972: Chapter 87: The Feast of Wolves 3_2 972: Chapter 87: The Feast of Wolves 3_2 Therefore, I can’t work more.

The more I work, the more I lose, dammit.

I just think, if those dumb politicians can beco Congressn, why can’t I?

If those people can steal the nation’s power and fool us poor bastards, why can’t we fight back?

After all these years of fighting between the two parties, has our country gotten better?

Has our life gotten better?

No!

Not at all!

If it has, then why are we living on the streets?

The Democratic Party, for the sake of votes, intentionally loosened immigration restrictions.

Those illegal immigrants from God-knows-where took our jobs, turned our lives into chaos!

And yet, the Democratic Party has the audacity to claim they’re progressive, that they represent civil rights!

The Republican Party isn’t much better either — tax cuts for big corporations, budget increases for the police departnt — but have they ever helped us unlucky souls?

No, not at all.

They just want us to rot here, preferably die from diseases, die from drug addiction, die from whatever!

A lot of you are like , ending up on the streets because of the punishnts of the justice system.

You all know my story.

I fought for the country — even though it was an unjust war — but I, as an ordinary soldier, fought for the nation, stayed in the warzones for so many years.

In the end, my son is Black, and my wife ran off with a Black man.

Ha!

It’s not that I’m racist, I hate — I hate that bastard of a judge!

I want to be a Congressman, to stand on Capitol Hill and face those big shots, telling them: Arica isn’t just the country of big capitalists; it’s also the Arica of us poor bastards!”

Nothing but emotion, along with a pile of lies and flaws.

In a way, Cort has already beco a mature politician.

He speaks words he himself doesn’t believe, stirring up emotions among his audience.

Now, in his narrative, Arica becos the Arica of the poor bastards.

Tomorrow, when he moves to a middle-class neighborhood, he’ll say Arica is the Arica of hardworking, good people.

When he visits a district full of immigrants, he’ll say Arica is the Arica of new immigrants.

As long as it gets him votes, his political views can morph — after all, they’re all marginal views anyway.

The holess cheer, celebrating that soone like Cort recognizes their kind as the true owners of Arica, cheering for Cort’s angry tirades.

Leaping off the car, Cort purposely stumbled clumsily, eliciting another round of laughter from the crowd.

After the cheers subsided, they seed to relinquish their expectations for Cort, sizing up this clown-like ‘candidate,’ these holess folks only yearned to mock him rcilessly.

The harsh reality had numbed these people.

After the emotional outburst ca an extre emptiness; no amount of fury, pain, or desire for change could escape the iron grip of reality.

No one believed Cort could beco a Congressman.

It’s just that, the next ti they brag to other holess folks, they might casually ntion Cort, saying:

‘Hey, you know that dumbass whose wife cheated on him?

He’s actually running for Congressman!’

And that, was enough.

Massive street campaigns, extre political views, backing from backstage bigwigs, na recognition or at least being heard of by district voters — all these are essential elents.

If it works, keep at it.

If it doesn’t, optimize the process, then keep going.

Chan isn’t betting on one or two people, but a whole bunch.

The already successful ones include Mike Pompeo, Niusen, Wolf, while the ones still climbing include Cort, Fidel, and the like.

Diversified investnts always yield returns sooner or later.

“Your performance wasn’t bad, but your choice of words was a little too contrived.

Rember, when you face groups like holess people, use the simplest and dumbest everyday language.”

If one were to strictly define Eris’ current job, he might be seen as Chan’s investnt manager in the realm of political investnts.

Chan provides money and support, and Eris ensures Chan’s demands are implented.

Whether it’s part of his actual duties or due to the special relationship between Cort and Chan, Eris was more than willing to closely guide Cort during his street campaign events.

“Mr.

Eris, um, if I were to host an event in a middle-class community, should I use more formal language?”

Scott showed so perceptiveness, earning Eris’ approving nod.

“Buddy, you’re catching on.

At that ti, everything from your outfit to your event design will need to be redone.

Even future dia promotions will need careful planning — we need to find the safest approach that also highlights your personal traits.

Of course, those plans can wait for now.

Chan’s expectation for you is that, at the very least, you don’t lose too miserably in next year’s district battle.

After all, you’re just starting out.”

The blond veteran shrank his neck nervously and asked.

“Mr.

Eris, do I really have no chance at all?

I an, if I put in enough effort.”

Humans naturally yearn for success.

Cort had seen Wolf’s display of dominance within the California Elephant Party, witnessed Chan’s wisdom in orchestrating strategies from the shadows.

In his mind, with support from Republican Party forces and his ability to bring new voter bases to the party, there had to be so chance, right?

“Not easy at all.

The district I chose for you is already one of the easier ones, but there are three candidates here with solid political foundations.

One is the incumbent Congressman, a lawyer by training.

His son is involved in a prostitute murder case, and for certain reasons, this dirt has surfaced, although it hasn’t yet made major news outlets.
