Chapter 368: Chapter 358 A Peaceful Life

Transfer Station.

This place was both a midpoint for delving into the wilderness and the forefront of the war… Jing City had a total of nine transfer stations, most of which had been destroyed and then rebuilt.

The existence of the transfer stations served the purpose of war, extending Jing City’s reach by establishing several satellite cities, comparable to dium-sized sanctuaries, around it.

The satellite cities also suffered damage; when the Golden Eagle attacked, it almost destroyed one of the satellite cities. However, thanks to the layered defense lines, Jing City’s sanctuary had not been breached from the outside since its establishnt.

Naturally, transfer stations had no hotels or restaurants, just steel fortresses designed for war.

Freelance Awakeners could only rest briefly at the transfer stations, while leading rcenary corps and other major forces had personnel stationed there, allowing their mbers to enjoy more anities.

And the eight major forces, representing over two-thirds of Jing City’s official power, were essentially the masters of the transfer stations. They entered the only large building in the transfer station, a five-story fortress that doubled as a command center, where they found a conference room to discuss matters and wait.

This was the second most secure area in the transfer station, second only to the underground fortresses.

A seemingly ordinary paper airplane, folded in an unremarkable fashion, flew directly through a third-floor window and landed on the table before them.

A chilling thought!

Even if Green Shadow was a business partner.

An Awakener from Blade hurried downstairs and soon pushed open the door to return to the conference room.

The person shook their head, “I’ve asked around; the warriors stationed outside have noticed nothing unusual… I’ve instructed them to be more vigilant and patrol without causing a commotion, but still, they’ve found nothing.”

In the conference room, an ability user from the Spiritual Series with perception abilities opened their eyes, disheartened, shaking their head:

“Within my range of perception, there’s no one hiding.”

Not far from the fortress, hidden in the shadows of a small building.

Feeling a surge of spiritual power sweep across, Lorraine raised an eyebrow, “This level of spiritual power is not enough to see through my ‘Shadow Concealing Skill.’

She looked around at the Awakeners patrolling back and forth. Their gaze swept over the shadows of the small building without noticing anything, as if it were just an ordinary corner of a small building with no cover to hide in, no suspicious people present.

That was the power of the ‘Shadow Concealing Skill,’ blending completely into the shadows.

“This trick from Grey Blade is quite useful, but damn it, I’m just a bartender!” Lorraine complained as she took advantage of the gap in the patrol schedule, darting out of the building’s shadow with a light step, and instantly rged into the shadow of a large tree.

Using the shadows of buildings, trees, and accumulated debris, Lorraine quickly left the fortress area, dusted off her trousers, and turned to lt into the midst of freelance Awakeners.

anwhile, the eight forces of Jing City, having searched fruitlessly and growing more wary, were no longer waiting.

Green Shadow had provided the detailed coordinates of their convoy, located a few kiloters from the transfer station.

However, people from the eight forces felt it strange… Since Green Shadow’s convoy had already reached the territory of Jing City, why not just drive straight into the second transfer station, if only to resupply there.

Under the astonished gaze of the freelance Awakeners, the allied convoy of Jing City’s eight major forces rolled out slowly from the opened steel gates of the transfer station.

The cold, damp wind blew.

The steel torrent rolled along the broken road, with several tanks acting as the vanguard, pushing obstacles on the road aside.

Apart from the transfer stations, even just a few kiloters away, there were Demonized Beasts everywhere. People like Blade, wielding their weapons, cut down any attacking Demonized Beasts to protect the convoy as it moved.

“How much is the Rune Equipnt worth eight million, exactly?”

“Green Shadow had sent out a trade caravan even before reaching a deal with us, carrying such costly cargo—quite the audacious move.”

“Is the value of eight million for the goods before or after they’ve been discounted? I admit Green Shadow has many skilled fighters, but it would be difficult for such a large caravan to arrive in Jing City unscathed.”

During the conversation,

Blade estimated the approximate distance, referencing the coordinates.

He spoke up, his voice carrying across the entire caravan, “We should be close by now, everyone start looking.”

The Winged Man ability user, Gu Le, in an instant, white wings burst through two openings in the back of his combat uniform, rapidly growing out with a scattering of white feathers.

The wings flapped, soaring into the sky.

After a brief look around, he imdiately spotted sothing, “Over there!”

Blade and others started running, sprinting in the direction Gu Le had indicated.

Soon, they could see from afar.

A kiloter away, giant wooden crates were stacked into a small hill, and nearby, awakeners in Green Shadow’s distinctive combat uniforms were guarding it.

They seed utterly bored.

So amused themselves with demonized beasts, honing their skills.

Others leaned against the wooden crates, smoking.

And above them… Blade and the others looked up to see several awakeners with black backpacks seemingly sparring, maintaining a state of flight.

“So many flyers, huh?”

“Where is the Green Shadow caravan? It doesn’t make sense to drop the cargo here and just leave, does it?”

Faces full of confusion.

The first trade with Jing City was a lucrative return.

An initial two million Source Crystals had already been transferred, significantly replenishing Tang Yu’s depleted Crystal Storage, with future inco dependent on the sales of rune equipnt. The supervisory personnel would be from Jing City’s Intelligence Departnt.

“Perhaps in the future, we could change the strategy, selling rune equipnt at a fixed price to Jing City’s eight major forces. How they sell it from there, and for how many Source Crystals, would be up to them, and we could save on supervisory manpower.”

But it wasn’t possible the first ti.

Jing City certainly wouldn’t accept it if the price was too high, and he would feel at a loss if it was too low. Tang Yu couldn’t gauge the market price for rune equipnt in Jing City. Currently, even if the selling price of rune equipnt to the outside world from his territory was doubled, sales volu wouldn’t necessarily decrease by much.

Using the sales situation of the first batch of rune equipnt in Jing City as a benchmark, Tang Yu would have a asure to go by for the second trade.

The departure to the Yangtze River Delta was set for five days later.

During this ti, the territory was peaceful, with the only noteworthy concern being the Mirage Mountain Range outside of Jing City.

Tang Yu had declined the invitation for exploration from the eight forces. Once Nancy’s power entered a slow growth phase, he planned to have Nancy make a trip to the Mirage Mountain Range, following the sa direction as the last joint exploration team.

Potentially leading to an intact palace.

But the journey would undoubtedly be fraught with danger, and Nancy might not make it successfully. Fortunately, with Transcendent strength combined with a Return City Scroll, even encountering Transcendent second-tier or third-tier adversaries would be enough to escape.

Tang Yu’s life returned to its regular routine.

Every night at ten o’clock, he began cultivation, continuing until six the next morning, replacing sleep ti.

In the morning, he read the Rune Language Book, focusing primarily on Pharmacy knowledge and conducting corresponding Potion research.
