Chapter 556: Chapter 497: The World of the Black Tide
Green Shadow, Inner City area.
Before the Transmission Array, Tang Yu was ready for departure, dressed in updated dark-silver armor selected from designs obtained from the Holy City and optimized. It was now a Second Tier Divine Weapon.
— “Dark Dragon.”
This armor didn’t boast various miscellaneous functions but focused on one thing: it was incredibly hard, exceptionally strong in defense, and capable of absorbing over ninety-five percent of impact forces.
Eileen, Nancy, Luo Zhe, Kong, Grey Blade, and other followers stood behind him. Apart from Eileen, they had also upgraded their equipnt to a higher grade. Even those with weaker abilities like Xing Ling and Xing Yue, who were not adept at combat, had the ability to fight against more than five Transcendents single-handedly.
Two months ago, with Green Shadow’s current lineup, they could have completely overwheld over a hundred mbers of the Alien Race in the battle in Australia.
“In the past half-month, there has been no trace of activities from Alien Race Transcendents in the Holy City, nor elsewhere. On Earth, the Alien Race has almost disappeared without a trace, hiding sowhere, but more likely they are brewing sothing. We don’t have much ti left.”
This ti, the followers left behind included Grey Blade, Kong, Greta, Tylon, the Carn Three Brothers, Fani, Red Moon, and others.
Everyone else would accompany him, entering directly into an unknown world.
There were not many seeing them off. Apart from the followers, there were only a few senior Green Shadow mbers like Chen Haiping. The City Lord and senior officials traveling was a deeply kept secret.

The Transmission Array’s options surfaced before his eyes.
Tang Yu activated the Transmission Array and ordered Nightmare One to go first.
Five seconds, ten seconds had passed, and he could still feel a weak connection to Nightmare One.
He took a step forward and entered the range of the Transmission Array.
“Sir, allow to scout ahead,” Luo Zhe approached, clanking in his heavy armor. “You shouldn’t risk yourself.”
“The necessary preparations have been made. We cannot hesitate over the small remaining risk.”
Tang Yu shook his head. The Return City Scroll was not usable. They didn’t know what the world on the other side was like. If he didn’t go over personally, how could those sent return? They couldn’t even relay any information.
The Transmission Array burst into glorious radiance, and his followers were prepared.
Eileen applied Ice Armor to everyone, Luo Zhe held a giant shield, Winnie upheld a golden Light Shield…
The next mont,
They were enveloped by the power of space and disappeared.
…
The sky was a dull gray, shrouded by thick fog, never seeing the sunlight.
The earth was desolate, with only the dark, withered branches in view, leaving the world seemingly only in shades of black and gray.
Furthermore, the Source Power was sparse, less than one-thirtieth that of the Territory.
Tang Yu stepped onto the barren ground, his gaze sweeping over the area, only to see Nightmare One standing not far off, with several grotesque Monster corpses at its feet.
Further away, there were pieces of broken machinery and long-rotted bodies.
“It seems the transmission location is fixed.”
He observed the ground underfoot—it was rugged terrain—they were situated atop a desolate mountain, without any trace of a Transmission Array.
One-way transmission, this too was within his expectations.
With a slight sense of perception, the connection to his Territory was still intact—a much stronger sensation than controlling a Puppet, even allowing for so simple operations to be remotely executed.
Eileen and the others looked over, waiting for his arrangents.
There seed to be no imdiate danger in the vicinity. Tang Yu pondered for a mont, “I’ll start by trying to construct a Transmission Array…”
The contingency plan had taken into account the possibility that the array was one-way, but since the Territory’s array had managed to transport them to this unknown world, building a Transmission Array here and establishing a two-way connection should, in theory, enable a return to the Territory.
To prevent any inability to remotely access the resources of the Territory, Tang Yu’s Space Ring was stocked with a million units of Source Crystals and countless amounts of basic materials like lumber and stone.
He raised his hand, about to begin carving out a Sub-territory when his brow suddenly furrowed.
A faint sense of discomfort and rejection enveloped his heart.
Tang Yu had a premonition that trying to create a Sub-territory now might bring trouble.
“Sub-territory… we must find a suitable place to establish it. For now, let’s first figure out where we are,” he said, turning to Eileen, Luo Zhe, and the others. “Is this the world you originally belonged to?”
As another Monster approached in the distance, Eileen froze it with ice and nodded, “The aura of these Dark Creatures is slightly different from that of Demonized Beasts; indeed, this is our world.”
“They are said to have first appeared fifty to sixty years ago, purportedly dispatched by an Outer Heaven Evil God to invade our world. Now it seems likely that the ‘Evil God’ is actually the Devil Race.”
Luo Zhe also slightly nodded, “The aura is indeed similar to that of Demonized Beasts, but I was born after humanity had already been divided by the Black Tide, with only individual cities remaining as bastions. I’m not certain how the Dark Creatures first appeared, but this world seems to lack an Abyssal Rift.”
He looked at Zabol.
Of the followers recruited in this world, Zabol was the oldest, after all, a Transcendent, certainly having witnessed that era.
At this mont, Zabol was overwheld with excitent, inhaling the familiar air of this world.
The Lord truly possessed the mighty power to traverse worlds.
In just two short months, his strength had increased many tis over!
Royal Capital, I will return soon!
Suppressing the excitent within, Zabol recounted slowly, “To be precise, it was fifty-eight years ago… One year in this world is slightly longer than on Earth, but the difference is negligible.
The sun was still shining brightly when suddenly, one day, the sky turned utterly dim, and a massive space crack that almost spanned the entire sky appeared, from which the Dark Creatures erged.
Eventually, the crack disappeared, but the numbers of Dark Creatures continued to grow. From what I can surmise, these Dark Creatures possess the capabilities to reproduce and evolve on their own.
The day the Dark Creatures appeared was marked by a terrible battle above the Royal Capital, a battle I could not join as an Awakener. I’m unclear about the outco, but the Kingdom likely won. After that, a protracted war ensued, with humanity steadily retreating and relying on tall city walls for defense.”
Zabol had also drawn a map of the continent. His movents had been limited after the rise of the Black Tide, but he was familiar with the layout before the apocalypse.
What was now necessary was to ascertain their location.
Eileen and the others concealed their presence and dispersed to explore.
With the Contract in place, making contact was easy, and the function included the ability to pinpoint their location, ensuring they wouldn’t lose track of each other.
Half an hour later, Luo Zhe, who had been scouting toward the southeast, made a discovery.
“I’ve spotted a city, sowhat dilapidated from a distance, but there are living humans inside—not just a few. Their vitality stands out starkly in this desolate world.”
The group reconvened and headed southeast.
For safety and discretion, Tang Yu did not fly, nor did he use the Floating Chariot or Rhino Chariot; relying instead on his legs and maintaining the speed of an Eighth or Ninth Layer Awakener.
Before long, they could see the outline of the city walls in the distance.
Eileen, sprinting along, suddenly covered her mouth, her eyes barely concealing her astonishnt.
