Chapter 578: You are really cold-blooded towards
With matters concerning Lu Shengqing, Qiao Yin maintained her forr habit– she didn’t ask much, only faintly responding, “Is that so?”
“Yes, Lan Ruikang told , the child Lan Yuyi is carrying is not mine, but my older brother’s. He also told that when I was drugged and ended up in bed with Lan Yuyi, it was all a setup by Yuyi herself.”
“Hmm.”
“You’re not surprised the child is my big brother’s?”
“Not surprised. I’ve thought that there was sothing off with the timing of Lan Yuyi’s pregnancy, suspecting that the child isn’t yours.”
Qiao Yin had regained her composure, speaking calmly and systematically, “However, if the child did not belong to the Lu family, she would not have had the audacity to demand marriage into the Lu family. Otherwise, once the child was born, the lie would easily be exposed. Given that the child isn’t yours, the most plausible scenario would be that the child is your big brother’s. Only then would Yuyi’s actions, as well as Madam Lu’s, make sense.”
Lu Lingche gently brushed her sowhat cold cheek, “You’re so clever and observant; you noticed the oddity so early on. Why didn’t you tell ?”
“I had no evidence, and even if I had told you, you would not have believed , not to ntion, we’re already divorced. We’re no longer connected, and I’m under no obligation to warn you.”
“You’ve truly been cold to , you must loathe , probably hoping in your heart that I get deceived, so you can laugh at my plight.”
“You deserve it.”
Lu Lingche heaved a sigh, “Hmm, indeed. I had it coming. But, only when I discovered the truth did I realize that everyone was fooling . Lan Yuyi cheated , her parents were also in on it, even my own parents were deceiving . Everyone was lying to cover up my brother’s child. This feeling… it’s not a good one.”
If it had been before, Qiao Yin would have felt sorry for him. Nobody truly loved him, and everyone favored his older brother. He was always overlooked and forgotten.
She would have found him pitiful, unable to resist giving him all her love, warming him, caring for him.
But now, her heart was thoroughly hurt by him, it had turned cold, and hardened.
“Because even my parents were deceiving , and the difference in attitude between my mother’s treatnt of and my brother’s child is too great. Therefore, I suspect that I might not be their biological child.”
Qiao Yin could not help but interject, “You resemble your father greatly, even in temperant and character. If you weren’t biologically related, you wouldn’t be so similar.”
“Hmm, I’ve done a paternity test. I am indeed my father’s biological son.”
Lu Lingche spoke calmly, almost uncharacteristically, “However, I share no blood relationship with my father’s wife.”
Upon hearing him no longer addressing her as ‘mother’, Qiao Yin couldn’t help asking, “Really? She is truly not your mother? Are you certain you’re not deceiving ?”
“Indeed.”
Gently tapping her forehead, Lu Lingche said, “Why would I deceive you about this? Do I need to?”
“Who knows? It’s not like you haven’t acted inhumanly before.”
Lu Lingche knew he was at a disadvantage in her eyes, hence, no matter what she said to him, he took it without arguing.
“Madam Lu is not my mother. Therefore, her issues with you don’t equate to having issues with you. You can deal with her however you like. In fact, I had already sought justice for you before the paternity test, otherwise, how do you think these past few months have been so peaceful for you?”
Qiao Yin was sowhat surprised.
Her past couple of months had indeed been extraordinarily calm. The most turbulent events of recent tis had simply been Gu Jing’s unexpected proposal that day, and Qiao Lainan coming to ask her for money for a divorce.
So, the calmness she was experiencing was thanks to Lu Lingche’s assistance.
No wonder Madam Lu had been so quiet. She had previously assud Madam Lu was busy taking care of Lan Yuyi’s baby, leaving her no ti to ddle.
But surely, could Madam Lu really not be Lu Lingche’s biological mother?
If that was true, it would explain why she was so blatantly biased.
