Lu Qing’s excessive attentiveness towards Lu Xing made him feel a sense of indescribable lancholy. Seriously pondering what possible motives Lu Xing might have, the more he thought about it, the less it seed like the case. Curiously, he looked at the application the other had submitted and said earnestly, "Don’t worry. Even if you see him, you don’t need to acknowledge his presence; just act as you normally would."
"I know. I just hope you don’t have any conflicts with him."
Qin Miaomiao was most worried about Lu Qing, after all, she didn’t care for people like Lu Xing, and who knows what Lu Xing’s purpose is this ti around. If his motives are not pure, there might be so friction between him and Lu Qing, which made her mood particularly unpleasant.
"Don’t worry about ."
Saying this, Lu Qing placed his hand on Qin Miaomiao’s left hand.
"I know, one Lu Xing can’t possibly cause you harm. But who can tell what’s going on in grandfather’s mind? It’s impossible to predict grandfather’s thoughts. Elderly people have a tendency to change their minds easily; perhaps today it’s one thought, and tomorrow it transforms into sothing else."
"I know. Grandpa is indeed a fickle person. But we have ti to let him see that we’re the ones who are trustworthy. Given ti, things will improve."
Though aware there was comfort in Lu Qing’s words, Qin Miaomiao chose not to say more. She spoke a word to the nanny behind her before getting out of the car.
"You both take the kids inside first, I need to make a call."
Qin Miaomiao nodded, and imdiately proceeded inside. With three children in tow, there was quite a commotion. Before she could speak, Old Sir Lu had already co out, supported by his cane.
"Why didn’t you notify in advance, isn’t bringing three children quite cumberso?"
Smiling, Qin Miaomiao replied, "No, no. Lu Qing is at the back, and there’s the auntie, bringing three children is quite convenient."
Old Sir Lu gazed at the three little treasures in the stroller, his eyes turning into crescent moons, followed by a squint as he said, "Wonderful, it’s been over ten days and they’ve grown quite a bit, even gotten chubbier."
"Yes, the auntie takes great care of them every day."
With an expression full of aning, his gaze beca filled with unintended thoughts. After finishing his call and receiving Lu Xing’s latest whereabouts from his assistant, Lu Qing felt increasingly certain that Lu Xing’s intent in visiting grandfather today wasn’t simple. Thus, he walked inside cautiously.
Upon hearing movent, Qin Miaomiao turned around to see the man, smiling as she said, "Grandpa, Lu Qing is here."
At this mont, neither Lu Xing nor Mo Wenwan were aware that Qin Miaomiao and Lu Qing had already arrived at the old mansion with the children. The two wandered in the study on the second floor, curiously examining the layout, and chatted in whispers.
"Looks like your grandpa truly has money, and it’s not just ordinary wealth; he’s a recognized billionaire."
Upon hearing Mo Wenwan’s words, Lu displayed a contemptuous gaze: "It’s only now that you know."
"It’s not that I’m just finding out. I’m just curious, when you reached adulthood at eighteen, what were you doing? You should have returned to fight for the family inheritance then. Don’t you feel it’s late, now that you’re competing for it?"
Mo Wenwan’s words reminded Lu Xing. However, all those missed opportunities were due to his father—realizing now amid circumstances doesn’t seem to serve any purpose. Back then, feeling timid, fearing Old Master’s authority, he didn’t pursue it. Now, looking back, even if he ca to recognize his roots at eighteen, he can’t be certain of how it would turn out. What if Old Master Lu was even more furious? Essentially, it would have been a losing battle.
