"What just happened!"
The City Guardians were standing in a daze. They couldn't believe what they had seen.
Not only did the Great Elder not kill the intruder, but she started kissing him like a crazed lover. And soon, they were hidden within a barrier from the world's eyes.
It made the imagination of the Guardians run wild. Just what was happening inside the barrier? What followed the greedy kiss? Many of them could already guess, but they just didn't want to believe it.
"Pinch ! Wake from this dream!"
A guard had barely uttered when soone pinched his cheeks hard, fulfilling his wish a little too well.
"Urgh! You idiot! Are you trying to peek my skin off?' The guard groaned in pain, slapping the back of the head of the person that had pinched him.
"Maybe that person isn't the intruder? Shouldn't we consider another possibility? He is also from the Demon Sect? That would explain why the Great Elder knew him?"
"Hmm? I have seen most of the Demon Sect Elders. But I have never seen that person before."
"Are you sure that you have seen all of them? Wasn't there an Elder that had gone missing, never showing himself throughout this war?"
"Are you talking about..." The Guards grew pale at the possibility.
There was indeed one Elder that they hadn't seen. It was the person whose na was synonymous with terror in the past.
He was the man who had single handedly destroyed all the powerful sects of the Western Continent that were scheming against the Overlord Demon Sect.
The other reason that person was considered scary, was because there were a lot of stories about him.
One particular story that was widely considered true was that he would often eat the flesh of his enemies, and even of their descendants as punishnt.
Everyone knew that offending a Demon Sect Elder was a shortcut to afterlife. But even amongst all the Elders of the Demon Sect, Elder Ren was the one that truly made others tremble in fear.
He was not only harsh to his enemies, but also a great pervert. At least that's what the rumours painted him as.
No one knew where this rumour actually started, but it was said that Elder Ren often selected beautiful girls as his disciples, all so he could play with their bodies.
The man that had intruded the city, even managed to make the Great Elder fall in his embrace. Who else could he be, except Elder Ren?
"I did hear a few descriptions of Elder Ren. Now that I think about it, he does match the description. It must be him! Elder Ren has returned!"
"If that's true, then we have another powerful person to support us in this war! The Heroes are definitely in for a surprise! Hahaha!"
Only minutes had passed but the stories about Eren's return already started spreading across the city. Even though he was a scary person who could easily destroy Aura Cannon's attack, he was on their side. That was all that mattered.

"Ren has returned?"
The news also reached the Demon Sect's Master. Feng Yu revealed a pleasant surprise the mont she heard it.
It had been such a long ti since she heard that na. A few years ago, she had been inford that Elder Ren wasn't going to return. He was going to finish so important tasks.
She thought it would only take a few months, but even after years had passed, that man never returned, even forgetting his disciples.
There were even a few people in the sect that said that Elder Ren might have run away to protect his life. He was called a coward, and with years passing, the reputation had almost solidified amongst the Elders.
For the citizens of the Eastern Continent, Elder Ren was a scary man that could even face a Great Elder. But for most of the Elders of the Demon Sect, he was a coward that ran away from a war.
There were only a few people that never believed the stories about Eren running away. And one of them was Feng Yu.
She was the Sect Master of the Demon Sect. No matter how much she tried, she never forgot how Eren had saved her life, even while risking his own life.
If he had abandoned her, he could have taken her ring and beco the next sect master, but he protected her even as he was left on the verge of death.
He wasn't scared when he faced the Ancestral Elders for her. Why would he be scared of a re war? Was he a person that would be scared of death? His actions had long proven otherwise.
There was also a subtle feeling tugging at her heart, which made her want to believe in him.
"He is back."
If other Elders were here, they would have been shocked. Not just them, even she would have been shocked if she was looking in the mirror.
There was a smile on her lips, sothing that was a rare sight throughout the last few years. She barely ever smiled, yet at the mont, she had the most beautiful smile in the entire world.
She soon sent a ssage to the shadow guards to escort Eren back to the sect imdiately, keeping him safe.

anwhile, there was also a subtle commotion in the Hero Academy.
There was a person that was trying to predict fate on the instructions of the new Dean of the Academy.
Everyti he tried that, it always showed that they were going to win, albeit after suffering a lot of losses. Yet, suddenly that fate had beco a lot more blurry and chaotic.
He couldn't get a clear image, but the rough reading made him feel like fate was completely reversed. Instead of their victory, it showed that the war was going to result in mutual annihilation if they didn't stop.
He could even see a vague silhouette in the river of fate, that clearly didn't belong to a human.
"Ever since I transmigrated to this world, this is the second ti where fate had suddenly changed like this."
