Liyuan
Mr. Jiu brewed himself a pot of Biluochun tea. The parrot he raised squawked a few tis, and Mr. Jiu glanced at it. This parrot is too noisy—maybe he should stew it instead.
The housekeeper hurried in, his face brimming with joy, "Mr. Jiu, Miss is back."
"Little Jin’er?"
That girl has been so busy lately; she hasn’t co around here. And now she rembers him?
His lips curled into a smile, but he quickly suppressed the excitent in his heart!
All things considered, he is her godfather. He has to maintain a dignified deanor, not show too much enthusiasm, to curb her arrogance—otherwise, she’ll beco even more carefree and forget about her godfather entirely.
"By the way, Mr. Jiu, Miss brought a suitcase. Looks like she intends to stay for a few days."
"What are you waiting for? Get the guest room ready right away. And tell the kitchen to prepare a few of her favorite dishes. Hurry."
"Got it!"
The housekeeper rushed off. These days, Mr. Jiu hasn’t been easy to deal with; he’s been under a lot of pressure. Now that Miss is here, things might ease up a bit.
Qin Miaomiao dragged her suitcase inside and imdiately spotted Ninth Uncle sitting there, sipping tea and playing with his bird.
"Blessings to Mr. Jiu, blessings to Mr. Jiu."
The bird could even talk, which made Ninth Uncle burst into a hearty laugh.
"You little rascal, you sure know how to flatter. I’ll reward you with so treats."
Qin Miaomiao coughed lightly a couple of tis.
No reaction?
Hey! At least acknowledge her presence!
"Ninth Uncle."
Mr. Jiu glanced up, finally noticing her, and said indifferently:
"Little Jin’er is here? Sit wherever you’d like."
Qin Miaomiao: ....
Sob sob sob, Ninth Uncle is so cold. Has she lost favor here too?
Ninth Uncle kept fussing over the parrot, barely paying her any attention.
When it rains, it pours. Even her maternal family is less than welcoming. Should she just book a hotel instead?
"Ninth Uncle, I... I already made plans with so friends to hang out, so I’ll head out first."
Ninth Uncle’s expression stiffened—wait, what? She wasn’t planning to stay?
"Where are you going to play?"
"Um... sowhere nearby, to see the sea."
"Which sea?"
"The North Sea."
"Alright."
Alright? Alright to what? What does that even an?
Qin Miaomiao was still processing his words when he casually ordered:
"Housekeeper, prepare the helicopter. We’re heading to the North Sea."
Qin Miaomiao: ...
She... She was just making small talk!
By the ti she was seated in the helicopter, she was still dazed. Mr. Jiu, looking utterly composed, anwhile, was enjoying the view as if it were perfectly normal. She glanced down and panicked—dear lord, it was so high! She gripped tightly onto her seat; she had a fear of heights!
"That boy found his way to Liyuan," Mr. Jiu said out of nowhere.
Qin Miaomiao didn’t catch what he said at all. She was far too concerned about possibly falling off!
Back at Liyuan
Lu Qing and Ou Beichen finally arrived, albeit slightly behind schedule. The housekeeper greeted them politely:
"Welco, sirs. Mr. Jiu took Miss out."
Lu Qing asked in a sinister tone, "Where did they go?"
"Not sure."
This old man dared to pull a stunt like this—kidnapping his wife? Outrageous!
Ou Beichen patted him on the shoulder and said dryly, "Sis’s current location shows... she’s in midair."
"What!"
That old man actually brought her into the sky!!!
When Qin Miaomiao stepped out of the helicopter, her legs were trembling.
Mr. Jiu clicked his tongue, "Little Jin’er, your courage is lacking. You’ll need so proper training—after a few more flights, you’ll be fine."
No way! She’s never getting on a helicopter again. Sob sob sob!
The helicopter landed... on a super-luxurious yacht. The yacht was already cruising on the sea. As soon as they boarded, Old Third respectfully reported:
"Mr. Jiu, Lu Qing has caught up."
"Oh? So fast—I underestimated his capabilities. Send so n to block him."
Rarely does he get a chance to enjoy so ti with his Little Jin’er. He doesn’t want any interruptions, especially not from that brat!!!
