Chapter 696: Chapter 624 Law Fragnt Crystallization

The combat assessnt carried a weight of 2.5, ranking at the forefront among the eighteen types of assessnts. This particular assessnt was also the most highly anticipated among all the others.

However, the number of participants was the least.

Combat differed from other items because the opponents the competitors faced were puppets with a certain level of combat skills. Blades and swords are blind, and even though the weapons used in the assessnt were only blunt, a defeat in the assessnt could still lead to injuries, significantly impacting subsequent assessnts.

So participants initially took part in the combat assessnt and suffered arm injuries from the beatings by the puppets; in the subsequent punching power test, they could only exert fifty to sixty percent of their strength… Apart from a few contestants who were very confident in themselves, most planned to leave the combat assessnt until last.

The youth stepped onto the combat platform and took his position.

The sect disciple in charge of the assessnt glanced over and said, “Awakening Basic Period of the First Layer, call up puppet number four.”

Opposite the platform, a human-shaped puppet bearing the number “4” walked over to the weapon rack, picked up a standard-issue long spear—a common weapon—and leaped onto the platform, standing at a distance from the youth.

“Holding out for twenty seconds against the assessnt puppet counts as a passing score, fifty seconds for a good score, and three minutes for an extraordinary score… Now, the combat assessnt begins!”

The red flag waved down.

Puppet number four lunged forward in a bow step, thrusting the spear straight ahead.

“Clang!”

The youth grasped his spear and swept it to the side, spinning it in a half-circle that left the puppet wide open.

Puppet number four’s reaction was even quicker; it imdiately retracted its arm and used its body to drive the staff of the spear down with force.

Boom!

On the platform,

The two long spears swept and thrust continuously, the sounds of clanging unceasing, leaving countless afterimages in the eyes of the spectators within the gymnasium.

“This is a true Awakener! We must sign this contestant. With him in our next movie, it’s bound to be a smash hit!”

Prior combat assessnts also saw Awakeners take the stage.

To the audience’s slight disappointnt, those Awakeners had brute strength but lacked the corresponding combat skills, and sotis they didn’t last as long as ordinary people against the assessnt puppets.

Occasionally, an Awakener with a Special Ability appeared, clapping hands together to produce a soccer-ball-sized Fireball… But even setting aside the two to three seconds it took to form, the impressive-looking Fireball was simply swept away by a mighty slash of the puppet’s spear, exploding like fireworks in the sky.

— It was purely a visual effect.

Those who managed to hold out for twenty seconds and pass did so by dodging and delaying, looking quite beleaguered in the process.

And now,

The youth was evenly matched with the puppet.

The gusts of wind visibly scattered the grass and debris on the platform.

In the eyes of the audience, all that remained were two dizzying figures.

So spectators had unconsciously stood up, their ice cream cones tilting, dripping onto the shiny heads of those in the front row without them even noticing—they were completely srized!

Just this one battle alone made today’s ticket worth it!

“That’s enough, the three minutes are up, co down now.”

Not until the puppet and the youth were separated by the referee did the audience snap back to reality, looking unsatisfied.

At the Immortal Gate’s locale, there was only Tang Yu, a solitary Sect Leader left.

He had been watching the live broadcast all along.

Those few contestants who achieved an extraordinary evaluation were carefully noted by him, and he felt an urge to go and see the talents of these participants in person.

The audience at the venue, including the Thirteen Bureau of Anxia Country, was unclear what an extraordinary evaluation ant; at most, they were just astonished.

But Tang Yu knew very well, as he had designed several of the assessnt items himself.

Extraordinary was a height that no ordinary person could ever hope to reach.

As long as one achieved an extraordinary evaluation in any item, even if they failed in all other assessnts, the Immortal Gate would still take them in—provided they passed the loyalty test.

He had a premonition that this ti he would really net so good seedlings.

In a few more years, these individuals with exceptional talent might just beco the backbone of the Green Shadow.

“Hmm?”

He raised an eyebrow as he received another alert about space fluctuations within his Territory.

A single Instant Teleportation brought him to the outside of the Immortal Gate Mountain, near Lotus Pond.

A space rift, approximately seven or eight ters long, appeared as if a tear had been made in a piece of paper, allowing a view of the scene on the other side.

He waited several seconds, with no Mutant Beast in sight.

This was normal; the new world was vast with sparse beasts. Even in the dense forests of Mutant Beasts, it wasn’t guaranteed that they road everywhere, and the short-lived, unstable rifts often went unnoticed by them.

The Thirteen Bureau couldn’t detect it either.

More often, it was only after exterminating the Mutant Beasts that had passed through the Black Seam that they were aware a seam had appeared in the area.

The unstable Black Seam before him lasted for about ten more seconds before it began to shrink, as if trying to zip itself back up.

However, at that mont, the zipper seed to jam, unable to close.

He excercised full control over the fabric of space-ti within his Territory.

He had allowed the Black Seam to appear but had not permitted it to vanish, and so, an unstable rift was forcibly fixed in place.

With one stride, he crossed over the rift; the restrictive force of the plane imdiately descended, causing him to frown.

The map of his Territory expanded in his mind.

To the east, southeast, and north were three distinct points of light.

“It looks like this area is about the sa distant from the other three stable Black Seam entrances; it’s suitable for establishing a Sub-territory for backup purposes.”

With the continuous inco of Telekinesis Energy value in Anxia Country, the cost of one million for a Sub-territory was no longer significant to him.

Wealth allowed for capriciousness!

Tang Yu’s Perception spread out, facing significant resistance.

Within the range, only three weak Mutant Beasts were present.

“This appears to be a relatively safe area; there’s also a Celestine Mine. In a month or two, when the second batch of Immortal Gate disciples has grown stronger, we can start the mining industry in the new world.”

“The new world is vast beyond asure, with nurous veins to mine, and the surrounding threats are not formidable, making for easy developnt.”

Tang Yu wandered through the forests, searching for a suitable place to establish the Sub-territory.

Suddenly,

“Hmm?”

There appeared to be a void within his Perception that he couldn’t see into.

“How strange, and there isn’t even any sign of danger.”

After barely half a second’s hesitation, Tang Yu commanded the surrounding bushes to part with his mind and flew towards that void.

“What is that…”

A dozen ters away,

A golden crystal the size of a fingernail floated about a ter above the ground.

The golden crystal radiated a soft glow; the surrounding branches, leaves, and undergrowth were all bathed in a brilliant golden shine, sparkling gloriously.

The phenonon was about five or six ters in radius, exactly the size of the void in his Perception.

Inexplicably,

A desire arose from within him.

He didn’t approach imdiately. Instead, he rapidly searched his mory for matching information.

“Could it be… a Law Fragnt Crystal?!”

“Indeed, Sky Blue Star is part of the primary universe, and the new world is another plane. The laws of the main plane and other planes have slight differences. Where the spaces of two planes interact, it’s possible for Law Fragnts to crystallize.”

He stepped forward and grasped the Law Fragnt Crystal in his hand.

In an instant,

His understanding of the tal Series Law, which he had barely touched upon, began to take shape, albeit still vague.

It was simply…

Anxia Country discovered hundreds of Black Seams every month, and across the whole of Sky Blue Star, needless to say, even if the chance of finding a Law Fragnt Crystal was low, with such numbers…

He couldn’t help but feel exhilarated!
