"I’ve eaten." Lu Jingang paused slightly in the act of drying his hair and didn’t turn around to look at her. He inexplicably kept rembering the unexpected kiss just now, which made him feel particularly troubled and speechless. However, he couldn’t show this awkwardness and could only pretend to be calm, with his back to her.

He kept telling himself, as long as he wasn’t embarrassed, the embarrassnt belonged to soone else.

"Then auntie, you don’t have to make too much! Otherwise, it’ll be wasted if we can’t finish it. My leg isn’t very convenient for going downstairs, so if you finish cooking, could you bring it up for ? Thank you." Mu Lezhu also felt a bit awkward herself. Seeing that he didn’t turn around to look at her, she breathed a sigh of relief and imdiately turned her attention to Aunt Chen at the door.

"Alright, I’ll bring up Mr. Lu’s ginger tea later too." Aunt Chen nodded with a smile and asked with concern, "Mr. Lu, your pants and shoes are wet. Do you need to change? Otherwise, it’s easy to catch a cold."

"Do you have n’s pants and shoes?" Hearing this, Lu Jingang suddenly turned his head to look at Mu Lezhu, throwing the earlier awkwardness aside. His sharp and indifferent gaze also mixed with obvious displeasure.

Being questioned like this, Mu Lezhu was montarily dumbfounded, staring blankly at him, not yet reacting when she heard him coldly question again, "You live alone, where did you get n’s things?"

Mu Lezhu was speechless and suddenly doubted his intelligence, rolling her eyes at him. Seeing Lu Jingang misunderstanding the situation, Aunt Chen quickly explained, fearing they would argue, "Mr. Lu, you’ve misunderstood. The master had so new clothes made before he got sick, but they were never worn. It was presumptuous of to think you might want to change now that your pants are so wet. I apologize."

Hearing this, Lu Jingang pressed his lips into a thin line, feeling that the awkward atmosphere around them was only getting thicker.

"Pfft~" Mu Lezhu couldn’t hold back her laughter after seeing his reaction, though she tried to cover her mouth with her hand, she didn’t restrain her laughing at all.

Hearing her laugh, Lu Jingang’s face turned black all over, regretting his overly big reaction and questioning why he couldn’t wrap his mind around the situation earlier.

"It’s fine, Auntie. You can go busy yourself!" Mu Lezhu, holding back her laughter, comforted the sowhat uneasy Aunt Chen.

"Does sir still need to change his pants and shoes?" Seeing the smile on Mu Lezhu’s face, Aunt Chen relaxed, not feeling there was any significant issue since it was rare to see Mu Lezhu laugh so freely.

"No need." Lu Jingang spat out these two words firmly, catching glimpses of Mu Lezhu’s beautifully fresh and bold smile in the corner of his eye.

Mu Lezhu glanced at his legs, noticing both pant legs were visibly wet, assuming from such a heavy downpour outside that water had certainly gotten into his leather shoes as well.

Although he said that, Mu Lezhu felt bad for him, guessing that a person of his high standards probably cared about face, so she suggested, "Auntie, no need for pants, just bring up grandpa’s slippers!"

"I said there’s no need." At this mont, Lu Jingang, feeling proud, couldn’t accept anything after having lost so much face.

Aunt Chen paused, not daring to move after hearing his low growl, looking at Mu Lezhu with so difficulty.

Mu Lezhu looked at him, not startled by his sudden anger. Instead, she remained especially calm, smiling at Aunt Chen, "Don’t mind what he said, just do as I say, bring the slippers up!"

"Oh... okay." Seeing Mu Lezhu acting so boldly in front of Lu Jingang, Aunt Chen felt inexplicably comforted, nodding while sneaking a look at Lu Jingang’s particularly unpleasant face, still sowhat uneasy about Mu Lezhu.

She could say she watched Mu Lezhu grow up, knowing her temperant well, always fearing she’d suffer in front of Lu Jingang, but as just a housekeeper, she couldn’t voice these things in such wealthy, noble families like theirs.

After Aunt Chen left, Lu Jingang, frowning, looked at Mu Lezhu, "Don’t you understand what I’m saying?"

"I do." Mu Lezhu replied softly with a playful smile, "But... whether I want to listen or not is my own business. Besides, this is my ho, you have no choice here. Also, Auntie wasn’t wrong, just look at your pants, drenched as they are, don’t you feel cold? Aren’t you worried about catching a cold?"

"Whatever." Lu Jingang turned his gaze away dismissively, how could a grown man fuss over such things, it was so petty!

"You might not care, but if you catch a cold tonight, I’d feel guilty, so listen to , even if you won’t change your pants, at least change your shoes!"

"No need." Lu Jingang glanced down at his pants, "I’m planning to leave."

"Have the ginger tea before you go."

"I don’t need it."

"You do."

"I said I don’t need it."

"I said you do."

"Mu Lezhu."

"Lu Jingang."

Mu Lezhu t his gaze unflinchingly, determined to argue with him to the end, her eyes full of ’what’re you gonna do about it’: Don’t forget, your car is still parked in my garage. Here’s a friendly reminder: there are two ways to enter the garage, one is fingerprint and the other is a sensor card. Unfortunately, you have neither."

"Are you threatening ?"

"That’s not what I an, but knowing your temperant, there’s no way you’d ask Aunt Chen to make ginger tea after you leave. So why not drink it here? However, if you insist on taking it that way, fine, you can’t leave now anyway and can’t do anything to either."

"Mu Lezhu... you..." For the first ti, Lu Jingang felt frustrated and threatened, which instantly infuriated him because he really didn’t like such feelings, especially being threatened by Mu Lezhu, which he found intolerable.

"Ah, Auntie, just put them by him." Seeing Aunt Chen bringing up the gray cotton slippers, Mu Lezhu interrupted Lu Jingang with a smile, ignoring him altogether.

"The master’s shoes might not fit Mr. Lu well, so I found a new pair from the storage room. See if they fit." Aunt Chen placed the brand new slippers in front of him, smiling with a few words of respect.
