Chapter 293
~Valerie’s POV~
"Shit!"
I rose from bed and scanned everywhere.
My mind was a bit foggy from everything that had happened. I wasn’t sure if it really happened or it was another dream, but everything felt so real.
Just that, if it was real, how co I had no idea when Xade entered my room?
"Valerie?" I heard Kai’s worried voice, snapping from my daze.
"Coming. I’m dressing up. You can leave first," I called outa nd jumped out of bed, scurrying into the bathroom for a quick shower.
I spent five minutes in there, making sure I did not reek of any more arousal or orgasm.
I was still wet when I woke up, with so dried cum stains on my panties.
My whole brain was wrecked silly just trying to figure out.
"Well, if you can’t, then perhaps asking him would be easy."
"Wait, what? Astra, are you..."
I exhaled and focused on dressing up rather than engaging in that talk. Who walks up to a guy and asks straight up if he ca to your room the previous night to eat you out?
I shook my head at the strange thought.
I got ready in another five—one of the beauties of my training with my Uncle Zade. Getting ready in the minimal amount of ti possible was a given.
I was already out of my door and heading downstairs when I ran into Xade outside by the door.
I nearly slamd into him when my legs hit pause.
I sighed, looking up only to see that wonderful, playful, deadly smirk on his face.
"Xade."
"Hey, little wolf."
He still had that nickna in his head.
I looked away and glanced around. I didn’t expect to see any of them outside, honestly. I thought they’d have left already—especially Dristan, who had barely spoken to since our last blow-up last night.
But there they were. Well... all of them except him.
Xade leaned casually on the railing like he hadn’t snuck into my room last night and ruined my brain.
Kai was frowning at his watch, clearly wondering what was taking so long, and Axel was tossing a piece of candy in the air and catching it with his mouth.
"Finally," Ash muttered as I stepped outside, breathless from running. "We were about to send a search party."
"Sorry," I said, trying to play it cool, even though my knees were already wobbly just standing near Xade.
Kai gave a look, half concerned, half annoyed, but didn’t press it.
We headed out together, the breeze cool against my skin, but nothing helped the heat swirling through my thoughts.
The sun was too bright, the corridors too loud, and every step I took felt like I was walking underwater.
My head was still foggy from the night before.
By the ti we arrived at school, the hallways were buzzing with noise, and I peeled off from the guys with a quick wave, heading to class.
They, along with the Lycans, were now sharing the sa special class.
I spotted the Professor slipping into the class, her heels clicking on the ground and a thick file clutched to her chest.
Shit.
I rushed in right behind her, breath slightly ragged. As I tried to make myself as inconspicuous as possible, she turned slowly with that tight-lipped, unimpressed expression that could silence a whole stadium.
"Miss Valerie," she said dryly, raising a brow without even needing to look at the clock. "You’re late."
"I’m sorry, Professor," I murmured, bowing my head slightly. "It won’t happen again."
"It better not," she said, adjusting her glasses and turning toward the board without another word.
I slinked toward my seat, catching Isla and Erald exchanging amused glances as I slid into the chair behind them.
Isla leaned in with a knowing smirk. "Let guess. Slept in because your night was so wild?"
Erald nudged . "Or you were being... occupied by one of your too-many mates?"
I gave them both a warning glare, but the flush creeping up my neck betrayed . My phone buzzed under the desk.
Isla: Val... are you serious right now?You slept in? With them around?
Erald:Oh my Moon. Did you finally do it?Val, don’t play. Who was it?
Erald: Dristan? Xade? You’ve been glowing since you walked in.
I sighed and kept my eyes on the board, typing a quick response.
:No. I didn’t sleep with anyone... but sothing else happened.
They both gasped softly, then... typing showed on my screen.
I was dead at.
Isla: Sothing ELSE?! What does that even an?!
Erald:Wait, wait, wait—explain. Now.
"Erald?" the Professor’s voice cut across the room like a whip.
Erald jolted upright in her seat. "Y-Yes, Professor?"
"What are you whispering about back there?"
Quick as a cat, Erald dropped her notebook, bending down to retrieve it. "Sorry, just dropped my notes."
She reached down, subtly glancing at the boy beside her’s notebook, then straightened up with a grin. "And I believe the answer to your question is... ’dramatic irony.’"
The Professor narrowed her eyes. "Correct, but next ti, pay more attention and less ti chatting. Last warning."
"Yes, ma’am," Erald said sweetly before plopping back into her seat.
She shot another ssage.
Erald: Worth the risk. Now spill the rest!
:Later. Not here.
The mont class ended, I barely made it out of the classroom before Isla and Erald descended on near my locker.
Erald linked arms with . "Talk. Now."
Isla blocked my other side. "We’ll scream in this hallway if you don’t."
I groaned. "Okay, okay." I leaned in closer. "I don’t know if it was a dream... or if it really happened."
They both blinked.
"What do you an?" Isla whispered.
"I woke up... um... wet. Very wet. And sore. I thought I had dread it, but I hink there were signs of sothing. Soone."
Erald gasped. "Girl, what kind of signs?"
"I think... I think Xade ca to my room." I glanced down, my voice low. "And went down on ."
Both of them stared at like I’d just turned into a unicorn.
"You need to ask him," Isla said, grabbing my shoulder.
"Right now," Erald added.
"I can’t just—" I started to protest when I noticed movent down the hallway.
Walking in slow, casual strides like the night didn’t haunt my every breath. His smirk—oh, Moon, that smirk—t my gaze.
Xade.
