Fang Li stared at him in disbelief, her heart instantly chilled. Anger made her lose her rationality; she shot a vicious glare at Qin Miaomiao before turning around and storming off.
Well, it seems the relationship between the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law is beyond reconciliation.
Lu Lu glanced at Mr. Jiu with trepidation and quickly chased after Fang Li.
Mr. Jiu said in a calm voice, "Miaomiao, since the Lu Family doesn’t welco you, it’s better for you to recover at Liyuan."
Qin Miaomiao glanced at Lu Qing, then nodded her head, "Alright."
Mr. Jiu didn’t expect her to agree so readily. A trace of joy flashed in his heart as he imdiately ordered, "Old Third, have the housekeeper prepare everything. Arrange for Miss to be discharged; a specialized doctor will co to treat her wounds at ho."
This ti, Lu Qing didn’t stop him. Mr. Jiu cast a glance at Lu Qing, then slowly stood up and said in a flat tone, "You two should have a talk."
After speaking, he walked out.
Lu Qing approached the bedside and clasped her hand. "Recovering at Liyuan is a good idea. I’ll handle the aftermath, and I’m sorry for the grievances you’ve had to endure."
He was referring to the commotion made by Fang Li and Lu Lu at the hospital.
Qin Miaomiao smiled faintly. "What’s there to mind? A mother-in-law not liking her daughter-in-law is completely normal. Besides, I don’t need to live with them. And anyway, didn’t Ninth Uncle stand up for already?"
"Having a strong maternal family is always a good thing for you. Stay at Liyuan for now, and after everything else gets sorted out, I’ll co to pick you up."
His gaze turned colder. It seed that the Lin Family was still discontent and might make so moves. With Ninth Uncle protecting her, staying at Liyuan would indeed be better.
Mr. Jiu took care of the discharge procedures. She got into the car, while Lu Qing arranged for Little Fourth and Little Seventh to follow her. Watching Lu Qing standing outside the car, Qin Miaomiao couldn’t help but feel a deep sense of reluctance and leaned against the car window, looking at him again and again.
Mr. Jiu expressionlessly rolled up the car window:
"It’s not like it’s life and death. Do you really need to be this sentintal?"
Qin Miaomiao looked at him pitifully. "Ninth Uncle, I’m an injured person; you can’t mock like this."
"Ha, so you know you’re an injured person? And you were hurt by a woman? What are the people around you even doing?"
Little Fourth and Little Seventh silently bowed their heads.
Qin Miaomiao weakly defended herself. "This ti was an exception."
"Life doesn’t allow exceptions. What if soone injured your face or stabbed you? Would you have , an old man, bury his younger relative?"
Mr. Jiu rarely lost his temper. His words were like stones crashing into her heart, and Qin Miaomiao’s eyes turned red. She hurried forward and used her uninjured hand to hold onto his arm.
In a soft voice, she coaxed:
"Ninth Uncle, I know I was wrong. From now on, I promise such accidents won’t happen again. I’ll always bring people with and not give anyone a chance to hurt . Is that okay? I still want to keep Ninth Uncle company for a long ti. And maybe in the future, I’ll give you a few little monkeys to play with, alright?"
Mr. Jiu’s expression shifted slightly, and the corners of his lips curved upward:
"Monkeys? I’d like one—raise it to be an heir and have it bear the surna Su."
When he spoke, Qin Miaomiao’s expression shifted. Su as the surna?
Mr. Jiu grew more intrigued as he thought about it. He reached out to rub her head. "You’re still young, so there’s no rush for now. But if you do have one, I’m putting in my reservation for at least one—with the surna Su—as my heir."
From the tone of this, it seed she’d have to give birth to several monkeys. Hey, hey, hey—she’s not a sow, you know.
"Alright, alright, I’ll do whatever Ninth Uncle says, okay?"
"Now that’s my good girl."
Little Fourth and Little Seventh exchanged glances. Should they report this to Young Master Lu? It looked like the Young Master had already been singled out—Ninth Uncle was plotting to snatch his offspring to make them the heir. What would Young Master Lu do?
It seed like there might be another fierce battle ahead.
