"Going to the hospital?" Lan Yuchuan widened his eyes in surprise, looking at him full of confusion. "What are you going to the hospital for? Did sothing happen or are you feeling unwell?"
Mu Lezhu was also stunned for a mont when she heard this, subconsciously turning her head to glance at him. She recalled that when they left this morning, Mrs. Lu had said she wanted him to accompany her. At the ti, she didn’t think much of it, assuming that he had only agreed because Mrs. Lu was present, and she hadn’t planned to delve into the matter. But she hadn’t expected that he really intended to go with her.
Lu Jingang gave him a faint glance but did not respond, and continued to eat.
Lan Yuchuan was stunned for two seconds, his peripheral vision catching Mu Lezhu’s bewildered expression. Suddenly, he had a mont of realization and sheepishly tapped his forehead, smiling awkwardly. "Look at my brain, you’re going to the hospital to visit Old Sir Mu, right? Sorry about that! I didn’t process it at the mont. How’s the old man’s health these days?"
"He’s getting better, much improved compared to before, thank you for your concern." Mu Lezhu snapped back to her senses, offered him a gentle smile, and replied softly.
"That’s good to hear. Ever since the old man was hospitalized, the news has been pretty tightly sealed. It’s a great relief to hear he’s on the nd." Lan Yuchuan nodded, smiling as he breathed a sigh of relief, then looked towards Lu Jingang. "However... I see that the relationship between you two seems to be improving, not as distant and cold as before. I’m happy for you both."
"Ah?" Mu Lezhu was taken aback by his sudden change of topic, staring blankly at Lan Yuchuan again, laughing awkwardly. "Uh... haha, is... is that so?"
"Sister-in-law, you might not know this, but Lu Jingang and I have known each other for about seventeen years. He’s a little over three years older than . To put it precisely, I know more about his life than Aunt Lu does. He’s always been aloof, so he hasn’t made many friends, though plenty of girls were interested in him. But his nature kept them at arm’s length, and he wasn’t very keen on interacting with girls. So you could say, sister-in-law, you are Lu Jingang’s first girlfriend." Lan Yuchuan covered his mouth with a mischievous smile, looking like he was about to spill so old secrets.
Upon hearing this, Lu Jingang’s brows slightly furrowed, his cold eyes glancing sharply at Lan Yuchuan, but he didn’t react harshly, continuing to eat with an indifferent deanor.
Mu Lezhu was equally astonished. She actually knew very little about Lu Jingang; apart from finding him cold and difficult to approach, she wasn’t aware of his past or whether he’d had any previous relationships, including his likes and dislikes.
Similarly, Lu Jingang didn’t understand her either, not knowing her preferences or even her nature.
"Finished eating? Let’s go!" Lu Jingang suddenly put down his chopsticks and glanced at Mu Lezhu when the atmosphere in the room beca silent, speaking casually.
"Uh... okay." Mu Lezhu ca back to her senses, having almost finished eating herself. She put down her chopsticks, glanced at the ti, and realized it was almost two o’clock, so she nodded. "Then let’s go! Thank you for the treat today, Boss Luo."
