Qin Miaomiao mumbled:

"Those people probably think I’m your confidante."

"I don’t have confidantes."

"Oh? What about Bai Wei?"

"Just a social companion. I don’t touch won outside; they’re dirty."

With just the word "dirty," he clearly expressed his attitude—he found them filthy, and he disliked trouble.

Besides, when it ca to won, he had never shown much interest. It’s just that the woman in front of him happened to spark a slight interest in him, that’s all.

Qin Miaomiao felt sothing stir within her; her impression of him improved, if only a little.

At least this man had so principles. He wasn’t like those who played recklessly outside, creating sses they couldn’t clean up.

Still, a man like him—won truly ant nothing to him. He possessed absolute confidence and self-control.

There were only won who went mad for him, but he would never lose himself for any woman!

This reminded her not to let her heart run wild. The misery of her past life had already taught her a lesson. Feelings—she would never involve herself with them again in this life!

She smiled at him, but there was no warmth in her eyes. With a faint smile, she said:

"I understand, husband."

Though she called him husband, this woman didn’t think of him as one at all.

Lu Qing’s eyes darkened as he tightened his grip on her hand, nearly crushing the bones in her palm.

Yet Qin Miaomiao didn’t even flinch, enduring the pain silently. It wasn’t until Lu Qing noticed the cold sweat on her forehead that he realized how remarkable her tolerance was.

He let go, and her hand, having been squeezed so hard, turned white and lost all its color. It took quite a while before the blood slowly returned.

She twisted her hand slightly and, after so ti, calmly said:

"This counts as dostic violence, doesn’t it? So, Mr. Lu has this kind of hobby too."

Lu Qing turned his head to look at her, a hint of darkness flashing in his eyes as he suddenly stopped in his tracks.

"Qin Miaomiao, what is it that you really want?"

Qin Miaomiao’s lips curved into a small smile, her eyes resembling a deep, unfathomable ancient well. With a hint of sothing mysterious, she replied:

"Power. The kind of power that being Mrs. Lu gives ."

"What do you need power for?"

"To do the things I need to do."

"Is it difficult?"

"Manageable."

Their conversation this ti was unhindered. At least, sothing was quietly changing. Qin Miaomiao didn’t bother hiding anything anymore.

Her answer was simple: all she wanted was a status.

A status that would bring her convenience, allowing her to deal with that despicable pair of lovers—nothing more!

Lu Qing’s gaze seed to change as he looked at her, as if trying to peer into her very soul.

But this ti, he was destined for disappointnt.

Suddenly, a woman walked over and deliberately bumped into Qin Miaomiao. She lost her balance slightly, and because she was wearing high heels, she almost fell to the ground!

Lu Qing caught her with one arm. The soft warmth of her body pressed against him, and the faint fragrance wafted into his nose. His heart stirred, and he found himself reluctant to let go imdiately.

The woman was a server, with reasonably good looks. She quickly apologized:

"I’m sorry. It wasn’t intentional."

Her attitude seed sincere, but although the apology was directed at Qin Miaomiao, her eyes were glued to Lu Qing.

She wore a uniform, with two of the buttons deliberately undone at the chest. Her full curves seed on the verge of bursting out.

She clearly had great confidence in her figure. When she looked at Lu Qing, her eyes imdiately turned red.

As if she had suffered so great grievance, she spoke in a slightly coquettish tone:

"Young Master Lu, I didn’t an it. Can you forgive ?"
