Even though sweat had ford, there wasn’t any sll of perspiration—on the contrary, there was a richer and more alluring fragrance.

Lu Qing steadied his thoughts and spoke in a calm voice:

"Next Monday, there’s a charity banquet. You’ll be attending with ."

"Alright, I understand."

She agreed, though she felt a bit suspicious in her heart. After all, given his personality, would he go out of his way to notify her of sothing for next Monday?

At this mont, Lu Qing’s gaze swept over her. Indeed, based on her physique and proportions, she was already nearing perfection.

Noticing his eyes on her, Qin Miaomiao felt sowhat uneasy and, attempting to deflect, said:

"It’s too hot. I’ll go take a shower; you can do as you please."

She pushed the door open and went inside. Soon, the sound of running water could be heard. The bathroom door was made of frosted glass—it blurred the view but still allowed one to make out a vague silhouette.

Even this indistinct outline was enough to evoke vivid imaginations.

Especially with the sound of water, Lu Qing sat there, his gaze dark as ink. His Adam’s apple moved slightly.

He lit a cigarette, inhaling deeply, resembling a king silently admiring the little performance of his delicate wife.

When Qin Miaomiao erged wrapped in a bath towel, the pungent sll of tobacco greeted her nose. Lu Qing, anwhile, was standing in front of a box.

She seed a little flustered and hurried over. Before the box could be opened, she plopped down onto it.

Lu Qing noticed her abnormal behavior and frowned slightly.

"Why... why are you still here?"

"Custom-made clothes?"

"Um... Yes!"

He said in a calm tone:

"Open it and take a look."

Qin Miaomiao appeared a little nervous and hesitated to refuse:

"No... maybe let’s not."

Lu Qing raised an eyebrow, his gaze darkening as he took in her appearance wrapped in the bath towel:

"What, are you planning to stay wrapped in a towel all day?"

"I..."

"Pick one and change into it. Let see."

He ordered in an unmistakable tone. Qin Miaomiao hesitated, stamring, and after a long pause, she bit her lip.

"Better not... I like all of these clothes, truly."

Her eyes darted around, betraying her discomfort. Lu Qing grew displeased. These clothes were ordered at his instruction, yet she didn’t appear as fond of them as she claid. It seed soone wasn’t appreciating his efforts.

His expression darkened, his tone now tinged with coldness:

"Qin Miaomiao, you’re not very good at lying."

She panicked, not even having ti to react before she felt a tight grip on her waist. Her entire body was lifted off the box, and with a simple tug from him, the box’s poorly secured seal was ripped open.

With a tearing sound, the box’s contents were revealed—a chaotic ss of clothing, all slashed to shreds, not a single piece wearable.

Lu Qing’s gaze turned icy, his expression grim:

"What happened here?"

Qin Miaomiao hesitated, struggling to find the words, and after a long while, she finally spoke:

"I... I’m not entirely sure..."

Lu Qing fixed her with a penetrating gaze:

"You probably understand better than anyone else. Don’t worry, another batch will arrive soon."

Qin Miaomiao blinked at him, her thick lashes resembling delicate feathers, and her autumn-like eyes were breathtaking. Her gaze was srizing, and her entire body pressed against him.

The lingering fragrance from her body reached his nose. His pupils darkened as his grip around her waist tightened slightly.

She managed to say:

"Let’s just leave it at that."

His palm brushed against her waist, and with a deliberate force, he pulled her close against him. Her bones bumped against his, causing her pain, and she dared not et his gaze.

"Alright, rest assured. I won’t let you suffer."

This ti, he didn’t deliberately tease her. He left in a hurry, while Qin Miaomiao silently smiled as she looked at the ruined clothes.
