The days of fattening up weren’t too bad, after all, she had company. This was France, Joanna’s turf, and they were living in that Putao manor. Lu Qing, Ninth Uncle, and Joanna had joined forces, using their resources to clean up Ouyang Yan’s remaining influence. This ti, it was a solid slap in the face.
Both Lu Qing and Mr. Jiu had suffered a serious setback, and if word got out, they’d certainly be mocked by others.
After Qin Miaomiao escaped from that predicant, her state of mind unexpectedly improved, as if the knot she hadn’t been able to untangle for years was finally undone.
Lu Qing already knew about her past, yet this matter hadn’t impacted their relationship at all. In fact, even when he saw her heavily pregnant in a dream, he didn’t seem to mind.
"ow ow ow, what are you doing?"
"Watching a drama."
She was half-sitting there, with a tablet in front of her and so sliced apples nearby. She ate while watching.
Joanna plopped down beside her, grabbed an apple slice from her hand, took a bite, and sprawled out to watch the drama with her.
"My Demon Roommates?"
"Yep, the abridged version is out, and it’ll be fully released in a few days."
"I want to watch it."
Qin Miaomiao glanced at her sideways. "Are you sure? This drama’s pretty tasteless and silly. You really want to watch it?"
"Anything my ow ow ow films, even if it turns out to be a pile of crap, I’ll still watch it."
Looking at the gorgeous blonde-haired, blue-eyed girl in front of her, speaking fluent Chinese yet spouting vulgar words, Qin Miaomiao felt a bit conflicted.
Still, watching a drama together was better than watching alone. The only downside was that Joanna didn’t understand Huaxia’s humor. She kept questioning things as they watched:
"ow ow ow, this guy likes the female lead, right? Then why is he pinning that man down? Do these two have romantic tension? I thought your shows were pretty conservative, but it seems like the boundaries are actually quite loose."
"No, no, no, that’s just a misunderstanding."
"Then why does the female lead live with four n in the sa house? Are she and these guys all involved? Is this so kind of 5-way relationship? Quite bold."
Qin Miaomiao: .....
How was she supposed to explain this? Sothing completely normal was turned into an unspeakable scandal involving one woman and four n?
"No, the story is actually pretty simple. It’s not as complicated as it sounds. It’s just a pure love story."
Joanna nodded and continued watching. As they went on, she strangely started getting into it.
"I really like the daily banter between those four n—it’s hilarious. But the female lead is dull. She’s such a cliché: naive and sweet to the point of being annoying. And to think she carries Demon King’s Blood... so weak it’s pathetic. Totally trash."
Qin Miaomiao explained further: "Generally, this kind of female lead is pretty popular."
"You’re sure? You Huaxians like this kind of female lead? She’s not realistic at all."
Qin Miaomiao asked curiously, "Oh? Then what’s your idea of ’realistic’?"
"Want to know? I’ll show you a movie."
Full of excitent, Joanna pulled out a CD, closed the curtains, and even set up a projector. Under this imrsive atmosphere, they began watching a French romance film.
The movie was absurd yet achingly real.
A woman fell in love at first sight with a man on the street, and the two dove headfirst into a passionate whirlwind romance. The beginning was fild beautifully.
But halfway through, it was revealed that the woman was married and had a husband. When the man t her husband, he shockingly fell in love with the husband too. What followed was a story about the man and the woman’s husband, and later, even the woman discovered their relationship, leading to a three-way affair.
