

"Alright."

"Okay then, co with to see Ninth Uncle."

She pulled him along inward, her hand conveying a comforting warmth that settled his heart—a warmth he’d willingly do everything to protect, no matter the cost.

As they headed in, Xiao Bai and Little Xiaobai followed behind them, making the lineup quite substantial.

Mr. Jiu was seated in the living room, sipping tea, though the tea itself was diocre and left him sowhat unsatisfied.

As soon as he spotted Qin Miaomiao coming in, he waved her over:

"Little Jin’er is here. Co brew tea."

"Sure, Ninth Uncle—why is it nobody around you knows how to brew tea? Such a waste of good tea."

Ninth Uncle sighed: "It’s tough to find soone as skilled as you."

"True, tea brewing takes both talent and intuition."

"Just a little praise, and now your tail is wagging up in the air?"

Qin Miaomiao quickly stepped closer, smiling: "I just wanted to tease you a little, Ninth Uncle. Why must you call out?"

"Goodness."

He chuckled and chided her playfully as Qin Miaomiao hurried over to begin brewing tea.

Brewing tea, for her, was a ticulous process. Even the water quality, temperature, the precise steps, teapots, and utensils involved—all had to et exacting standards.

Everything had to be of the highest caliber.

Ninth Uncle was notoriously particular about taste; even the slightest imperfection would not escape his discerning palate. So Qin Miaomiao took great care with the preparation.

Ou Beichen sat beside her, watching as the intricate and elaborate steps unfolded, finally yielding a cup of exceptional tea.

"As expected, only the tea you make is truly satisfying."

"Now that you’re getting married, I don’t have much to offer, but per tradition, I’ve prepared a trousseau for you—take a look."

Saying this, he gestured for the butler to bring over a list encased in a red envelope. Taking it in hand, she glanced at the contents, which were filled with treasures.

"A complete set of erald jewelry? A Ming Dynasty jade bowl? A pair of Qing Dynasty blue-and-white porcelain? Ninth Uncle, are you trying to empty out your household for ?"

The list detailed over twenty items in total, all antiques and artwork! Every piece was genuine and extraordinarily valuable!

This level of extravagance was enough to make one’s heart race.

Mr. Jiu let out a short laugh: "What nonsense! Do you think your Ninth Uncle is that poor? You’re underestimating . I’ve saved better things for you—this is just your dowry. Can’t let others look down on you."

Qin Miaomiao responded softly:

"With you here, would anyone dare underestimate ?"

"It’s mainly to make a point to the Lu Family. Don’t think I don’t know—those ones in the Lu Family have always been treating you like a pushover."
