Chapter 713: Chapter 641: One Finger Extinguishing
The place where the two Second-Tier Harpies dived at was precisely the Martial Arts Arena.
At a distance sufficient for about twelve miles from where the Imperial Guard Envoy stood, and even fifty miles from the Royal Palace.
For the Transcendents, several dozen miles was an instant’s journey, but the Eagle Demons were even faster.
The three Unity Realm powerhouses of Dachang, despite being tens of miles away, launched their magic, which the Harpies neither slowed down to defend against nor turned aside to avoid. They took the hits head-on and suffered only minor injuries, instantly regaining the consud Origin, which was less than 0.05%.
The City Protection Array’s illusory guardian phantom, even more powerful, nearly shattered the Harpies’ bodies, causing one of the Eagle Demons to use up 0.8% of its Origin.
But that was all.
With the speed of the Eagle Demons, it would take only two breaths to snatch away human elites and escape the range of the City Protection Array… The human Unity Realm powerhouses simply couldn’t catch up to them.
They had already succeeded more than once before, earlier targeting large cities, and ever since obtaining a treasure capable of montarily breaking through the City Protection Array, they moved in and out of the Dachang Royal Capital as if no one was there.
The Harpy licked her lips as she looked down at the handso human youth below.
At this mont,
The competition for the younger generation was still ongoing.
On the arena stood a disciple of the Immortal Gate, whose opponent had just been carried off.
A young man in the Basic Period of the Eighth Layer leaped onto the stage, “Your winning streak ends here…”
Before he could finish, a fatal sense of crisis shot up his spine to the top of his skull, so chilling it took his breath away.
He stiffened so much that he could hardly lift his head, feeling as though the sky was about to collapse, a mountainous weight pressing down on him, making it hard to breathe!
Disciples of the Immortal Gate had relatively stronger resistance, as they had training against coercive force in their Spirit Space.
However, they still couldn’t move.
The Harpy swiped her claws, turning Source Power into gusts of wind, scooping up several young elites, starting with those near the stone pillars around the arena.
They couldn’t even scream before being swept into the sky.
Several Stepping Void Realm powerhouses from the governnt, in front of the Eagle Demon, were like paper mâché, spitting blood and flying backward after barely exchanging a blow.
Outside the arena, the few audience mbers who hadn’t fainted from shock were horrified.
But they all felt as if their necks were being choked, unable to speak.
The second Harpy swooped down low, her claw reaching out, snatching up another dozen young and vibrant Awakeners into the sky.
Including the two on the stage.
They struggled like drowning victims bound by seaweed, their consciousness gradually sinking into darkness.
Suddenly,
“Bang.”
A soft noise, and colorful bubbles burst.
Sohow, another figure had appeared on the arena stage.
Around eleven or twelve years old, with so baby fat on his face, his erald-green hair defying gravity, he held aloft a small Magic Wand, its tip radiating a hazy glow.
A dream-like beam enveloped the high space around the arena.
The Harpy staggered, and the dozens of young elites just captured crashed to the ground, many imdiately passing out.
‘Fuck, there’s still a Stepping Void master!’
‘We’re saved!’
‘Who is she?’
‘So strong!!’
The audience witnessing this scene inwardly roared with awe.
The Harpy’s eyes sharpened considerably, and she opened her mouth as a piercing screech spread fiercely.
Boom!
The few audience mbers who had survived the pressure until then finally went white-eyed and fainted. So even bled from all orifices, one uttering a moan.
Bamboo Rat Li, being at the forefront, was just a Senior Transcendent and suddenly experienced a violent ringing in her head. Yet, under the force of her strong will and spirit, she still ca around.
Her ntal power constructed layers of barriers, setting up an Illusion Realm around her in a defensive stance—not that she didn’t want to attack. The Harpy’s specialty, “Banshee’s Howl,” was a Spirit Piercing attack, and her own ntal power was even stronger than Bamboo Rat Li’s, rendering her Illusion Techniques virtually useless.
But the defense was enough.
Engaging directly was enough to hold off for a while, and Bamboo Rat Li still had confidence in herself, worst case, she could always call for more help.
The next second,
The Harpy shifted her target and swooshed over the seating area, snatching away several young Awakeners.
Among them was the already unconscious Cao Xinghua.
