This statent carried significant weight, especially coming from Old Sir Lu. In other words, as long as he was alive, Qin Miaomiao would always be Mrs. Lu, enjoying all the honor and status that ca with the title.

Lu Qing glanced at Qin Miaomiao, a flicker of unease passing through his eyes. Previously, he had hinted to his grandfather about his intention to divorce, and at the ti, his grandfather hadn't objected much. After all... Qin Miaomiao, as Mrs. Lu, was indeed not up to par. But now, with this explicit command, as long as the old man remained alive, no one could touch Qin Miaomiao!

He suppressed all the emotions churning in his heart and responded with a low grunt. Qin Miaomiao stood up, walked to his side, and timidly tugged at his sleeve. When she looked up at him, her eyes were slightly red, glistening with unshed tears, as though with the smallest blink, those drops would spill over.

"Husband, I'm sorry. I acted willfully this ti and caused you a lot of trouble. Can you forgive ?"

Her face was remarkably pale and clean, and due to her earlier tears, it carried an added fragile beauty. No matter how grave her mistake was, it was hard not to forgive her. Especially since, this ti... the one who had been hurt was actually her.

His gaze darkened slightly as he lifted his hand to brush her nose. It seed an incredibly affectionate gesture, and with a light smile, he said:

"Alright, but don't let it happen again next ti."

Her face instantly lit up with joy, a satisfied expression as she playfully said to the old man:

"Grandpa, look, he forgave !"

Calling him "husband" at every turn and clinging to Lu Qing's arm, yet Lu Qing didn't push her away—this made Old Sir Lu nod his head in relief:

"Girl, you're finally behaving. You two are husband and wife; what misunderstandings cannot be resolved? Why can't you two sit down and talk it out?"

Qin Miaomiao obediently nodded, smiling as she replied:

"Grandpa, don't worry, we'll be just fine."

Only then did Old Sir Lu feel reassured. "Alright then, give Grandpa a great-grandchild soon, and I'll truly have no more worries."

Qin Miaomiao's face flushed red with embarrassnt. After exchanging a few more words, Old Sir Lu, whose energy wasn't at its best, requested that they stay at the family estate for the night before leaving tomorrow.

After they exited the room, Qin Miaomiao imdiately let go of his arm and kept a certain distance from him. It seed as though the woman who had just been calling him "husband" with such intimacy wasn't her at all. Even the tenderness in her eyes had faded, leaving only a gaze that made him feel just slightly more than a stranger.

Lu Qing's eyes darkened. She really knew how to switch gears quickly—so eager to draw the boundaries with him.

Suddenly, he reached out and pulled her toward him. Qin Miaomiao's body stiffened, instinctively trying to resist, but his deep voice stopped her:

"The family estate still has other people watching. If you act so distant, soone might notice, and Grandpa would figure out we were putting on a show."

This man—he was definitely retaliating! Definitely!

He must be getting back at her for deliberately cuddling his arm just now!

So petty! Incredibly petty!

Yet, with all those eyes observing in the family estate, Qin Miaomiao had no choice but to contain her struggle. Her presence here as Mrs. Lu was solely because Grandpa believed the couple was deeply affectionate. If Grandpa learned the truth, there would likely be no turning back.

She raised her head to look at him, her peach blossom eyes shimring faintly with moisture, her posture poised and elegant. Her soft lips parted slightly:

"Alright, husband."

The pitch at the end of her sentence lifted slightly, but that "husband" was devoid of any genuine feeling, yet his heart felt as though it had been lightly scratched by a cat's paw. An unfamiliar sensation stirred within him.

His gaze fell on her, a trace of sarcasm and amusent flashing through his eyes. Reaching out, he pinched her chin lightly, neither too harsh nor too gentle. His fingertips brushed over her delicate skin with a lingering danger as he murmured:

"Miao Miao is so obedient. Why not call a few more tis in the bedroom later?"

Miao Miao? What nonsense is that? Hey, stop calling so intimately! We're only acting here—can you at least pretend to be a professional actor?!
