The other side.

Qingqiu Fox Race.

The tranquil habitat welcod outsiders today.

Under the astonished gazes of all, several War Angels walked toward the central great hall of the habitat.

"What are these angels here for? It’s the first ti a battle race has co here."

"Haven’t the Demon Race been itching to ss with us lately? Maybe these angels are partners the Queen has invited."

"Exactly! The Angel Race is a top-tier race with formidable combat strength—they must have co to cooperate with us."

"If Qingqiu’s elders join hands with the Angel Race, won’t we finally have so peace of mind!"

These weaker races looked on at the arrival of the Angel Race, faces full of relief.

Ever since the Empress announced she’d seek alliances with outsiders, they’d been guessing which race it would be.

Now, seeing it’s the illustrious Angel Race, they were naturally elated.

The stronger the allies, the greater their security.

Before the eyes of the expectant crowd, the angels arrived at the doors of the central great hall.

At this mont, Tu Shanyue had already arrived at the hall entrance with Tushan Yueli.

When the pair saw who the visitors were, mother and daughter’s hearts simultaneously sank.

Elder Mills of the War Angel Race!

Earlier, they’d discovered traces suggesting the Angel Race was conspiring with the Demon Race.

Hence, they’d abandoned any hope of cooperation with the Angel Race, choosing instead to approach the Ghost Race.

And now...

This group of angels had co knocking of their own accord—clearly with ulterior motives.

"Your Majesty, Mills of the Angel Race offers you his respects."

Mills pressed a hand to his chest in salute, expressing his sincerity.

He was Mi Zhan’s younger brother, and also one of the War Angel Race’s elders.

Witnessing this, Tu Shanyue’s brows knitted slightly.

Although alarm bells were sounding in her heart, as clan leader, she had to maintain the minimum degree of courtesy.

After all, the evidence of the Angel Race’s collusion with the Demon Race was not yet conclusive; to suddenly burn bridges would be unwise.

What’s more...

Though she was a Totem Level powerhouse, as a fox—unskilled in combat...

If she offended the Angel Race and went up against War Angel Clan Leader Mi Zhan at the Half-step Totem Peak, the outco would be uncertain.

"May I ask what brings the Angel Race so far to visit us?"

Tu Shanyue maintained a proper smile, but her voice held a faint, well-asured coldness.

Mills glanced about the surroundings, then at Tu Shanyue.

"Your Majesty, this doesn’t seem the suitable place for a discussion."

Upon hearing this, Tu Shanyue flicked her hand, and the group appeared in the council hall.

After everyone was seated, she spoke again, with an obvious tone of probing:

"May I ask why the Angel Race has co to visit us—a gathering of feeble races huddling together for warmth?"

Mills smiled lightly and shook his head:

"You’re too modest, Your Majesty. The Qingqiu Race is adept in arts of control and sealing. What’s more..."

He paused aningfully, "You yourself are a genuine Totem Level expert. How can you call yourselves a small race?"

Tu Shanyue’s gaze grew ever colder.

Though she wasn’t skilled in combat, if the other party kept provoking, she didn’t mind letting these angels witness the might of a Totem Level powerhouse.

Seeming to sense the shift in atmosphere, Mills finally dropped the probing and got straight to the point:

"Your Majesty, we have co to propose establishing an alliance with the Qingqiu Race."

Alliance?

Tu Shanyue was taken aback by these words.

The anger she’d felt monts ago dissipated.

The Angel Race taking the initiative to seek cooperation with the Qingqiu Race?

Sothing’s not right!

Normally, it’s the weaker races that pursue alliances with the strong.

After all, those who propose the alliance lose the initiative.

And these angels would know this perfectly well. What’s more, the Angel Race, though lacking Totem Level combat power at present, still possesses Monarch Level strength—the greatest in the Alternate Space.

No other race can compare.

For such a mighty race to seek alliance with the Qingqiu Race?

Tu Shanyue’s sharp gaze swept over the angels again and again, yet their true intent remained elusive.

But one thing was certain...

She would never choose to ally herself with the Angel Race.

Not only because of their suspected collusion with the Demon Race, more importantly...

Tushan Yueli had already brought back a ssage—

A Human had erged—an epoch-making genius.

Though she intended to verify this herself, with Tushan Yueli’s ticulous character, the report was almost certainly true.

"Apologies, but our Qingqiu Race has no wish to cooperate with you."

Hearing this, Mills of the Angel Race was stunned.

Tu Shanyue’s answer was wholly unexpected.

With the strength of Qingqiu, a lack of allies would leave them isolated and vulnerable.

Therefore...

Ever since Mi Zhan gave him this order, his confidence had been unshakable.

But...

Things today had turned out well beyond his expectation.

"Your Majesty, you ought to reconsider."

"Without our alliance, by Qingqiu’s strength alone, you will never withstand the Demon Race’s assault."

"That need not trouble the Angel Race," Tu Shanyue promptly dismissed him, "Yueli, see them out."

Tu Shanyue had no wish to entangle further with these angels, and signaled directly for Tushan Yueli to escort them away.

Seeing this, Mills’ face imdiately darkened, but he could only acquiesce helplessly.

Though Clan Leader Mi Zhan had no fear of Tu Shanyue, as for Mills—just an elder—he did not dare show disrespect before a Totem Level powerhouse.

As they left, Mills stealthily drew several black crystals from his sleeve, and, while the guards were distracted, tossed them into hidden corners of the Qingqiu Clan Land.

Quickening his pace, he led the angels swiftly away.

The Demonic Qi swirling around those black crystals made his heart pound, yet with a mission entrusted personally by Mi Zhan, he had no choice but to comply.

Before departure, Mi Zhan had specially warned:

If alliance fails, then covertly leave the crystals in the Qingqiu Clan Land.

Though their purpose remained unclear, Mills vaguely guessed their aning...

But this matter, he must not let any of those ordinary War Angels know.

Or else, with the average War Angel’s hatred of the Demon Race, even the Clan Leader himself... couldn’t contain them!

In the great hall, Tu Shanyue gazed at her daughter, asking in a low voice:

"Yueli, in your view, what is the true aim of the Angel Race’s visit?"

Tushan Yueli pondered briefly, worry flickering in her eyes:

"Mother, could they be probing on behalf of the Demon Race? After all, the Demon Race has always coveted the Divine Pattern in your hand..."

Tu Shanyue was silent for a long ti at these words.

This was the worst-case scenario, and the last thing she wanted to confront.

Originally she’d only suspected a handful of traitors within the Angel Race had defected to the Demon Race—but if the entire Angel Race had turned...

"It... shouldn’t have reached such an extent."

Tu Shanyue murmured softly, yet even she failed to convince herself.
