Chapter 13: 13. Responsibility

He never expected to hear such a response.

But his eyes beco determined to beco stronger.

He looked at Aion and said in a serious tone,

"Aion , I promise you that I’ll take responsibility for you in the future.

But can you at least tell

how much stronger I need to beco."

Aion was deeply surprised. He didn’t expect that this little kid would recover so quickly and his determination to beco even stronger.

He smiled and said from his mouth this ti, word by word,

"Stronger than an Innate God."

Jin was confused because he didn’t know the aning. So, he asked,

"What is that?"

Aion just smiled and shook his head.

But the curiosity of a five year old kid bugged Jin and he pestered Aion to tell him.

But Aion didn’t respond to him. Finally, Jin asked dejected,

"How do you know such things?"

Aion said just one word in his mind,

"bloodline."

Jin was confused once more.

But he didn’t ask anything besides that. Soon the day passed and at dinner Jin looked at his parents.

He hesitated for a long ti but in the end he couldn’t stop himself and asked Jules,

"Grandpa, what is an innate god?"

The table instantly beca silent. All mbers looked at Jin with shock, silent, serious and many other complicated expressions.

Jules asked in a serious tone,

"Who told you? Because I rember that we never talked about divine beings."

Jin was silent for a mont. He silently sneaked a peek at Aion.

But a voice inside his head rang,

"Master, the decision is yours."

Jin turned and looked at Aion but Aion just smiled.

Jin looked at his parents and said,

"Today, I communicated with Aion and I asked him the reason for him to sign a master-servant contract with .

He only said that I am too weak to understand that.

Then I asked him to tell

the strength that I need to take his responsibility"

By the end Jin’s eyes beca teary and he looked at everyone. He cried in the end but he still continued,

"He said that I need to beco stronger than an Innate God."

Everyone was shocked by this. They all turned and looked at Aion.

Jules asked,

"How do you know sothing like that?"

Aion looked at him calmly and said,

"Bloodline."

This simple word and the family mbers were silent.

Because they all knew that spiritual beasts relied on bloodline the most.

Emma sighed and she looked at Jin,

"My baby, look at Grandma."

Jin looked at her with watery eyes.

Emma smiled slightly and said in a smooth voice,

"I thought that with your talent, you will reach the divine realm but since you want to take the responsibility of Aion, then the divine realm is nothing.

So, you have to give your all to bear this responsibility.

I don’t know what Aion told you but since he said that you need to be stronger than the Innate Gods, it ans that the future you walk is too difficult.

Why not reject this responsibility?"

Jin was shocked by her words but he resolutely shook his head and countered,

" No, I am going to take the responsibility.

I hate it when Aion calls

master, I feel guilty."

Emma looked at Jin and signed,

"Fine, then I won’t stop you, but rember that your future is going to be more difficult.

Are you ready?"

Jin nodded.

Emma looked at him and started explaining,

"According to legends, when the universe was born there were so beings that were born along with it.

And those beings ,unlike others who have to cultivate from scratch, were born with the peak strength that the universe can bear.

Those beings are called Innate Gods.

They are also called Undying Gods because it is said that they are alive from the birth of this universe."

Jin sucked a deep breath.

He looked at Aion. Aion thought that Jin was scared but the next sentence from Jin froze him.

"Then it ans there is still a chance. Aion, I’ll take responsibility."

Jin said in a childish, serious voice.

Not only Aion, even the other family mbers were stunned.

Jules asked,

"Jin, Why are you..."

Jin smiled and said to others,

"As long as they don’t suppress the universe, I have the confidence to suppress them."

Aion’s eyes flickered and he was deeply shaken from the very inside of his soul.

At this mont he realised that he was falling for this little kid.

It can’t be blad on him. He was a Ti beast who resides in the Ti River and never saw the outside world.

He only saw from the river of ti and learned many things but he is also new to this.

But he accepted this.

Jin looked at everyone and said,

"I have decided,

I will cultivate all the paths.

I feel that I can do that."

The mont he finished all the mbers were once again shocked. Jules wanted to say sothing but Emma gripped his hands tightly and she looked at Jin and said lightly,

"Okay then, grandma supports you very much. But rember that everything cos with a price.

Are you ready to pay that?"

Jin was confused and looked at Emma.

Emma realised that Jin doesn’t understand these things for now. So, she asked in more details,

"Are you willing to sacrifice your childhood for that?

Are you willing to sacrifice your youth for that?

And if one day, you have to leave us for that, are you willing to take that step?"

Jin was stunned when he heard that.

He lowered his head.

Seeing this Emma didn’t pursue.

After the dinner, everyone left for their own rooms.

Jin left and Aion followed.

After entering the room, Jin looked at Aion who followed him.

Jin didn’t say anything and went directly to bed. Aion followed him.

On the bed, Jin looked at the ceiling.

Without turning he asked,

"Is it really necessary to pay the price for everything?"

Aion held his hands. He spoke for the second ti,

"Yes"

Jin turned to him and asked,

"Why"

Aion didn’t say it imdiately.

He looked at Jin and said,

"Because this is a price we have to pay. The mont we co into this universe, we start accumulating the price that we pay in the end."

Jin was stunned. It’s not that he font understood, instead he understood it very well.

Jin just looked at the ceiling and he drifted into sleep.

It was as if today’s information was too much for him to bear.

Aion looked at the sleeping Jin and he raised his hand and stroked his hairs.

He transford into his original human form.
