His black eyes, bright with surprise and delight, flashed unexpectedly across his handso face.

After a mont, he pursed his lips and spoke in a calm voice.

"Just a small injury."

Upon hearing his words, Sumr Shawcross was at a loss.

In his view, what qualifies as a serious injury? Does it have to threaten one’s life to count as serious?

"There’s already so much blood, how could it be just a small injury?" she murmured, biting her lip, her voice filled with an inexplicable choke.

She lowered her head, worriedly looking at the wound on his wrist, her eyes reddening instantly.

Soone like her fears pain—she finds even a needle prick painful—but his hand had been sliced open so deeply, how could it not hurt? Yet he always endured his injuries in silence...

She had always thought he was so kind of abnormal person, built differently from ordinary people. But now she realized... perhaps no one genuinely cared for him, so he disdainfully kept his own pain and suffering hidden.

Maybe it’s because... no one truly cares about him.

The thought made her heart ache with bitterness and discomfort.

...

When her choked voice fell, Noah Drexler stiffened once more.

He lifted his eyes, gazing at her face. When he saw her slightly moist eyes and the deep concern written on her face...

His heart pounded fiercely!

Is she... hurting for him?

He held his breath, staring at her for a long while, before finally moving his thin lips to ask her.

"Do you... care about ?"

His deep voice was filled with uncertainty... He had never felt so unsure before...

In the business world, he could solve all problems with strong asures. As long as he was strong, there would be no problem.

But... with her, he repeatedly found himself helpless. To him, she was the world’s toughest riddle, one he was powerless against, unable to be forceful, and yet clueless on how to be gentle with her.

Noah Drexler’s words made Sumr pause. She sniffled, then spoke with certainty.

"Of course, you are my husband."

He was her husband, of course she cared for him!

When her words ended, the room fell silent. Though she kept her head down, she could feel the man’s intensely heated gaze.

Just as she wondered and prepared to lift her head, the man stretched out his other hand, his long fingers threading through her hair to steady the back of her head.

And the wetness in her eyes began to spill slowly from the corners.

Seeing this, Noah Drexler felt another movent in his heart.

He lifted his long thumb gently, helping to wipe away her tears. When his finger touched that warm crystal, his handso, cold face turned from joyful to excited...

This was... the tears she shed for him...
