After half an hour in the car, Qin Miaomiao finally ca to her senses. She glanced at the scenery outside the window, furrowing her brows slightly, and said coldly:
"This isn’t the road ho."
"Young Madam, the previous road was a bit congested, so I switched to a different route. Rest assured, we’ll be there shortly."
Through the rearview mirror inside the car, Qin Miaomiao saw his face. Allowing herself a mont of ntal vigilance, she replied calmly:
"Turn back to the original route. I don’t mind spending more ti."
"Alright, Young Madam."
Yet, ten minutes later, not only had he failed to turn back to the original road, he’d ventured further and further off course!
Qin Miaomiao realized at that mont that sothing might be about to happen to her!
Was Han Shu’s appointed person actually a traitor?
Then what about Han Shu himself?
No, it was also possible that soone had bought him off. But who could possibly bribe soone from Han Shu’s side?
She lowered her head to glance at the ring on her finger. The ring had a GPS tracker. Even if she didn’t signal for help, Little sixth and Little seventh should know sothing was wrong. Her expression shifted slightly, yet she sat upright, composed and unflinching—without a hint of panic.
The car drove on for a while longer before finally coming to a halt. It was in front of a secluded villa. The driver stepped out and spoke in an even tone:
"Young Madam, we’ve arrived."
Qin Miaomiao gave him a long, sharp look before stepping out of the car. Earlier, when Lu Qing had forcibly carried her onto the vehicle, she had already changed into a proper outfit.
"Whose man are you?"
"Once you et the person inside, Young Madam will naturally understand. Please, co this way."
Qin Miaomiao’s gaze grew colder as she followed him inside, where a man sat upright in the living room.
He was dressed in an immaculate white suit, wearing spotless white gloves on his hands. His hair was ticulously combed, not a strand out of place. Slowly, he turned his head toward her. Qin Miaomiao’s face froze—it was as if she’d seen a ghost!
"Ouyang Yan?! You’re supposed to be dead!"
Ouyang Yan nodded at her slowly:
"Miss Qin, long ti no see."
Qin Miaomiao walked up to him, staring at him in astonishnt for a long while. She nearly reached out to poke his face, but after so ti, she steadied her mind and murmured:
"So, you really didn’t die. Before the explosion, you jumped out of the car, didn’t you?"
"Clever."
Qin Miaomiao patted her chest: "As long as you’re not a ghost, then everything is negotiable. By the way, my thirty-sothing million—when are you planning to return it?"
Ouyang Yan’s face stiffened for a mont before letting out a chuckle: "Miss Qin, your mory is really impressive."
"Obviously! When soone owes money, of course I’ll rember. Still, being able to plant people around Lu Qing—that’s quite remarkable. Now, since you’ve kidnapped , what are you planning to do? Don’t tell you’re thinking about using to threaten my husband again. That trick’s been done before. If you try it again, it’d be lacking creativity—and wouldn’t live up to your status, don’t you think?"
Ouyang Yan’s lips curled slightly: "I just enjoy chatting with Miss Qin. You’re witty and entertaining, a clever woman. With Lu Qing in France, I naturally wouldn’t use you to threaten him. I simply wanted to get a few things done while he’s not in the country, that’s all."
Qin Miaomiao suddenly understood: "Oh, I’m a law-abiding citizen. Whatever you’re planning has absolutely nothing to do with ."
"It does. I want you to introduce to your adoptive father."
"My adoptive father? What do you intend to do?"
"Just a simple transaction. You’ll act as the interdiary."
Qin Miaomiao let out a dry laugh: "Sorry, but I don’t cause trouble for others. Whether your plan is to cooperate with him or double-cross him, I won’t bring any danger his way."
Ouyang Yan clapped his hands: "You really are a wonderful adoptive daughter. But aren’t you worried I might kill you?"
Qin Miaomiao casually took a seat nearby, picked up the tea, and took a small sip: "This tea is quite nice. Why would you kill ? With my fair skin, beautiful face, and exquisite charm—not to ntion being under the protection of both Lu Qing and Ninth Uncle—if anything happens to , you’d probably get killed so thoroughly there wouldn’t even be ashes left of you. You’re far too intelligent to make such a silly mistake, aren’t you?"