Bamboo Rat Li: “ヾ( ̄□ ̄;)ノ”
Her short legs tried to catch up, but it was too late.
…
Two harpies in the Unity Realm flew one after the other towards a hole in the sky.
Dachang’s Monarch Qin Guangyue and two other Unity Realm powerhouses were closing in, with Source Power bursting forth, creating spheres of light in the air.
“No, even if it involves those young talents, we can’t let the harpies take them.”
The offspring of high-tier Awakeners often far surpass those of ordinary people. So are born Awakeners.
Harpy species are particularly notable in this aspect.
A gifted young talent, when drained, could provide the harpy species with hundreds of descendants, eventually possibly leading to one or two Stepping Void Realm powerhouses.
The ratio was extrely high.
In several hundred or even a thousand years, the strength of the harpies could entirely surpass Dachang. Then, it would be a disaster of annihilation.
“Kill! Don’t hold back any longer!”
While flying at high speed, Qin Guangyue pointed his sword towards the harpy, and in an instant, mysterious patterns spiraled from the tip of the sword.
“Sky-reaching!”
Brilliant light blood, montarily like a miniature sun.
Terrifying power swept out, causing pedestrians on the streets to fall in all directions.
Massive sword light penetrated for miles and struck the harpy who didn’t want to evade and waste ti.
It directly penetrated the whirlwind defense set up by the wraith, causing the “Banshee’s Howl” sword light to tremble slightly; the radiance dimd significantly, but the final strike landed on the body of the harpy, tearing apart its reddish-brown feathers, blood splattering all around as its body shattered like broken porcelain.
But in that mont, it regathered once again.
This desperate escape thod allowed the harpy to still firmly encircle the dozen or so young talents, preferring to bear it herself rather than let the shockwaves reach them.
“Hehehehe, 1.1% of Origin lost, truly worthy of being Dachang’s king; facing you directly, I might not be a match.”
But, they could lose at most 2-3% of their Origin. With the supply from their clan, it would be restored in rely a few years. The two harpies didn’t care at all.
At that mont,
an alarming sensation ca over them.
Unbeknownst to them, Fani had already arrived in the air less than a kiloter away; her right hand clenched into a fist, and huge shadows of fists ford from the grey airflow shot straight out.
Boom!
Like fireworks, blood and flesh exploded all over the sky.
Two monts later, the harpy’s body reconvened, her complexion pale, able to only wrap around three of the strongest young talents while the others fell from the sky.
‘6.5%, one move cost 6.5% of my Origin, what kind of attack was that!’
The blow, gathered with all her spiritual focus by Fani, left her sowhat unwilling as she watched the harpy rise higher in the air. As a wolf-like creature, how could she possibly catch up to a winged harpy in the air?
Tang Yu also felt a bit of a headache.
With his current half-worthy space abilities, it was sowhat difficult to pursue her.
Estimating his own domain, it was also hard to cover a Second Tier wraith twenty to thirty kiloters away.
“Fani, this girl, why is she so straightforward? Can’t she just swing a punch at the harpy grasping Cao Xinghua!”
He sighed.
Suddenly, he surged into the high sky, using several space abilities with “Instant Step Revised”. In a mont, he traversed several kiloters and closed the gap.
Feeling the tearing pull of space on his muscles, Tang Yu steadied himself, stood high in the air, and pointed towards the fleeing harpy.
A cluster of glazed flas ignited at his fingertips, the dancing fla light reflecting the fleeing figure of the harpy.
He flicked his finger,
and the glazed colored fla shot out, piercing through layers of space.
The harpy felt great horror. She scread sharply and hurriedly dodged to one side, not caring to take the shortest route.
Whoosh~
The glazed colored fla still precisely fell on the harpy, burning ferociously, completely enveloping the harpy. Seen from a distance, she looked like a fiery figure, except the flas were of glazed color.
Exceptionally brilliant.
The fla did not extinguish, and the wraith’s body continuously repaired itself, emitting painful wails.
But in just three seconds,
Whoosh~
the Glazed Fla extinguished, leaving only the charred silhouette of a wraith in mid-air, slowly falling down, the ashes scattering in the wind.
That included the terrifying abyss-like aura.
In the Royal Capital of Dachang, utter silence reigned!
