Chapter 518: This is Your Reward
At half past eleven, Qiao Yin returned ho.
Of course, it was Lu Lingche who brought her back again.
He forcibly pulled her into his car and then had his bodyguard drive her car ho.
Qiao Yin was quite tired and did not really want to drive, so she let Lu Lingche do as he pleased.
However, she was surprised that he chose not to accompany her upstairs as he normally would.

She secretly cursed herself for looking at him, and now he had seen her!
Lu Lingche downstairs suddenly smiled and started texting on his phone.
Qiao Yin saw a new ssage pop up on her phone. Upon opening it, she found it was from Lu Lingche: “Doctor Qiao, are you going to the hospital for treatnt tomorrow evening? I’ll accompany you.”
Qiao Yin replied: “No need.”
Lu Lingche imdiately responded: “I’ll wear a hat and mask.”
Qiao Yin stared at this ssage, standing dumbfounded against the wall for quite a while.
Having him as company could actually alleviate a lot of her fear, but she didn’t want him to accompany her because it could lead to a sense of dependency.
So far, although her progress in disentangling her feelings from him was not smooth nor particularly productive, overall, she was indeed moving in that direction.
At least, when she watched the video of his marriage ceremony with Lan Yuyi, she no longer shed tears in sadness.
The goal she set for herself to forget him was slowly being achieved.
At this point, she could not develop a dependency on him, even less of a constant daily contact; or else, she could never forget him.
Therefore, to avoid needing his company, Qiao Yin decided to arrange for patient treatnts at the hospital tomorrow noon.
After all, she didn’t need to assist Dongfang Mu on his work anymore; his project had been taken over by Lu Lingche, rendering all her efforts useless.
Her phone beeped again, and Qiao Yin thought it was another ssage from Lu Lingche. When she looked down, however, it was a bank transaction notification.
The bank notified her that she just received a hundred thousand.
The payee was Dongfang Mu.
A WeChat ssage imdiately followed from Dongfang Mu: “Qiao Yin, you worked hard today, this is your reward.”
Qiao Yin didn’t expect to get paid even though the project wasn’t regained. She quickly responded: “Young Master Mu, I didn’t help much today, the reward is unnecessary; you’ve already been paying a salary monthly.”
Dongfang Mu sent her a voice ssage directly: “Salary is salary, reward is reward. You were busy all day. The failure to regain the project was my problem, not yours, so feel free to accept. No need to be polite with .”
His voice was as gentle as ever, even giving Qiao Yin the impression that he was smiling while speaking.
Qiao Yin couldn’t help but smile. He truly was a generous boss!
Working under such a boss would improve one’s mood as well as their wallet size.
Qiao Yin stopped being polite and graciously accepted the reward after sending him a thank you ssage.
She hoped Lu Lingche won’t be so formidable next ti, allowing her to take back more projects for Dongfang Mu. That way, the rewards won’t be a hundred thousand, but millions instead.
It was strange. Lu Lingche offered fifty million, and she was not pleased at all. Dongfang Mu only gave her a hundred thousand, yet she desired to express her full gratitude with words.
Qiao Yin couldn’t help but reflect on why this was so.
After thinking for a while, she felt the problem was with her relationship with Lu Lingche.
The divorce inflicted massive pain on her, which money could never nd. Moreover, she didn’t trust Lu Lingche. She was always under the impression that he would ask for that money back soday.
The money that Dongfang Mu gave was earnings by her own capabilities, and she was certain Dongfang Mu would never ask for it back.
This amount she received felt secure to her.
